Ixion Saga DT (Dimension Transfer)

Episode 19 –

spoiler

The fourteenth ritual has been completed and it was another silly one. But this time, it’s in a coliseum and in front of a crowd, including Jugglaburk. Ecarlate is on a high pedestal and sends an eye drop to a kneeling Kon below. It hits his eye and the ritual is a success as the crowd roars its approval.

Oh no! Ecarlate is in that mood again! One cowlick is up! To deal with this stress, they take a break from the stress of the rituals and end up at a karaoke club for a change of pace. It was funny when Kon opened up a panel in the machine and saw a bunch of tiny, sad looking guys with tiny musical instruments. He closed the panel and just pretended he didn’t see anything!

It was funny to see Marian scrambling to place an order every time Ecarlate’s cowlick waved. And under no circumstances can they let Ecarlate sing! Kon is told that the last time was a disaster. Marian volunteers to sing first, but only gets one note out before Ecarlate tells her to pick another song. And Kon decides that this just stopped being fun. The song Marian does finally sing is hysterical. Apparently they are expected to sing songs that mock themselves. Kon thinks it’s just a new form of Ecarlate’s torture.

Ecarlate asks who will be next and eyes Sainglain. He downs a full bottle of wine before he volunteers to be next. In cat ears, paws and tail, he sings a very cute song about cats. Marian directs Kon to play the tambourines and he knows his life depends on it. Things are getting very lively and I hope Ecarlate is satisfied. And in the room next door, Incognito is making merry as well and thinks the people next to them are too loud!

Ecarlate notices that they have a scoring system and hands the mic to Pet, ordering him to sing. She also expects him to score high or be “tossed into the stew”. She also has Marian order a pot of stew for the occasion. The friends can only pray that Pet gets a good score. He sings well but falls short of Ecarlate’s required score. They try to save Pet and Marian ends up shooting the machine. It was funny when all the tiny men fell out of it. Ecarlate accepts his “save” and Pet faints with relief.

Incognito is having just as much fun. Leon keeps driving Gustave crazy by talking to him through the mic. Gustave and KT are drunk and KT is all over Erec. No one will let Erec sing and it doesn’t look like Erec is having a very good time. Poor Erec goes to the bathroom and screams out that he wants to sing. Kon just happens to be in there as well, but they miss seeing each other by a hair. Erec returns to find his men still bickering and stripped down to their underwear. And he still can’t get to sing!

Meanwhile, Kon returns to his own hell and this time Ecarlate is singing. The only recognizable words are “obey”, “submit” and “total obedience” – it’s a very “her” song! It seems they were at this all night and as the sun rises, Incognito is passed out and Erec finally gets his chance to sing. But as he opens his mouth, closing is announced. I really wanted to hear him sing too! At least the Ecarlate beast has been appeased and her cowlick is gone. She’s actually smiling, but the rest of the group looks like hell. Kon is just glad that it’s over. Now, back to the rituals!

Yay! Got to hear Erec sing in the closing. Nice! I guess he ignored the fact the place was closing even though they cut him off in the end. Surprisingly Kon sings too before they cut him off as well. Now, here I thought that he didn’t know any of the songs from this place!

Well, it’s almost time for the “wedding that will change the world” and Kon thinks back on what it took to get them to this point. Kon finally gets to see the Olvidia Ceremony and it doesn’t look like it’s going to help him get home either. It seems to be just another metaphor for marriage. Ecarlate makes a cute bride, but she still has her cowlick. Jugglaburk is just as beautiful as always, but they are such a mismatched couple!

Erec and Incognito are still uninformed and aren’t sure what the Ulga Sorority plans to do about the wedding at this late moment. He thinks that their goal of stopping the marriage is now hopeless and he feels badly about being unable to complete his mission. Erec sees Kon in the crowd and doesn’t even feel angry about him anymore.

That night, Marian dresses Ecarlate in her nightgown for her first night with Jugglaburk. All give her words of encouragement except for Kon who is still disturbed by her age and what is to happen this night. Ecarlate assures Kon that this is her job and her duty. She thanks her servants, including Kon who wishes her luck – then takes it back. She goes off to meet Jugglaburk with the words “time to work”.

Ecarlate enters Jugglaburk’s large, darkened bed chamber and makes her way to the bed. It’s a long walk and when she reaches the bed, it seems to be more of a strange child’s room. She is even greeted by a creepy puppet called Nabotan. It is Jugglaburk and he introduces her to his other “friends” – some large and rather odd stuffed animals. Nabotan tells Ecarlate that he doesn’t like her nightgown and says she should remove it. She begins to unbutton it.

