Episode 12 –
Spoiler
Amami really has lost her sixth sense and falls into a depression. Still, she keeps trying to find her ghost friends. Her human friends are worried about her as well. The ghosts don’t even show up in their pictures anymore and they girls can’t even feel any spiritual activity. Inoue seems to be the only one happy about that, but she really isn’t either.
Amami eventually passes out from the stress, causing her friends to become even more concerned. The next day, Amami doesn’t come to school and everyone decides to pay her a visit after school. However, Amami’s father says that she doesn’t want to see anyone and won’t let them in the house. They find out that she isn’t eating either.
The friends leave and try to figure out a way to help Amami. They think that if they perhaps cook for her, then maybe she will eat. The next day, the friends also continue to do the things that Amami used to do around the neighborhood, including the offerings for the ghosts.
Inoue arrives at Amami’s house and drags her out of bed, forcing her to eat as she yells at her. The fried eggs are good and it seems that Amami gets her appetite back. Amami admits to Inoue that she is really feeling very lost and confused without her sixth sense. She cries as she talks with Inoue. She feels that without her sixth sense, even her human friendships would not survive.
Inoue has had enough! She just doesn’t like the things that Amami is saying and drags her out of the house to show her just how much her friends and everyone else she helped cares for her, sixth sense or not. Amami still isn’t getting it and Inoue really lets her have it. It was because of Amami herself that connections were made and bonds were formed. Inoue cries and says that she wants to be Amami’s friend forever. Amami cries as well, returning her feelings.
And in that other place, the morning glories bloom again. Suddenly, Amami can see all of her ghost friends again. It seems that Inoue can see them all as well and isn’t too happy about it. But at least she doesn’t look all that scared anymore. The rest of Amami’s human friends join them and they’re very happy that things are back to normal. Even Amami’s mom is watching through her mirror and is sure that her daughter will be fine from now on, with or without her sixth sense. Amami finally realizes that even if she can’t always see her ghost friends, she knows they will always be with her. And she continues to make new ones too!
