Yuruyuri’s Sakurako & Himawari’s Marriage Registration Offered
posted on 2011-08-29 18:30 EDT Editor’s joke turns into “reality” as bonus extra in next Comic Yuri Hime issue
As a joke, Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime magazine editor-in-chief Naritaro Nakamura posted on his Twitter account on Sunday that the magazine’s November issue would bundle a filled-out marriage registration form for the characters Sakurako and Himawari from Namori’s Yuruyuri manga. Sakurako and Himawari are a popular yuri couple from this manga, which follows several fun-loving schoolgirls who take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own “Gorakubu” (amusement club).
Nakamura later wrote that he was considering whether the magazine really should bundle the form. He then posted that if his Twitter account received more than 2,000 followers, that the magazine would include the “proper government form.”
Nakamura’s Twitter account now has over 2,400 followers.
Nakamura confirmed on Sunday that the November issue of Comic Yuri Hime would bundle Sakurako and Himawari’s marriage registration form. Nakamura cautioned that Sakurako is not so smart, so she probably “filled” out the form improperly. As a result, the editor noted (tongue-in-cheek) that the government would probably reject the form.
The November issue will go on sale on September 17.
Comic Yuri Hime has been publishing Yuruyuri since Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime S magazine ended publication in 2010. Ichijinsha released the seventh volume of the manga in Japan on July 28.
An anime adaptation of Yuruyuri began airing in Japan in July, and Crunchyroll is currently simulcasting the anime outside of Japan.
[details=spoiler]It was humorous when Akari realized, that the girl that was picking on them when they were kids, was the same girl that was sitting across the table from here… Chinatsu.
Of course, no one put it together but her, including Chinatsu, but she decided to keep her mouth shut about it.[/details]
I’d also love it if one of the R1 companies would pick it up, so I could have the first season in my collection.
Looking at who picks up what in terms of licenses, Sentai is probably the best candidate for a yuri title.
But seeing as how they haven’t picked it up yet, it’s probably either too expensive, or they just didn’t want it.
Which is kind of sad, since it was actually rather enjoyable.
If not Sentai, then maybe Media Blasters; after all, they’ve released yuri titles as well: Simoun, Staberry Panic, and one they just re-released with a new dub - the name escapes me at the moment. Plus, the also got yaoi…don’t forget the yaoi.

Media Blasters is another option as well.
Though I always kind of thought they were more inclined to get the more edgier yuri stuff, than the fun playful slice-of-life yuri stuff.

KashiMashi, it was my first Anime preorder in ages earlier this year.
I noticed that YuruYuri was selling in the Japanese market, so it would be nice to see it here. It is a funny show and I think it is light enough on the Yuri content to not raise too many hackles here in the U.S.
