Crunchyroll Adds Second Season of “YuruYuri” Anime

June 15, 2012 1:45pm CDT
The Amusement Club returns in “YuruYuri♪♪”

Picking up right where we left off with the Amusement Club, Crunchyroll is adding the second season of YuruYuri to its summer lineup. The original cast returns for season two, as does director Masahiko Ohta (Rozen Maiden, Minami-ke).

Full details regarding territories and streaming dates for season two of YuruYuri will be announced soon. Crunchyroll’s synopsis:

Get some laughs with the return of YuruYuri!

The ‘Amusement Club’ foursome continue their unusual activities – though still not clearly defined, organized, or explained – in the illegally-occupied-by-the-club room of the former tea ceremony! While the Student Council continues to attempt to shut them down, we can all rest assured that these girls will continue to maintain the same level of laid back fun that made us fall in love with them in the first place!

Pretty expected, but still nice to have confirmation.

Yuruyuri♪♪ season inspired by Namori’s manga to premiere on July 2

The latest 126-second promotional video for Yuruyuri♪♪, the second anime season inspired by Namori’s manga, debuted on Friday.

As in first season and the original manga, the second season follows four fun-loving schoolgirls who take over the former room of a tea ceremony club for their own “Gorakubu” (amusement club).

The first 12-episode anime season ran from July to September, and Crunchyroll will stream the second season outside Japan as it did for the first season. ALC Publishing announced on Thursday that it will release the original manga digitally through JManga.

The second season will premiere on July 2.

The territories haven’t been announced yet, but it looks like they put up a placemarker for ep. 1 on the YuruYuri page.
Available 6 Days from now

Ep. 01 of YuruYuri♪♪

What a way to start the season!
Man that episode had me rolling almost the entire time.

I know this show is always hilarious.

Finished up Ep. 02

Seriously…

Kyouko really does need a cure for stupidity!

Finished up ep. 03

We finally get to see Akari’s obsessive sister!
Though it was only a quick pan at the very end.

Episode 1 –

spoiler

However did Akari get to be so popular? This has got to be a dream! And so it is. But it’s great to see these characters again and I did like the cute Akari cookies. And Akari eats an entire cake in one bite! The ping-pong game with all the “hair effects” was hysterical too!

Finished up Ep. 04

Man I love this series!
I really wish Sentai would have picked this one up.
There’s still time though!

Ep. 05

Poor Akari.
They sure pick on her a lot throughout this series.

Kyoko’s little battery adventures was pretty fun though.

Ep. 06

They really need to make a spinoff anime of Mirakurun!
I’d watch it!

Ep. 07

Ha!
It’s a full-on sister episode!
That was so great!

Ep. 08

It’s all about Chinatsu this episode!

The dark and obscure ED animation of Chinatsu’s drawings of her and Yui was just fantasitclly funny though!
Gotta love poor Chinatsu and her inability to grasp that her art is less than savory.

Ep. 09

More Chinatsu!

The whole closet scene was funny as hell!
And who knew Kyoko & Sakurako would have so much in common.

[size=16]It’s Mirakurun![/size]

I would be estatic if they ever decided to make a Mirakurun anime spinoff series, or hell, even just a 2-3 episode OVA.

Coffee,

I would spring for an OVA or two, not to mention wanting that figure!

Ep. 10

According to the next ep. preview, the next ep. is the final.
Though I’m still hoping for a 12th episode.

[details=spoiler]More Himawari & Sakurako!

Poor Akari, haviung to spend alone time with Chinatsu, of all people.

Chinatsu has to be the most disturbing of the main cast, and probably the most disturbing in the entire cast, beside Akari’s sister, Akane[/details]

Ep. 11

Looks like this was the last episode, though we still get an episode 12 finale!

Looks like they were trying to make up for mostly ignoring Akari this season!

[details=spoiler]So, Akari goes back a year in time and tries to stop hereself from making various mistakes, which she believes is what led to her non-presence getting worse, thereby giving her less screen time.

An amusing little romp through the past, only to find out, it’s just a little story Kyoko cooked up in her head.[/details]

Ep. 12

So sad to see this one end.

However, what a way to end the season!!

[details=spoiler]This episode was all about a dysfunctional version of Snow White as a stage plage put on by the main/side cast for the school.
-lol-
And man was it funny as hell![/details]
