Well I’m glad it’s not canned but the timeslot very much upsets me.
Why the move I wonder? Schedule changes?

Personally, I think it’s because the content of future episodes will too much for family prime time viewing on Disney XD. Rather than simply stop airing the show, they moved it to a late night timeslot that might be more appropriate for it, IMO. Ratings is likely another factor…

Huh sounds like Disney XD could air TV-14 episodes.

I tend to think that if Cartoon Network still had Naruto, they might have moved Shipudden too, possibly into the Adult Swim block with Bleach–and they’d be right to do so, IMO.

I can think of four reasons they could be moving it.
Mythbusters has better ratings and they don’t want to run against it.

The one that has already been said.

Ratings are starting to dip. They’ve done this before with shows and much worse. Least this is on at a reasonable time instead of 4 am like the did with the americanized anime shows they ran a while back.

They temp moved it because of Spring Break so they can run specials.

Honestly I’m fine with this move since it’s a pain finding something to watch from when stuff on BBCA ends to Blaheach starts.

Disney XD really isn’t competing with the Discovery Channel (different demographic for their advertisers). XD’s main competition is with similar networks like Nick, ABC Family, and Cartoon Network with similar audiences.

Cartoon Network had a “stealth block” of unadvertised and mostly unlisted anime on Saturday mornings at 5 AM EST. Gundam Seed and one of the .Hack shows were among the last shows to air there. They were generally shows that Cartoon Network had given up on ratings-wise and were more or less there merely as a space-filler.

Saturday night immediately after prime-time is still a good timeslot for a show like Shippuden and probably is where it would have landed anyway if Cartoon Network had it, IMO.

Reminder: New Naruto Shippuden tonight!

Anyone know when or if they will re-air Saturday’s episode? I was to late to catch it. When it was on Wednesday they re-aired it at 2:00 am that night.

I don’t know if we should worry to much about the time change. They had the Avengers series airing before it and switched it to Sunday a 10:00 am for new episodes a while ago. Wednesday primetime seems an odd place to have new episodes of animated shows. I don’t think Disney has done that before.

Moving it to Saturday at 11:00 could be a good move especially if they censor less stuff. Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim anime doesn’t start until 12:00 so Disney XD could try to find another new anime to air at 11:30. If they had an hour anime block at 11:00 they could get some of the anime fans that watch Adult Swim while still not actually have to compete for the same viewers.

I don’t see it in the next two weeks.

I can honestly say they’re taking a big gamble with Saturday 11 PM slot. That’s a big difference from Wednesday at 9PM but so far I’ve caught on with it okay. They might be trying to target the teenage - young adult audience who’s able to stay up later than the younger crowd. I sure hope it works. Storm Hawks bombed for them. I’d hate to see a streak forming.

If you step back and think about it on the plus side. If you put together The Hub’s Block from 7-9 PM (Transformers, GI Joe, Dan Vs. R.L Stine) and then Disney XD’s block from 10-12 AM (Kid vs. Kat, Jimmy Two Shoes, Naruto Shippuden, X-Men Evolution) you’ve got yourself a new Toonami-like block.

That’s one of my horrendous pet peeves about that network. They’re scheduling of Naruto is awful. If you don’t catch the premiere, you’re sunk because you never know how the schedule will shift week after week. Up till now though you might have been luckier because of the Saturday night reruns but now…

^^^
Yeah, they’re doing Shippuden the way Cartoon Network did the original. You better catch it during that one airing on Saturday night…

Personally, I hate that more than I can put into words. Not so much the schedule change, but that there’s only one opportunity to catch a new episode. It seems to be the pattern networks follow with shows that are acquisitions rather than original productions (new episodes for those will be aired several times a week to make sure you don’t miss them), IMO.

Popular anime’ 5th film gets TV showing in U.S.

I guess a TV-PG V rating was to be expected. The movie was alright overall for what I saw. Accidentally fell asleep during the last half hour. I’m so not happy about that. I guess the exhaustion caught up with me.

Did anybody else like the Naruto S movie?

While profile hunting looking for some people to friend, I saw your pos about the movie. Thanks or I would have missed it. I DVR’d it but havent watched it yet. I managed to record it along with all of FOX animation domination and the Hub’s GIJOE transformers and Dan Vs. It’s going to be a good day