Back in the other room, Kon is still being a worrywart and the others tell him that worrying so much won’t change anything and send him off to bed. He goes but I doubt he will get much sleep. In Jugglaburk’s room, I am still trying to figure out what he’s up. He can’t really be like this! Perhaps he wants Ecarlate to back out of the marriage because of insanity? Anyway, he has her dressed up as a silly frill-necked lizard and he’s acting like a nut case. Then she asks Nabotan if he will change and Jugglaburk puts on a giraffe’s head. This has got to be the strangest wedding night I’ve ever seen!

Kon is back because he can’t sleep – I knew it! He’s a complete mess and is wondering if Jugglaburk is some kind of pervert. If he only knew! Back in the bedroom, Nabotan still wants to play and comes up with some very weird things to do. Ecarlate is on a swing and suggests listing the prime numbers in order, but as she does so, Nabotan gets sleepy and suggests they go to bed. Kon realizes that the others are correct and that he has no right to object to the current situation. But that still won’t stop his imagination!

The couple is now properly in bed and Nabotan lies between them. It’s very quiet as Jugglaburk reaches for Ecarlate. As he’s about to kiss her, all three cowlicks pop up! She screams and Kon is on the balcony to hear her. He sees the tower room where she is explode and all the stuffed animals come flying out. He runs to her aid and bursts through the bedroom doors. He grabs Jugglaburk by the ankles and yanks him from the bed, calling him a pervert, but to Kon’s amazement, Jugglaburk is crying and still wearing the Nabotan puppet on his hand.

Still holding Jugglaburk by the ankles, Kon looks up to find Ecarlate kneeling on the bed with her back to him. Marian and Sainglain also enter the room at this point. And so do a bunch of soldiers! They attack Kon and Marian grabs Ecarlate and runs. Kon is still surrounded and makes the silly mistake of saying the completely wrong thing in front of Jugglaburk’s men. They attack to kill!

Erec is sitting by a lakeside and still feels very much a failure. He hears screams and they are so loud that they even cause a ripple effect on the lake’s surface! Erec thinks it’s some kind of monster but then our heroes come out of the woods. Putting a hand on Erec’s shoulder, Kon says it’s up to him and everyone runs, leaving Erec behind to face the irate soldiers. As he’s being showered by arrows, he notices that KT and Leon were there all the time and heard his lament. Boy, he’s mad now! He attacks a nearby soldier and the others soon join in, but they have no idea just who they are fighting.

Erec doesn’t really care either - until he learns that the soldiers think they are in league with Jugglaburk’s assassins. The fighting stops as Erec proclaims his innocence. The soldiers don’t believe him and the fighting begins in earnest. Kon is happy to have gotten away and Ecarlate tells them what happened. They come to the conclusion that Jugglaburk must have had some childhood trauma. However, none of what happened had bothered Ecarlate. Twas nose hair that did the princess in! A single long nose hair was sticking out of Jugglaburk’s nose when he went to kiss her – total turn off – and this is why she beat him up!!! That’s the one thing that Ecarlate can’t stand!

Kon’s friends don’t seem to believe his “Ecarlate’s cowlick rampage” story and seem to blame him for most of Jugglaburk’s beating, even calling him “assassin”. Back at the castle, Jugglaburk is awake and covered in bandages, as is Nabotan. Both are as mad as hell too! In the forest, Erec, KT and Leon are running for their lives from the soldiers and Erec is cursing Kon all the way! Such a wedding night this was and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

After all that, it was the Ulga Sorority that planted the nose hair! I guess Incognito wasn’t needed after all. But as a result of the disastrous wedding night, the alliance is broken and war has been declared. And all because of the Sorority’s new man made Hyperions – the Ubrion. Variation gets to meet them when he tries to sneak in to the Sorority, but ends up being saved by a mysterious force. Erec, KT and Leon are saved by the same force.

Our heroes are camped out and decide to head back to the Empire’s territory. Pet is on his radio, but once off, warns the others that something is going to happen although it isn’t anything to worry about. No sooner has he said this than they also are taken by that mysterious force.

When Kon awakens, he is back in his room. He tries to remember what he was doing and eventually remembers the plea for help on his computer game. History repeats itself and Kon awakens once again, this time in a strange room. As he sits up, Flora joins him and explains that this is what remains of the capital. Kon immediately recognizes her as the one from the game.

