Xebec, director Atsushi Ootsuki return for two DVDs bundled with 8th, 9th volumes of manga series

The May issue of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine is revealing on Thursday that the next To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness anime will be two original video anime (OVA) projects. The 8th and 9th compiled volumes of Saki Hasemi and Kentaro Yabuki’s original manga will each bundle an anime DVD. Shueisha will release the 8th volume on August 19 and the 9th volume on December 4. The deadline to pre-order the limited-edition of the 8th volume with the DVD is June 19. The anime DVD bundled with the 8th volume will be approximately 25-minutes long. That DVD anime will adapt the manga’s 18th chapter and the “Bangai-hen” that ran in the fifth issue of Shueisha’s Jump SQ. 19 magazine. The anime DVD bundled with the 9th volume will cover the 28th chapter of the manga and the Bangai-hen that ran in the fourth and sixth issues of Jump SQ. 19.

Animation studio Xebec, director Atsushi Ootsuki, and character designer Yuichi Ouka are all returning from last year’s television anime series to work on the two video anime projects.

The official Twitter account for the To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness anime confirmed earlier this month that a new anime project had been green-lit.

Sentai Filmworks licensed last year’s television anime adaptation of the manga, and The Anime Network streamed the series in North America.

The fifth volume of the original manga also bundled an anime DVD last year.

[size=20]Jump Square Holds To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness Heroine Poll[/size]
posted on 2015-05-01 15:00 EDT
Let us know your choices in the ANN poll!

The June issue of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine announced that it’s holding a popularity poll for the heroines of To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness. Fans of the series can vote in multiple categories including:

  1. Which character would you want to be your girlfriend (or wife)?
  2. Which character would you want to be in your family (but not as a wife/girlfriend)?
  3. Which character would you want to be your friend?
  4. Which character would be your favorite if all the heroines were in an idol group?
  5. Which character would you want to switch bodies with for just one day?
  6. What is the series’ best “trouble” scene?
  7. What “hoshi uchu” item do you want the most?
  8. What should be Rito’s next “shameless transformation?”

Jump Square will publish the results in one of its upcoming issues this year with a special colored result page by manga artist Kentaro Yabuki. A lottery will also be held with five lucky winners getting color artwork by Yabuki and Saki Hasemi.

We’ve decided to hold our own character poll for the first five questions, and you can let us know your answers to the last three in the forums.

To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness manga, a sequel of the first To Love-Ru -Trouble- series, launched in Jump Square in 2010. The series has 14 million copies in print. The series is inspiring a second anime season this summer, and also has multiple game adaptations.

ANN Readers: Your To Love-Ru Heroine Picks Are In

posted on 2015-05-06 17:45 EDT by Lynzee Lamb

The June issue of Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine is currently taking votes for its To Love-Ru -Trouble- Darkness heroine poll. While Shueisha hasn’t announced when the results will be published, the ANN readers weighed in on the questions themselves. The results were actually diverse, with only one character topping two areas.

[details=Which character would you want to be your girlfriend (or wife)?]

1.Yui Kotegawa 25.0%
2. Momo Belia Deviluke 24.5%
3. Lala Satalin Deviluke 13.5%
4.Golden Darkness 10.8%
5. Mikan Yūki 8.6%
6.Haruna Sairenji 4.5%
7. Nana Astar Deviluke 3.7%
8.Tearju Lunatique 1.7%
9. Mea Kurosaki 1.3%
10. Risa Momioka 1.2%

Readers chose the the tsundere, well-mannered Yui. She will undoubtedly call you “shameless” when you forget to mow the lawn or leave your dirty laundry on the floor.[/details]

[details=Which character would you want to be in your family (but not as a wife/girlfriend)?]

1.Mikan Yūki 41.9%
2.Golden Darkness 10.9%
3.Lala Satalin Deviluke 7.6%
4. Momo Belia Deviluke 6.8%
5. Celine 6.7%
6.Nana Astar Deviluke 5.3%
7. Haruna Sairenji 4.4%
8. Yui Kotegawa 3.5%
9. Tearju Lunatique 2.0%
10.Nemesis

Rito’s 12-year-old sister Mikan was the top choice. She’s shown in the manga to be very reliable and well suited to taking care of the house and her older brother.[/details]

[details=Which character would you want to be your friend?]

1.Golden Darkness 17.8%
2.Lala Satalin Deviluke 14.6%
3.Momo Belia Deviluke 12.6%
4. Yui Kotegawa 8.2%
5.Haruna Sairenji 8.0%
6. Mea Kurosaki 7.3%
7.Nana Astar Deviluke 5.3%
8. Mikan Yūki 5.1%
9. Risa Momioka 4.4%
10.Nemesis 3.9%

Initially a villain sent to assassinate Rito, Golden Darkness instead ends up building a close friendship with Mikan. The two become friendly after many attempts on Mikan’s part to win over the seemingly stoic Yami. She’d probably be a great friend to hang out at the library with and eat taiyaki.[/details]

[details=Which character would be your favorite if all the heroines were in an idol group?]

1.Momo Belia Deviluke 20.1%
2. Yui Kotegawa 15.6%
3.Lala Satalin Deviluke 14.3%
4.Golden Darkness 13.9%
5. Run Elise Jewelria 8.8%
6.Mikan Yūki 6.0%
7. Nana Astar Deviluke 4.9%
8. Mea Kurosak 3.1%
9. Nemesis 2.5%
10. Haruna Sairenji 2.4%

Momo would likely excel in an idol group setting with her more than capable acting abilities.[/details]

[details=Which character would you want to switch bodies with for just one day?]

1.Golden Darkness 31.6%
2.Lala Satalin Deviluke 11.7%
3. Yui Kotegawa 10.5%
4.Momo Belia Deviluke 8.7%
5. Nemesis 6.1%
6. Tearju Lunatique 5.1%
7.Mea Kurosaki 4.4%
8. Mikan Yūki 3.9%
9. Nana Astar Deviluke 2.8%
10. Ryoko Mikado 2.7%

Being Golden Darkness for a day also means you can physically transform, attack people with your hair, create wormholes, and do a whole bunch of destruction on your foes.
