Part 1 - Profiles 101

All birthdays / anniversaries displayed are using the local timezone of the user, so there’s no longer UTC confusion.

Display now uses sub-tabs for today, tomorrow, upcoming, etc so we no longer need to cap at 20 users (this was very confusing) and of course it lazy loads as you scroll.

All user lists are displayed in likes received, then date order, so the most “popular” members of the community will be at the top of the birthday / anniversary lists. Prior to this it was in userid order which is effectively join date.

In the headers, we display actual dates instead of “Today” and “Tomorrow” and “Next Week” so it’s clear exactly what date(s) we are referring to.

By selecting one of these in the drop-down menu, you can now set the default setting of the forums you prefer. SAVE.

Consider Replying to Several Posts at Once
Rather than many sequential replies to a topic, please consider a single reply that includes quotes or @ name references to previous posts.
It’s easier for everyone to read topics that have fewer in-depth replies versus lots of small, individual replies.
It looks like your link to [website] was already posted in the topic by @ name in a reply ? mins – are you sure you want to post it again?
You mentioned @ name but they won’t be notified because they do not have access to this category. You will need to add them to a group that has access to this category.

The last reply to this topic was ? days ago. Your reply will bump the topic to the top of its list and notify anyone previously involved in the conversation.

Long post incoming and need some space? If you notice to the right side of the composer, you will see a full screen toggle (boxed in green) and now you’ll have the space you need. Click/tap again to return composer to normal.
Discourse Presence
AKA “Who is Writing a Reply?,” find out what other users besides yourself are either replying to the same topic or are prehaps editing a “Wiki” post. This can help avoid those situations where a user replies to a topic and sees that another reply was submitted a few seconds earlier.

When alerted, their avatars will be displayed to the right of the REPLY and CANCEL buttons of the posting box.

If there are no current replies but users have a saved draft for the topic, their avatars will also be shown.

To see the date of the last known draft update, just hover over their avatar.
Emoji Update
- As of June 2017, Unicode 9.0 emoji has been added. Now featuring skin tone support.
- As of July 25, 2017, New Emoji Picker. Now with more scrolling and features a search bar to search for emojis.

Part 3 - Zero Tolerance Behavior
Do not rename old, established topics
As part of the TL3 toolkit, Regulars have the power to rename topics. However we are completely against abuse of such power when it comes to old, established topics (in The Outlands especially.) Users from TAN’s past created these and as a remembrance of them and to preserve the history, it would be greatly appreciated if those who are not the author to please refrain from inappropriately changing the titles and leave them be.
Another issue here is the effect it can have on searches when people are trying to look for them. It can throw them completely off when topic titles are messed with.
Those who don’t follow through may get warned via PM with the name changed back. Repeat offenders may see a downgrade to their trust level.
