S23/Sentai Filmworks/Switchblade Pictures/Maiden Japan , etc PR, News, And Announcements - 2012/2014

It wouldn’t be February though as I said.
You’re talking about putting 2 seasons in one BD boxset when JP hasn’t even released either season in a boxset on its own.

As I said, the chance of that ever happening is next to zero at this point.
Once a few years pass and JP has released both seasons in boxsets either in single season sets (which is most likely) or together (which I doubt would happen with this title so soon) then it might be possible.

Delaying it until “sometime 2015” or later doesn’t really affect me as I’d still be getting more than I expected as this show originally wasn’t going to get a dub in the first place, placing it off of my radar. Can the fans who thought that they were getting a sub-only bluray hold out that long? I dunno as that is a fairly long time past the original ETA.

Having gotten so used to delays with anime (thanks Funi) I’ve taken to preferring getting all of a show at once.

Most importantly, I want Sentai to make sure that it takes its time with this one and gets it right. If additional content can be used to justify the delay that ensures product perfection then I’d call it a win. I’m still planning on preordering this LE whenever it goes on sale, regardless of content though (and if there should be a gaffe with the release then it is still nothing that Funi hasn’t done lol).

SO to go more with their parents/owning company AES Holdings that does mostly porn… are they changing the name to Hentai Filmworks while they are at it?

Will TAN then change form The Anime Network to Trashy International Television? (TI+)

Get some decent shows with interesting stories finally and then they go with a bunch of T&A…

Does Sentai mean “fanservice” in the general sense, as opposed to the “prurient” one?

Does this mean that Sentai is giving away NGNL posters at its booth? I kinda hope so as Funimation has really been slacking on its poster freebies lately and a little Sentai competition could spur them on. I hope that if Sentai ups its game for AX that it doesn’t drop it for Otakon. Someone has to restore Otakon’s dealers room to its former glory…

Or get shows that have both.

Considering Jessica Nigri is going to be cosplaying Sonico at the Sentai booth, could be a little of both.

So what is being depicted there?

Sentai brings tanks, cosplayers, props and an actual booth to AX but only a few folding tables to Otakon. The runner-up convention feels the love lol.

Sonico’s coat from the anime.

See you there!

Hopefully they’ve planned this out as these sort of events have been known to induce “katrina class” riots among con-goers at otakon, to the point that otakon had to restrict them, and otakon is far smaller.

Even if they did plan these things out, they aren’t really all that friendly to con goers as events at megacons require intricate planning and hours of camping lines for many events, making the odds high that these spontaneous Sentai events will cause attendees to make a hard choice, potentially forced to forego other Sentai events for this. Good Intentions, I guess.

…the more Sentai hypes what they’re doing at AnimeExpo, the more devastating it will be at Otakon when their “booth” is, again, a couple of folding card tables put end-to-end, despite them having a bona fide booth @ AX. (Insert sad smile emoticon here)

HOUSTON, July 5, 2014 – It’s out of the battlefield and into the fire as a would-be hero becomes a retail warrior in Sentai Filmworks’ latest acquisition, I Couldn’t Become a Hero So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job. This comedic action series is directed by Kinji Yoshimoto (Genshiken 2, Unbreakable Machine-Doll) with series composition by Masashi Suzuki (The Ambition of Oda Nobuna, Rail Wars!), sound direction by Yasushi Nagura (The Future Diary, Wagnaria!! Season 2) and animation production by asread (Minamni-ke: Okaeri, Shuffle!).

Raul Chaser never wanted to work in retail, but when the war against the Demons ended unexpectedly, the Hero Training Program he was in shut down. But although combat-trained Raul may feel out of place dealing with customers in a department store instead of dealing out death with hardened steel, his newest co-worker’s culture shock is even worse. Because while Fino Bloodstone is ready, eager and willing to please, she’s also the daughter of the now deceased Demon King! So not only are her social skills a little challenged, but it’s going to be up to Raul and the staff to teach her the finer points of the human concept of a “pleasant shopping experience”, as well as when it’s proper to wear what kind of clothes and whose bed you can sleep in. And they’ll have to do it quick, because there’s a sinister major retail chain moving into the area with plans for global domination. Their job isn’t to do or die, it’s to make the customers buy, buy, buy when the ultimate swords, sorcery and sales counter attack ensues in I COULDN’T BECOME A HERO SO I RELUCTANTLY DECIDED TO GET A JOB!

I Couldn’t Become a Hero So I Reluctantly Decided to Get a Job will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES “ARGEVOLLEN”

HOUSTON, July 5, 2014 – With the might of an entire country behind him, one man will discover the strength to turn the tides of war in Sentai Filmworks’ latest acquisition, ARGEVOLLEN. This sci-fi mecha action series is directed by Atsushi Ootsuki (Motto To Love Ru, Wagnaria!! Season 2) with series composition by Tatsuo Sato (Bodacious Space Pirates, Basquatch!), sound direction by Jin Aketagawa (AKB0048, No Game, No Life) and animation production by XEBEC (Broken Blade, Fafner).

It is said that war does not determine who is right – only who is left. The countries of Arandas and Ingelmia have been long embroiled in battle, with countless soldiers on each side falling in the line of duty. The sounds of bombs and gunfire have become background noise to day-to-day life, and it seems as if peace will never come. Adding to the terror are monstrous machines piloted by ruthless, battle-hardened soldiers. Destruction and devastation seem to be inevitable, unless, of course, Susumu Tokimune, the justice-seeking pilot of the ARGEVOLLEN, has anything to say about it. After Susumu and his comrades in arms save a girl named Jamie Hazaford from an enemy attack, they find themselves more determined than ever to turn the tides. But will determination and teamwork be enough? And even with the troops coming together to fight for a common goal, is hope still lost?

ARGEVOLLEN will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
