Aoi was the only officer at Bokuto station who had any experience working under cover. Could you have seen that whiny Yorico try to pull off that assignment? Miyuki would have been able to do it, however-in fact, she did!
Aoi has become so ladylike she acts like one when confronted by that guy, right down to finally kneeing him in the groin. You’d think between being a guy and being police trained, she’d have just decked him and knocked him on his butt (or used some other self defense moves), ladylike image or not, especially with no one around to see it. I know I would have, and I’m sure Natsume would have too. But it was sweet of her afterwards to trade jobs with Miyuki so she could spend some time with Ken.
And I agree about Yoriko, too, sheesh. Sometimes she makes this look like the Japanese version of the “Police Academy” movies (all we need is that guy who does all the sound impressions).
Natsumi wants her driver’s license and the entire force is afraid that she’ll actually get it! And so, the betting begins! The Chief asks Miyuki the odds of Natsumi getting the license and even he joins the betting.
Natsumi dreams of impressing the Chief with her driving skills. Unfortunately it was during class. More misfortune when she makes the dummy explode during CPR class. And then she instructor prays not to die during the practical test – with good reason, since he all but passes out after the exam. Natsumi gets a perfect score too! I’m sure that was an accident!
While the Chief is still calculating the odds, the poor instructor is thinking of quitting. However, his superior encourages him and is determined that Natsumi ultimately fails, so gets the mechanics involved.
Natsumi comes to the office and announces to one and all that she has gotten her learner’s permit! Her co-workers groan, but the Chief praises her, perhaps because he is winning the bet, and Natsumi actually glows under his praise.
On the day of the real test, the instructor’s superior will be testing Natsumi. She notices something odd about the car they’re in and the superior, a former cop, knows why – it’s been rigged so she’ll fail! He knows that she won’t be able to handle the resistance, but when they witness a hit and run accident, she chases after the truck and the superior finds out she’s a cop. They pass Miyuki and Yoriko on patrol and they follow Natsumi. She does some pretty crazy driving and then the steering wheel comes of in her hands, but she manages to stop the truck anyway.
The superior is just thankful that he isn’t dead as Miyuki and Yoriko pull up, but vomits repeatedly as Miyuki and Yoriko make the arrest. He tells Natsumi that she has “spunk” but fails her anyway because he feels that she isn’t ready for a license yet.
Now Natsumi is back with her old instructor and his superior looks on in satisfaction. And Natsumi passes and gets her license! The Chief wins all bets and compliments Natsumi. She snuggles against his arm and tells him that he is the first one that she wants to take on a “joyride” and as he tries to come up with excuses not to go, the rest of the office cheers them on.
In order to catch a crook preying on the elderly, the force is ordered to get to know the senior citizens of the neighborhood and gain their trust. It’s funny that one old man is so “loving” towards Aoi and Yoriko. He thinks Aoi is his wife and Yoriko is his first sweetheart!
The woman that Ken visits keeps thinking that he’s from the Post Office and wants him to find her package. She invites him in and goes to make tea. After a while, Ken wonders what happened to her and goes to look for her. He finds her in the bath and she calls him a pervert and says that he should just leave her letter in the mailbox.
Miyuki drops Natsumi off at an old lady’s house and tells her to behave. However, the thief is in this particular house and he poses as the old lady – what a master of disguise! He keeps trying to get rid of Natsumi and can’t. Natsumi can’t make tea properly and her cooking is worse. Thankfully, Miyuki finally shows up and notices some odd things about the old lady.
Then Ken shows up with his little old lady to return a chest she borrowed. The crook is stuck with another cop and I think Ken really likes seeing Miyuki in an apron! Dinner is prepared for all and Miyuki notices more strangeness. The girls finally realize that the old lady is a fake and it’s confirmed when the real old lady returns home.
The girls catch the thief and Ken “the mailman” gets to carry the heavy chest back to the old lady’s house because she made a mistake and only needed to return something that was in the chest. Miyuki walks back with them and the old lady thinks they’re married! Funny how the old lady says that she’s never wrong about those things.
Saori playing with the kids is fun to watch. Of course she would pick up a dead drop as a lost item. Only Natsume would fight the bad guys with thrown fish. She could get a second career at Pike’s Market in Seattle, WA. LOL
Natsumi got some great reactions from her co-workers when she announced she was getting a car. Even the chief didn’t like the idea. Guess he didn’t like his joyride with Natsumi.
I thought it funny that Natsumi is so dumb when it comes to cars. Loved her version of “power” features on the piece of junk car she got. I can’t believe that she got cheated by a charming fake salesman!
But I did like how Miyuki combined the motorcycle with the car – now that was a cool vehicle! And of course they get the crook. I agree with Natsumi too that she should stick to bikes. Miyuki spent all that time and effort on the car and Natsumi managed to ruin it in a matter of minutes!
I suspect part of it is they’re picking on that model car as being cheap/unreliable even when it’s in good condition - sort of like the Japanese equivalent to a Yugo.
Boy that pop star sure had one hell of an ego. Bet the person cleaning his record was high up in the chain of command. I did like how the chief secretly helped them out. Though Chief your only as old as you feel, go for Natsumi.
Strikeman is back! This time he gets involved in helping look for a missing kitten, but of course he’s no help and only makes more work for everyone.
Natsumi is a real little kid sometimes! She kept getting the booby prize from the grab bag, while the little boys got the good prizes.
Fantastic rescue by Ken! He saved the little girl and the kitten and even the little girl’s book. And surprise, surprise. Strikeman actually helped solve another case as he was messing up this one.
Wow, the cute was strong with this one. Natsumi getting excited by the grab bag was funny and her poor luck. Agree Ken’s rescue of the little girl was amazing.
Yoriko is still whiny and annoying. I can’t believe that she was so upset that all the molesters were hitting on Aoi and ignoring her!
The whole train chase was pretty exciting. I like how Aoi used her basketball skills to outmaneuver the thief. Another daring move by Natsumi and the thieves get captured!
Looks like Natsumi and Shouji are finally becoming friends. I think Shouji might even like Natsumi more than a friend. It’s nice to see them together when they aren’t trying to outdo each other.
Another exciting episode. Glad that Natsumi and Shouji rescued the little boy in time. They do work well together and have come to care about each other. Shouji even admits this to Natsumi during a stressful moment.
But Shouji has changed. His heart doesn’t seem to be in things lately and he looks distracted. I wonder what he told Natsumi to upset her. Is he leaving?
