About Section23 Films
Section23 Films provides home video marketing and distribution services for a variety of companies, including Sentai Filmworks, Switchblade Pictures, and AEsir Holdings. With its special focus on genre entertainment, Section23 Films distributes some of the very best anime, martial arts, and horror titles on the market today.

Cool! more licenses and quick subs for Sentai! now all we have to do is wait until Section 23 partners up with TBS and Pony Canyon that way Seraprim will be able to at least dub 6 titles a year.

Can’t wait for Sumomomo Momomo and Akihori Hour Gendou Rabuge to get picked up by Section 23.

YAY, MORE SHOWS! And some of them I’ve been wanting to see. Abyss is a definite buy and I will probably try Glass Mask. And considering all the good words I’ve heard about Hidamari, that one is probably a definite buy as well. Add in that Special A and Tears to Tiara will be finishing that month as well, and January will be quite tough on my wallet. I guess it will be ramen for dinner for a week or two

Also, I just noticed Glass Mask is a full 26 episode set, so it’s almost a definite buy. You can’t beat a full season at that price. It’s also nice to see Sentai trying something a bit different with their releases.

Section23 Films and Sentai Filmworks won a lot of brownie points with these announcements. It’s a great line up to restore confidence with the hardcore fans who have lost it through last year’s difficulties. Along with all the new stuff lately, it is an impressive line up of licenses for a company that had to start over.

Someone in this thread needs to think before they post.

Wow. I’m happy with surprises me in last couple of months in a good way. Probably try the new stuff before buying. Special A and Tears To Tiara Collection 1 i’m going to order through diamond. If I like them obviously get collection 2. Of course getting YUA and I been needing to get yucie but I been a bit un decide about if I should at times.

Finally be getting “PETITE PRINCESS YUCIE COMPLETE COLLECTION”

Also be ordering at some point all of the Switchblade titles , HIDAMARI SKETCH , GLASS MASK COLLECTION 1 , and TEARS TO TIARA COLLECTION 2. The rest may get at some point in time down the road in a galaxy long time far lands in the muck of what ever may come with pudding on top.

  • Akiballion: Battlemaids of Akihabara DVD Complete Collection (S) LiveAction
  • You’re Under Arrest Season 2 DVD Collection 2 (S)
  • Tears To Tiara DVD Collection 2 (S)
  • Neo Angelique Abyss Season 1 DVD Collection (S)

Just these for me during the next Sentai sale.

None of them for me sorry :frowning: . I’ll only buy sub-only if it’s something I’m really interested in, and sorry but I none of these titles got me. But it is nice to see Section 23 license so much. Really I think they may license the most titles this year lol! Now I’m hoping for a few dubs down the line a little. Please?

I have more then enough license rescues to still buy from Sentai, and way too many older ADV titles still to buy. And I bought the first boxset of Petite Princess Yucie, so it doesn’t matter to me anymore. But nice they are re-releaseing that. It’s an amazing title, easily one of my favorites from the genre. I think I like it even more then Princess Tutu. I cannot recommend **Yucie **enough, everyone needs to buy that. Trust me  .

SHAFT (Hidamari Sketch) is automatic buy! It’s a shame the market is where it’s at now cause an ADV dub for it would be amazing.

Someone pointed out elsewhere, that Tears to Tiara ships it’s final volume in Japan on 1/10. So we will be our release here only six days later. That’s a rather impressive feat.

January is too long to wait. I want them now…:frowning:

Out of curiosity which ones do you want especially and why? Thanks!

You know, theres no seperate thread I can find - and I went back six months - for You’re Under Arrest. So maybe if we get one this post can migrate there.

I was just somewhat floored watching Fast & Furious part 1 disc one. Episode 5’s plot involves crooks with a car that manage to dissapear into thin air, like a ghost.

The thing is the car. It’s not just an old car, or an old American car, it’s a really specific car. A 1951 Mercury customized originally in 1952 by Sam & George Barris, the top chopped, B-post eliminated and curved window frames added, lowered, grille changed, headlights changed, taillights changed, '53 Buick side trim added… everything but the color are dead on for the “Hirohata Merc”. The car picked up the name from the guy it was built for, Bob Hirohata, who was a Japanese-American - so it’s an appropriate choice in this series.

The color was probably changed because light seafoam green with a dark green side cove aren’t very ghostly - but this car itself was supposed to be like an earlier custom, which has some different details, and was a dark purple color. As it stands this car was popular enough that a clone of it was built in the 1980s. But there’s only the two out there exactly like this.

Also, the red convertible in episode six is a pretty dead on stock '49 Cadillac.

Done, though I realize it only covers season one:
