HOUSTON, JULY 6, 2017 – At their industry panel on July 1, 2017 at Anime Expo 2017, Sentai Filmworks announced five upcoming dubbed projects. In a follow up to the popular #TheDubsAreComing announcement at Anime Expo 2016, Sentai Filmworks unveiled their plans to release the following titles with an English dub:

  • Haikyu!
  • Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto
  • FLIP FLAPPERS
  • Tanaka-kun is Always Listless
  • Squid Girl Season 2

At their panel, Sentai Filmworks also confirmed an upcoming premium box set for the first season of Haikyu!

A. The dubbed releases to home video this summer include: Himouto! Umaru-chan, Chivalry of a Failed Knight, School Live, Monster Musume, GATE, Ushio & Tora, and Onigiri.

Q. Dubs for Haikyuu, Flip Flappers, Tanaka-kun, Sakamoto, and Squid Girl. Honestly nobody has ever made me this happy. I never want this feeling to go away. So I was hoping you felt that way too, and maybe you would even consider doing me the favor of marrying me.

A. We volunteer Tanaka-kun as your future bride. He needs someone good to take care of him. Of course, you might have to prove your worth to Ohta. We’re glad to know that the news made your day!

Did you miss the announcements Sentai Filmworks unveiled at Anime Expo 2017? No fear: we’ve got you covered!

#1: Haikyu! English Dub and Premium Box Set


With a single phrase, “CHANCE BALL!”, Haikyu!! cosplayers flooded the stage at the Sentai Filmworks panel to bring hype to one of our biggest announcements: Haikyu! is getting an English dub AND a premium box set. Pre-orders for the box set will be available online soon!

#2: More Dubs are Coming

Remember the first round of #TheDubsAreComing? Well they came back this year in the form of a game! By the end of the panel, fans got to learn about four confirmed dub projects:

Steampunk cute girls with guns! This is the stuff anime dreams are made of, and the audience at the US Premiere of Princess Principal, courtesy of Bandai Visual, got to see the first episode before the summer simulcast season even began.

#5: No Game, No Life Zero Extended Preview

At the No Game, No Life Creators Panel, fans got to meet Ms. Atsuko Ishizuka (director), Mr. Jukki Hanada (script writer), and Mr. Kenji Nakamoto (animation producer). After a riveting game of audience rock-paper-scissors, the creator debuted an exclusive new preview for the upcoming movie No Game, No Life Zero. The full trailer will soon be available online on Sentai Filmworks’ YouTube Channel in mid-August.
