Thread of Game Soundtracks

Okay, I’ve already mentioned this in my Hyperdimension Neptunia thread, but Mk2 has some great music to it again. Nothing seems to have any lyrics, and I do like a few to have lyrics, but it’s still really well composed and great at setting the mood/tone for an event/area.

A good call, Razmoudah. I’ll have to take a look at a walkthrough of HDN Mk2 in the near future. (I dont have the system to buy the game for… bite me, tykes :P)

My favorite track from Catherine. It never gets old, no matter how long you stay in that bar (though I always recommend using the jukebox when you can to hear some classic tracks of SMT awesomeness, tykes). It’s another one of my depressing songs, but in my mind, it doesn’t really have to be. You can really unwind to this song- relieve all of your problems just by listening to it, tykes.

(And, it’s a hyper-extended edition. Enjoy, tykes! :])

Hmm, I should post some songs onto this thread. Ace Combat series has some very good ones.

edit, have to throw this in real quick

Back again for a quick track, tykes!

Here’s “Bionis’ Leg (Daytime),” from the Xenoblade Chronicles Soundtrack. Possibly my number one favorite track from the game. The opening tends to blend in well with your first arriving into the Bionis’ Leg area- a vast and lush field of journey and nature. The violin plays beautifully, and the song in general plays like a never-ending carousel around 1:20, if that makes sense.

A reviving of an old thread? Why not? ^-^

Threads truly die only if they are no longer listed. :stuck_out_tongue:

I cannot believe that a tread like this has been ignored for so long (even forgotten by me :S), but now that I found it again I think I will continue on with naming some of my recent favorites in Video Game Soundtracks.

It seems to be a running theme with me, but I pretty much always fall in love with the soundtracks of games I have never played (and never really plan to play); one such example is Mighty Switch Force! and Mighty Switch Force! 2. I could (and did) listen to their soundtracks all day long. I implore everyone to look into it, but as for now, these are two of my favorites from them (one per game):

I find myself singing this one every other day. It is just so catchy. X3

Apparently it is a 3DS game on the eshop. It looks really fun, so if I ever get a 3DS I will definitely be giving it a try. :3

In the second game, the credits song you linked replaces the title song when you beat the game (the title doesn’t have the vocals)

Yes, I own both games.

I recently have been listening to both of the Super Mario Galaxy OSTs recently, and wanted to share my two favorite tracks from them.

I just love both of them so much. The first one, Rosalina in the Observatory 3, is just such a pleasant song; I love the whole waltz feeling it has to it. :3
I dare say I love the second one, Puzzle Plank Galaxy, even more. I have spent hours listening to this song. :stuck_out_tongue:
I gave the 30 minute loops because I love them and why not.

Also, yes, if anyone asks I have seen the Karen version of Puzzle Plank. I love it. :woohoo:
I’ve recently been listening to the Mario and Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games OST. Some of the songs brought back good memories!

Back with another two tracks that I have been listening to an awful lot. This time, both are from the game Shadow of the Colossus. I believe it is unanimous among all of my friends that this game has an absolutely beautiful soundtrack (a masterpiece, almost). I have spent hours on each song for various events of the day, and I often listen to the whole OST while playing other games. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have never played the game before, but absolutely loved it when I watched one of my friends play a bit of it. I swear I was just as anxious and into the game as he was the whole time.
I cannot really say anything special about these tracks, besides the fact that I find them absolutely wonderful (the second one is especially beautiful). :3

I thought that it was a good time for me to start throwing some stuff in this thread. There is no better thing to start off with than the latest game I have just played… Dust: An Elysian Tale. What a good game that was! Here is one of my favorite tracks…

I am here to bring up some of my favorite tracks from a game whose soundtrack has managed to cumulatively make it up to almost a day of continuous music: World of Warcraft. More specifically though, it seems as though my two most favorite tracks from the game (as a whole) came from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and I never played past then, I do not have a good handle on any of the songs since then. I still go back to the WoW soundtrack every once in a while and search for certain works that I always used to love, or always seemed to overlook.

The first one, Dalaran’s theme, has always been a magnificent song to me. It seems to do well to portray the mystic nature of the city, and the feeling of unity it so well embodies. :3
Storm Peaks’ general music was not always a favorite of mine, but it got there eventually (long after I actually stopped playing). I will admit that after playing them over and over again, it has lost a bit of its magic (along with Dalaran’s theme), but I still like them the most out of any of the songs in the game up until that point.

And, of course, a very honorable mention to the http://youtu.be/85JLNFc4eT4 track.

I have not really payed too much attention to the individual tracks from Journey, but I absolutely love going through the soundtrack as some nice background music for when I am working or writing or even playing other games. ^-^

I have never played it, but I did watch one of my friends play it, and it is an absolutely beautiful game. I just love “The Road of Trials” from it, and have found its quick and upbeat sound inspiring.

Such a calming Touhou melody that I figured would fit here best…

Notzan ACT - Necrofantasia

Here are several takes, including the latest, on a theme that will forever imprint itself into my mind… :no_mouth:

Halo CE, Original - Halo

Halo Anniversary Edition - Installation 04

Halo 2, Original - Halo Theme, Mjolnir Mix

Halo 2 Anniversary Edition - Halo Theme, Gungnir Mix

It’s interesting to hear the differences of how the iconic theme has evolved between the two versions of these famous games. Personally I prefer the Mjolnir Mix the most. Halo 2 had the best soundtrack out of all the games within the franchise. Also considering that a couple rock bands contributed music to it as well.

Also on that note, I still remember when I heard this track for the first time, minus the vocals within the game, when I crossed into the Arbiter’s Chamber facing down a sea of Convenient Elite Ultras on Legendary on my first play-through. I was like… “No BLEEPING way!” I was in my gamer zen then… :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Breaking Benjamin - Blow Me Away featuring Valora

Thanks to my recent diving back into my game collection, I will likely have quite a few more soundtracks to post here, but for now here are a couple of my favorite tracks from Eternal Sonata. No Chopin pieces (of course).

I was going to put either “It’s Up to You” or “Jewel of the Heart”, but this song is just much more nice on the ears. At least to me.

A lot of the battle themes repeated a lot during the entire game (which is to be expected), but this one was always climactic for me and get me straight into it.

There were quite a few others that I am sure I liked, but did not actually stick to me when I heard them.
