Ep. 48
About time Shouji kissed her. Also nice to see Natsumi return it. He has a very good reason to return after he climbs that mountain.
Ep. 48
About time Shouji kissed her. Also nice to see Natsumi return it. He has a very good reason to return after he climbs that mountain.
Episode 48 -
Shouji is leaving and I don’t think Natsumi can deal with it. She seems to be avoiding the situation by avoiding the party. But she ends up riding her bike to the spot where Shouji’s friend’s grave is and decides to hide her feelings and put on a front.
Natsumi arrives well after the party only to find Shouji still there. Not only is he still there, but she gets there just in time to watch a Kendo match between the chief and Shouji. The chief wins, but he really didn’t, since Shouji got in the first hit. The chief finds an excuse to leave Natsumi and Shouji alone and they agree to meet later.
However, their private goodbye turns into a bit of a public party and it gave me the feeling that Shouji is trying to avoid the situation as well. Everyone drifts off and Natsumi and Shouji arm wrestle for the last beer. Natsumi wins, but I think Shouji let her and he does say something really sweet to her. But they don’t tell each other what they really want to say!
The next day, Natsumi throws herself into work and I know she’s putting on a good front again and trying to forget Shouji. But at least she finally realizes that she can’t let Shouji leave without telling him how she feels and leaves work early to catch him. At the airport, Shouji is kind of looking for her too and I think he was happy to see that she came.
However, an angry Natsumi picks a fight with him, using the excuse of him letting her win at their arm wrestling match. But Shouji protests that she won fair and square and it seems that they are both still hiding their feelings. But this great argument escalates and it ends with Shouji kissing Natsumi. Finally! But Natsumi is still the one to say she loves him and I didn’t hear him say it back to her!
I’m glad they fell in love, but I feel a little sorry for the chief. I guess he’s out of Natsumi’s picture now. But I wonder how this long distance romance is going to work out. I hope these two can be together soon. I liked the last scene with the postcard, but I wonder what it said.
Episode 49 -
Natsumi is offered a position at headquarters, and it looks like the team might be breaking up. This is a shame but I guess the time has come to move on. I wonder what’s in store for Miyuki as well.
we got a glimpse in the preview of the Kobayakawa/Futaba partnering…

Since Sentai has the follow up series, I’m sure the sequel series are a given. However, I don’t know about the movies or the OVA’s. I’m not sure if anyone has the license for those right now.
Episode 50 -
Things really fall apart when Natsumi isn’t around. Everyone misses her, but Miyuki most of all. Now it looks like Miyuki has lost Ken as well. The chief and Detective Tokuno want to give Nakajima a good talking to, but the ladies have gotten to him first and have cornered him in the men’s room of all places. But it’s nice to see everyone standing up for Miyuki. They all really care for her.
It was funny when Strikeman shows up and Miyuki almost turns into Natsumi, but he helps her realize something and she really does start acting more like Natsumi in doing the things Natsumi used to do. She decides to change and try new things and Ken is right there to help her. It turns out that he knew just what she needed after all. I also like how the chief and Tokuno were watching over her.
Miyuki comes up with a plan to catch the car thieves. Natsumi shows up and the two girls realize they’ve both learned a lot about themselves since they’ve been apart. But they did miss each other and it was really good to see them working together again. I also like the symbolism of the car in this episode.
Ep. 51
Nice to see Miyuki and Natsumi working together again. They are perfect partners. Got worried when it looked like Aoi was shot. I wanted blood for that. Nice how Miyuki figured out where the crooks were really going. What Ken did with his bike to mess up the shot was the bravest and most stupid thing ever. I bet if his dad saw that he would have been proud once the heart attack was over. Loved when they drove up the ramp on the moving truck. They sure had a long list of charges for the perps.
Was glad that Aoi injuries were not that bad. Poor Yoriko she was so scared. I really liked the montage at the end. Have to say this is one of my favorite series.
One of my favorites too, ShawnMerrow!
