Kokoro Connect

I’m a bit confused by this. Could anyone explain this statement that my little noggin can comprehend?

Some of the people involved in creating Kokoro Connect, in a incomprehensible fit of stupidity, thought it would be funny to cause a voice actor to think he’d gotten a part in the Anime only to then pull an elaborate on-line “Bait & Switch” on him with a PR job.

Unsurprisingly, this did not work out well. Indeed it got taken up by the “internet” and went in unexpectedly damaging & embarrassing directions.

So, the bottom line is that Kokoro Connect, an otherwise good show, now has a stain on it and some of the production committee in Japan are likely to find getting their next job to be something of a challenge.

Which also hurts the already slim chance of a sequel for this series (doesn’t help this was made by a company who doesn’t like to make sequels to begin with)

Kokoro Connect Cancels Part of PR Campaign This Weekend
posted on 2012-09-07 14:33 EDT

The official website for the Kokoro Connect anime announced on Friday that it is cancelling the itasha (decorated car) publicity campaign and Ustream streaming portions of the “Tochi Random” publicity events for the September 8-9 weekend.

The staff will still host the Tochi Random caravan events on those two days at Animate stores in Sendai and Yokohama. The Sendai event will feature voice cast members Takahiro Mizushima (Taichi Yaegashi), Asuka Ōgame (Rina Yaegashi), and Mitsuhiro Ichiki (the appointed head of the show’s public relations department). The event in Yokohama will have both Ōgame and Ichiki.

On Sunday and Tuesday, the official website issued two statements regarding the public treatment of Ichiki since an advanced screening event in June. Ichiki had auditioned for an anime-original character, but he was informed at the June event that he would instead act as the Head of Public Relations for the series, not as part of the voice cast.

After the fan backlash for the “Candid Camera-style project,” the anime’s production committee said that it had planned from the beginning to make Ichiki part of the voice cast for the last episodes of the series. The production committee apologized for “insufficient consideration regarding performers” leading to “widespread discomfort and misunderstanding” in its publicity campaign.

Ep. 10

Man I love this series!

[details=spoiler]So, after Heartseed stopped in to rattle Inaba’s cage, she’s been thinking about what he said, and her feelings for Taichi.

And she actually let them out to Nagase this episode, so now we have a little love triangle going, since neither Nagase nor Inaba are going to give up on him.

Inaba actually kissed Taichi at the end too!
That was such an “awww” moment, especially when she got embarrassed and actually squealed like a girl for once.[/details]

A recent retailer listing as well as the official website for the Kokoro Connect anime series have revealed that home video releases of the series will be delayed by roughly a month each. The first Blu-ray Disc and DVD of the series was originally slated to be released on September 26, but will now be released on October 24.

The staff and production committee of the series recently issued statements expressing regret over a performer’s treatment during a part of its promotional campaign.

This series just rocks!

[details=spoiler]So Taichi is met with Heartseed 2, a different yet same entity with the power to change things.
Heartseed 2 has chosen Taichi to be normal this time around and he has to keep it a secret.

The new problem the group faces is age regression from 12pm-5pm.
They don’t all regress at the same time, but they also don’t regress to the same age.

6 year old Inaba is sooo cavity inducing moe![/details]

Kokoro Connect BDs/DVDs to Use Different Opening Theme

Composer Hajime Kikuchi had stopped working with eufonius band after controversy

The official website for the Kokoro Connect television anime series announced on Monday that the first four Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes will use a different opening theme song from the television broadcast “due to production issues.” Hajime Kikuchi, the composer of the first opening theme song “Paradigm,” announced last month that he will not participate in the rock band eufonius for now, after making what he described as “careless remarks.”

Kikuchi’s comments eventually led to a controversy over the treatment of voice actor Mitsuhiro Ichiki by the staff. The staff and production committee of the series issued statements last month, expressing regret over Ichiki’s treatment during a part of the anime’s promotional campaign.

All of the Blu-ray Disc/DVD volumes have already been delayed one month; the first volume is now slated for October 24 instead of September 26. Namco Bandai Games has delayed the Kokoro Connect Yochi Random PSP game until November.

I was, and am, looking forward to this being out on physical media here in North America.

But this is one heck of a Train Wreck in Japan. ( Problem with train wrecks, once one car is off the rails more problems are coming - fast. )