Flora says that she’s been watching him and wants him to save this world, but Kon tells her that he doesn’t know how. She tells him that a single man is behind the war. Kon finds out that she brought him here and that she can also return him to his home. But he has to make the choice – if he stays and helps, he may die. Whether he goes home or dies, he decides that he can’t go in his untouched state. And Flora, who introduced herself as “the mysterious woman” will offer him a reward if he helps her.

Kon is still undecided when Pet interrupts to announce that the others are about to wake up. This is when Kon finds out that Pet works for this mysterious woman. Incognito is in another room and when a door opens, they venture out into a passageway. They soon find the room that Flora is in. Erec knows her by name, but she tells him that she is really “the mysterious woman”. He tells the others that this is the lady that had given him the powers of a Hyperion.

Kon is still in the room and confronts Erec just as Sainglain, Ecarlate and Marian enter the room. It turns out that Flora has been watching all of them. Ecarlate asks who she is, but when she says that she is the mysterious woman, Ecarlate’s first cowlick pops up. Flora says that she will tell them about Ixion and Ecarlate’s cowlick flattens, much to everyone’s relief.

Flora tells them of the past and how it is now repeating itself because of one person. And that person doesn’t want to get their hands dirty. The princess says that it’s all her fault, but Variation tells her what really happened and how she was set up by the Ulga Sorority. Erec asks Variation for an explanation and Variation informs him that the ones behind the war are the higher ups in the Sorority. Erec is surprised, but Flora confirms that the archbishop is behind everything. And he is trying to use ancient technology, which is why she brought Kon to this world.

However, the archbishop has proven to be too powerful and now Flora needs all of their help. But they will need to work together and it doesn’t look like they will. Flora also tells them that while they were being transferred, they were all given Hyperion powers and they can all use Alma Energy now. Erec is a little upset that he isn’t so special anymore. Flora opens a passage, directing them all to find the Alma Gear that suits them and Ecarlate is the first to move forward. Everyone else follows, but Kon hangs back to ask if Flora will grant his wish, being that they are successful. It’s either success or death!

In another room stands a giant gumball machine. This is apparently what gives out the Alma Gear. Sainglain is the first to turn the handle, using his new found Hyperion strength. Nothing happens – Sainglain can’t turn it. Gustave tries next, calling out for his Alma power and nothing happens. While Erec tries, in his unique way, to reason things out, the others each try the machine, all to no avail. Kon watches everyone give everything they have and tries to figure out what he wants to do. If he stays, he might die and if he goes home, he’ll be safe, but so will his “DT”. Poor guy – what a tough decision!

During the last try – Ecarlate’s – her cowlicks come in to play. One and two and it looks like she’s going to break the gumball machine, but no one can stop her in her current state. Alma plus cowlicks make her even stronger! By the third cowlick, Ecarlate has lifted the machine from the ground and Kon approaches her. He tells her that she needs to put money in the slot first and Ecarlate instantly calms down and her cowlicks flatten. Amazing!

Marian hands over a pile of money and as Sainglain operates the machine, Incognito wonders what they are going to do without money. I don’t think they have to worry, because it seems that the princess is rejecting everything that is coming out so far. Looks like there will be plenty of leftovers to go around! Sure enough, the heroes finally get what they want and run off, leaving a pile of stuff behind. Incognito pounces on it and chooses what they like as well. But as they are choosing, Flora’s voice announces that she is sending them back from whence they came and they are gone.

Back in the room, the heroes are testing their new Alma Gear as Kon speaks with Flora. He has decided to stay for many reasons, but he also asks Flora to “make him a man” and bowing, holds out his hand to her. However, Sainglain is the one to take it and promises to make Kon a man – on the battlefield! Not exactly what Kon had in mind, but he won’t admit it to the others. Flora will also let Pet stay with them in case they need to contact her. But as they are being sent back, Kon still has questions and tries to remain. How will he get home? How can he get to Olvidia? Flora tells him that Olvidia is sealed and that it’s no longer possible to get there. Kon is upset, but Flora just says to forget about it and waves goodbye and they are gone. Oh well!

The heroes are returned to their campsite and Kon asks for the point of coming to Jugglaburk. Realizing that he has no choice, he tells the others that they should go fulfill Flora’s wish so Kon can fulfill his own. But Ecarlate bursts his bubble by asking him if they can “really trust that woman?” Kon believes in her but the others don’t and give their opinions. The conversation turns funny and Kon ends up screaming in frustration. With just a few episodes left, I can’t wait to see how it all turns out!

This was a wonderful, raunchy comedy! I don’t think I ever enjoyed laughing so hard in my life!

But perhaps that’s just my perverted nature…