Episode 51 -
This was such a great episode! It was a more dramatic one and I couldn’t believe that Aoi got shot, but I’m glad she was ok. The car thieves finally got caught and although Natsumi and Miyuki have grown while apart, it’s revealed that Natsumi didn’t really leave Bokuto Station after all. She was only assigned temporarily to headquarters until the car thieves were caught. So, I’m really glad the girls are partners again. No other team is quite like them and they seem to work best when together. I also liked seeing all the other characters during the end credits.
I thought it was going to turn out that Aoi’s falsies protected her… lol…
Ep. 52 must have been made after the others, it has some CGI and the animation just looks a little different.
and when Aoi finally appears in a bikini, she’s apparently gotten implants somewhere too… lol
Ep. 52
Now that is some quality fanservice. :woohoo:
Would like to know what all those signs said. Miyuki and Natsumi sure hauled in the loot. They sure were relaxed at the end but the bikinis were not helping with the traffic.
Poor Captain.
“she’s”?
I’ve been planning to use that scene for a mot along the lines of “Traps: Some are so effective, even the animators are fooled”.
I can just see Yoriko falling in love with Aoi. I can just hear her saying, “Aahhh, does this make me gay?”
lol… yeah, because who else but her partner could put up with Yoriko’s whining? … but from everything I’ve read, Aoi’s into men. …and I say she like I would any other M2F transgendered person.
I thought what would be good for a funny episode is if a young aristocrat from some area came to an event near their station with his body guards. One particular man in the group just gets everyone’s attention, both male and female. The look is tough, masculine, yet soft. The aristocrat takes an interest in Aoi, but after helping ‘him’ back up from something, doesn’t advance on her anymore. The good looking guard does though. At the end, the aristocrat starts talking while both can hear him though are out of sight, but he knows they are there. “Aoi is an interesting guy. Yes, I know ‘she’ is really a he. Something about him just felt slightly off, but when I helped him up, I saw where he had the males center of balance. It is different between the genders. My top guard finds ‘him’ attractive, but ‘she’ won’t ask ‘him’ out. You didn’t realize ‘he’ is a she? She has been my guard since I was ten, but my parents did not like the idea of a young woman guarding their teenage son. So she started to act more masculine, and started to be more masculine until I called her ‘he’ out of respect. Crazy world, no?” I could see how many confused characters and jokes there could be in that.
That could be a funny episode, red. I don’t know why the writers missed such an idea (although there’s two other seasons out there, so who knows?) I once had an idea for an episode of M.A.S.H. that revolved around a similar confusion. The idea was that a Navy pilot that was shot down was brought to the 4077th. He was a lieutenant, which is the equivalent of a captain in the Army. I envisioned all sorts of confusion and “I’m not a captain, I’m a lieutenant” “I’m not a lieutenant, I’m a captain” dialog. Colonel Potter would have even been involved as the pilot would think he’s a captain. Sadly, I didn’t know how to get the idea to the writers, much less if they would have accepted it.
Comments on the Movie.
Got to see the movie last week. I really enjoyed it and was happy it had the same VA as the first season. A full scale assault on Bokuto Station was something to see. The chase at the end was insane.
I do wonder why always paint or plastic rounds for Bokuto cops? That sniper shot Miyuki made would be impossible with a paint round. I have seen paintball guns almost shoot sideways due to the smooth bore. Just wonder what they had against them using live rounds.
It’s good to see the second season airing on VOD!
Episode 1 -
Nice to see that Saori is finally a police officer and that she’s assigned to Bokuto. Natsumi and Miyuki get to be her mentors too and Saori had quite an interesting first day. And Aoi looks completely different!
Wicca:
the all look somewhat different, but Aoi and Yoriko have changed the most. I am very pleased to see Inspector Kaoruko Kinoshita in the credits, which means we’ll get to see more of her this season. It’s also good to see Shouji Toukairin back from his mountain climbing-perhaps he and Natsumi can “inspire” Miyuki and Kenny to move forward with their relationship.
Yes, I noticed they all changed a little bit, but Aoi was the most dramatic. I liked Shouji’s caterpillar/sleeping bag tree bit too. And I agree with you as well.
