Probably added it to make Lucy’s induction into the guild flow a bit better, because in the manga after the reunion with Gobuko, it jumps straight to the Dwarfs arc

I do like this better. I was wondering what happened to the part where she says what she did to their Dad. They just moved it in to this episode and it feels like Lucy flows better with a little more time instead of how short the introduction is in the manga,
