The Gamers / The Gamers: Dorkness Rising / The Gamers: Hands of Fate

Pfft!
So this is the little scheme FB has come up with now…
You actually have pay them per-post (as the page owner), for fans of any given page, to see all posts that are added to a page.

This is what the new “Promote” interface looks like.

Important Update:

The internet entity on which this page is hosted now expects us to pay them before they will release our updates to all of you. In other words, they could be throttling fan access to our updates and you may be missing lots of cool content.

As an experiment, we’re paying them for the privilege of passing this information on to all of our fans, rather than just 20% of you. Why?

 1. To experience the process
 2. To say “Hi!”
 3. To find out if you think it’s worth our money to, for example, let you know when new episodes of JourneyQuest are released.
 4. To let you know that Wren the Bard is totally beating Duamerthrax the Indestructible in today’s MAY-HEM poll, which has us more than a little bit nervous.

Remember, if this Page ever disappears, you can find us on YouTube, at ZombieOrpheus.com, or with your internet search engine of choice.
Even though he’s losing in MAY-HEM, I guess you can’t beat Tony’s ego…

Some times it pains me to not have an FB account.

What kinds of rewards and perks do you want to see in the Gamers 3 Kickstarter campaign?
I’ve never seen any of the MST3K in my entire life, so I’ll never catch the reference, however…

We’ve chosen a title for Gamers 3. (Hint: MST3K fans are some of the people who will get the joke.)
They’re actually doing a Kickstarter for a game module based on Dorkness Rising, called The Mask of Death.

Impressively, the fans have spoken once again, and it got funded in less that 6 hours!

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zombieorpheus/the-mask-of-death

The Mask of Death

An Epic Quest for Five 9th Level Characters

The Quest for the Mask of Death begins in the city of Whitetower. Despite the occasional goblin incursion, the lands around Whitetower have known peace and prosperity under the reign of King Erasmus the Randomly Biased. This relative calm is shattered by the news of a powerful artifact falling into the hands of a wicked necromancer named Mort Kemnon. Kemnon has sworn to bring low the king and transform the land into a twisted reflection of his own evil god, Death himself…

About the Module

Based on cult hit The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, this new roleplaying adventure module expands on the story of the film with an expanded adventure into the world of Fartherall. Play the characters from Dorkness Rising or your own party as you face a Goblin Totem, devious Priests, a miniature Death Demon, and even the mysterious artifact known only as the Mask of Death.

Compatible with the Pathfinder roleplaying system, the print version of the 48-page module will have a color cover, black-and-white interior, and traditional saddle stitching for the classic RPG module look and feel. The PDF version will feature a color cover and color interior.

Kickstarter starts in 5 days!****

They added a little mini to the module…

Mound of Dead Bards

-lol-
Zombie Orpheus Entertainment

We’ve added a Mound of Dead Bards mini to the Mask of Death campaign. Only six days remain to pledge and receive this exclusive mini!

Zombie Orpheus Entertainment

We’re play testing the Mask of Death module tonight. Hopefully you’ll do better against Turk, Fastidian, and Rennard than we are. Daphne only has four hit points left and Flynn has died three time in three rounds.
Post Comment:

Fastidian and Rennard are down and Turk is flanked in a mud pit by… And Flynn gets the kill!
Impossible!

More post comments on the module test!

With the Kickstarter Campaign push for The Gamers: Hands of Fate starting tomorrow at 8pm PST, I changed and edited the first post and title to include everything.
Including adding links to both previous movies (though they still haven’t finished putting up the last 3 parts of DR).

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/zombieorpheus/the-mask-of-death

And there’s 3 more days left on The Mask of Death Kickstarter.
Though it’s already funded (currently 410%) there’s still time to get the gloriously funny Mound of Dead Bards mini!
-lol-

Sad, but they’re doing so many things at once, it’s not too surprising.
G3 Kickstarter pushed by a week.
Zombie Orpheus Entertainment

We need just a little more time to get the Gamers 3 Kickstarter ready and not miss Thursday’s JourneyQuest release date. We’ll do our best to keep you entertained in the meantime, most likely with videos of Matt Vancil’s Russian potato dance.
So true!
Zombie Orpheus Entertainment

Tomorrow is your last day to pledge for the Mask of Death module. (We’re reminding you about this now because tomorrow your world will be consumed by JourneyQuest!)

Hearing this makes me even more impatient for the G3 Kickstarter to start (in 4 more days) and finish, so I can see it!

(Just finished reading the latest draft of the Gamers 3 script. That Matt Vancil, his work just keeps getting better and better…)
The Gamers: Hands of Fate Kickstarter Has Begun!

(Our video upload to Kickstarter has failed twice. While we try a third time, please enjoy the latest episode of JourneyQuest as an example of the quality of work we’re currently doing. Official video should be live by 10 PM PST.)

About this project

In The Gamers: Hands of Fate, the cast of internationally acclaimed The Gamers: Dorkness Rising returns for another dice-hurling, waffle-devouring, GM-infuriating romp through worlds of sword, sorcery, and surrealism. In Hands of Fate, the gamers must expand their horizons past pen-and-paper RPGs to explore two whole new realms of geekdom – Collectible Card Games (CCGs) and game convention life – and face off against their arch-nemesis: The Shadow!

What is The Gamers?

From its inception in 2001 in a college dorm basement, the oft-quoted and genre-inspiring The Gamers went on to become a viral online hit in the years before YouTube and is used to this day by role-playing gamers to show why they love gaming. Still beloved after over a decade, The Gamers is considered required viewing in RPG circles worldwide. Its sequel, The Gamers: Dorkness Rising, is a feature film released in 2008 that exploded over Netflix and Amazon. It expanded the world of The Gamers, took an in-depth look at the lives and loves of gamers away from the table, and forever answered that age-old question: who would win in a fight, pirates or ninjas*? Since 2008, Gamers fans has been clamoring for another installment in the series.

What is The Gamers: Hands of Fate?

A feature film set several years after the events of Dorkness Rising, this film follows Lodge, Joanna, Cass, Gary, and Leo to Gen Con Indy, the best four days in gaming, to spend four days gaming. It’s an ambitious project that we couldn’t have made until now!

In fact, we’re shooting much of the film at Gen Con Indy in August of 2012 – while this Kickstarter campaign is running – in order to capture crucial footage we can only get at the convention itself.

Following the conclusion of the campaign, we will move into preproduction for the rest of the shoot in October and November of 2012, then spend many months in post-production for an online release and premiere at Gen Con Indy in August 2013.

Just put in my $50 pledge!

And here’s the Kickstarter video they couldn’t get to upload on Kickstarter.

WooHoo!
We’re now at the 1/8 mark at $40,005!

And it hasn’t even been a full day yet!
Come on $320k!
