I downloaded a few demos today, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Just Cause 2 and Darksiders.
SC:C is really fun, but the demo is ridiculously short. It’s maybe five to ten minutes, tops. That’s just not enough time to really get a feel for the game.
I was actually quite surprised at Just Cause 2. It was absolutely, insanely fun. The demo basically just dumps you into the middle of a large section of the huge, open sandbox world for 30 minutes and tells you to cause chaos. Literally, that’s the what it says, cause chaos to open new goals. A fun game that I will probably be getting for PC.
I haven’t tried Darksiders yet. I hear its the entire first dungeon and gives you 90 minutes of play time though, so I am looking forward to it.
Playing through MGS4 right now, just got onto act 4 and watched the briefing for it, bought some weapons since it’s wednesday and I get a discount. All I really did was unlock the Javelin, bought Mosin-Nagaunt (the tranq sniper rifle from MGS3), and then bought some various types of rounds for my nade launcher that I got from the Ragin Raven fight. Of course, when I’m not using the M7, I’m using my M4 with a shotgun attachment and flashlight. I’m really just so amazed by how the game has evolved from the older MGSs.
Also, my roommate and I just downloaded Metal Gear Solid Online, and just from the few rounds that I played on that, I’m liking it more than MW2. Since it’s no where near as populated as MW2, I never experience lag due to overloaded servers. Plus the wide variety of things you can do in combat from MGS4 is almost all included in the online version, making for some unbelievably varied online play. If I walk up on an enemy and it’s too close range for my weapons, I can just equip my knife, CQC them into a hold, and slit their their throat. Plus there’s a level where you have two teams trying to find Snake who is in full Octo-camo (means he can adapt his suit instantly to camoflauge him in whatever type of terrain he’s in), so while you’re fighting the other team, you also have to find and kill snake. Being on the looking end of the camo and seeing how truly effective it is is just… amazing.
Well, that’s my two cents about MGS4, I could go on, but I’d end up writing a full paper about how much I love it.
I don’t get this at all. I installed Fallout 3 again (never had since I upgraded) and now the violence doesn’t work. At all. No dismemberment, no gore, not even a drop of blood. It worked fine at first, but now nothing. This pisses me off. =

Did you accidentally hit the violence controls and shut the blood off?
Slick

Nope, that can only actually be done by mucking around in the .ini file.
I did figure out the problem though. Turns out it was one of the mods I had added, so I just changed something around with the mod and everything has been fine since.
Been playing Alien vs. Predator. Dang it can give you a jump or two. I think playing as the alien is the funnest though. Nothing like dropping from the ceiling behind a marine and then…

Lol, I forgot to mention that. Since it’s already out in Japan, I just wanted to be impatient. Also, PS3 exclusive is exclusive.
PS3 has so many games, and I’m enjoy every moment of them.
Speaking of no games, bought Super Street fighter IV today at Fry’s. Anyone fancy a match? I’ve played a tiny bit of all the new characters, so far liking Cody the most. Still an El Fuerte main though, a sucky main at that lol.

Well, it has happened again and boy am I pissed.
Second RRoD for me now. This time I’m outside of warranty as well, which means I’ll have to buy an entirely new 360…
Sorry to hear that. I’d been more pissed about it when mine went if the extended warranty I had gotten from Sams Club had not given me the money for it back. Really wish they would figure out a permanent fix for the problem cause I’d honestly like to get another 360 even though I’ve gotten rid of most of the games I had. I’ve gone through a 360 and a Wii this generation. Yet my two last generation systems are still running fine (*knock on wood). Hopefully next generation does not have this many problems.

Well, I’m gonna try sending it in for repair. It claims that the cost of the repair would be zero (due to extension of warranty for RRoD sufferers,) but I thought for sure mine was even outside of that three years. Hopefully I won’t have to pay for repairs. Wish me luck. ;__;
I really don’t see why the 360 is this way. MS really dropped the ball with the 360. There’s no reason why I should have a $400 video game console break twice within a few years of purchase and careful usage. I remember a couple times I left my PS2 running for over 3 weeks straight and it was perfectly fine. Still is. I never had a problem with any past consoles. I wouldn’t dare do that with a 360 though. I wouldn’t even feel comfortable running it for a few hours consecutively.
I really hope MS learned from this whole debacle this gen and can at least attempt some QC with the successor to the 360; Otherwise many people are going to be avoiding them like the plague.
It’s likely a problem with earlier models only. I got my 360 new around the beginning of 2008, and I haven’t exacted treated it with optimal care. It’s been on my floor all semester, I’ve left it on periods of time extending beyond four hours. Still no RROD. All 360s I’ve heard of have been older models.
If you really want a 360 that won’t die, your best bet is most likely to buy a new one, unfortunately.
There are several methods to getting around the RROD, such as the towel trick and the penny method.
Seems like the penny trick is the most permanent option.
