Amusingly, after lots of people threw a big stink about this, ANN changed the name of the article to:
Right Stuf Spoofs Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.”

Well that’s lame.
Coulda gone for “Right Stuf Rick Rolls” or something a little more alliterative, though without the “rickrolling” the whole point of the video is lost: it’s about the con, not the song. This is like taking a gag can of “peanut brittle” (that old gag where the fake snake pops out) and relabeling it “This can is a prank, opening it will cause you to be hit in the face with a fake snake”. Really kills it.
It’s kind of like putting a kid’s Christmas gift in the box from the toy that was asked for, but replacing the contents with a pair of toe socks.
It’s kinda funny and most will laugh it off, but for some it may result in hurt feelings for a long time.
I’m sure there are some RightStuff customers that won’t buy as much, or any at all, because of it.
A poor choice of joke I’m afraid.

…calling that the reunion of the dub cast is pretty sketchy.
Talking about the SM dub always reminds me of that episode of Excel Saga: “I wanted to be in that dub but it was done in Canada!”
It’d be nice if there were actually readily-available DVDs of SM to get signed by these people. I wonder if those old official VHS tapes of this that I happen to have lying around still work. The shelf life of VHS was pretty short IIRC.

Guests include producer, director, manga editor, stage musical’s cast
The official website for the Sailor Moon manga/anime franchise’s 20th anniversary reported this month that there will be a special stage event at the Niconico Chōkaigi 3 convention on April 27 at 4:00 p.m. (3:00 a.m. ET). The website then reported that the event will unveil the cast for the new Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal anime, and all five main cast members from the stage musical will also appear. Scheduled guests include the new anime’s director Munehisa Sakai, producer Yū Kamiki, and Fumio Osano (the Sailor Moon manga’s Kodansha editor who is known by his nickname “Osabu.”) People who attend the event will receive a postcard with the anime’s key visual.
The Niconico service will stream the event live.
Takeuchi launched the original manga in Nakayoshi in 1992, and the hit anime premiered that same year. The manga inspired 27 earlier stage musical runs with over 800 performances between 1993 and 2005. Toei’s new Sailor Moon Crystal anime series will premiere in July.
A second new musical will debut this summer. The musical will take place in the far-future of Crystal Tokyo and detail the battle against the Black Moon clan. The first all-female revival musical “Sailor Moon: La Reconquista” debuted in September.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal to premiere on July 5 online
Holy Crap! Viz brought out the big guns for Anime Central…
Viz to the other Anime licensing companies:

Also, incase you didn’t watch the announcement trailer all the way through, that is the new voice of Sailor Moon at the very end. ( https://twitter.com/VIZMedia/status/467454079334367232 )
-edit-
Also, this is rather interesting…
I’m glad that the bidding war is over and that the show is finally licensed again. I’m also glad, and not surprised like so many, that Viz got it instead of Funimation. Considering that Viz’s retail footprint is bigger than Funi’s, it probably makes more sense in their hands anyway. I hope the new dub turns out well.
They are so far doing a good job with the Ranma Blu-rays . Plus I think they have a better shot at getting decent masters then say the others I know that were “bidding” .
California dub, mangaka oversight on the dub cast, slavish accuracy to the Japanese…I’m not sure that I want this as it won’t be the show that I remember. Viz has an unhealthy relationship with studiopolis, which might just be the worst anime dubbing studio around, so I am further concerned about the dub.
This is one title that, due to the upscale, I’m not set on the blurays for but I hope that they don’t put exclusive content onto the blurays (which Viz has a history of doing) and then make the blurays into a several-100-dollar package that sells out quickly and may not ever be reissued (aniplex style).

Watch Sailor Moon (sub) on Hulu
Sailor Moon EPS. 01-04 are now LIVE!
It’s an interesting watch, to be sure. Mainly because there is absolutely no CGI in it.
I probably won’t get the releases (I find Usagi very annoying) but it’s worth it to watch it through at least once.
