Although we’re streaming both the sub AND the dub, only 79 of those episodes were ever dubbed (81 if you count the two specials) due to licensing issues back in the day.

That would actually be kinda neat, if Sentai dubbed the remaining undubbed episodes!

(Part 2 is the one I remember watching all those years ago on Toonami. :heart:)

I think TMS would have to decide and fund it happening. It’d probably be in their interest to do it. So maybe it could happen. I think those episodes and all of part 3 might be the only Lupin tv stuff without a English dub.

I wonder if the making more process of the new Lupin series will be speeded up and start to become like another long winded one piece series ?

Lupin has been having new media ever since the manga was released back in 1967, and the first anime in 1971.

In terms of longevity, very few actually have him beat.

While, yes, One piece may have 1000+ episodes, the total of lupin series is well over 300 episodes itself!

Maurice Leblanc‘s estate wanting to much to use Lupin outside of Japan was a big issue for years. I believe it’s all in public domain now.

For example in the 80’s D.I.C. and TMS were in the process of creating a Lupin series set in the future for American children. That ended up never happening because Maurice Leblanc‘s estate were wanting to much and the people from D.I.C. that were supposed to work on that ended up creating Inspector Gadget so the story goes.
