TWC San Antonio, TX 78251

Still nothing from the January 19 update. I called my local Time Warner Cable support number and got a very helpful agent (and fellow anime watcher) to confirm that my local TWC branch has not yet received anything from the Anime Network (or whoever handles distribution for them) for the January 19th update.

After the agent chatted with a supervisor and some people from Network Services they came back with the standard (and probably official) response that TWC puts up content as it is received from their various providers and that any missing content would because it was not delivered to them as expected.

I referred the agent to this thread so they could see the post from Slowhand about the issues with this week’s update for TWC and BrightHouse customers. The agent wouldn’t say much more than what I mentioned above but said they would try to put a note in to see why the content was not delivered and if there was anything they could do from their end.

Since some TWC customers reported getting the missing update some time later I am wondering if the market / distribution center for my area was not on the list for receiving the second attempt at distribution that Slowhand mentioned.

Slowhand, please take note: I know this is low priority - we’re only missing Episode 1 “The World God Only Knows” - but you might be interested to know that DirecTV is blaming The Anime Network for the missing episode.

Please also note that I’ve removed the ticket number and customer rep ID from the transcript of DirecTV’s response. That information can be provided to you by PM if you so request.

I may be mistaken, but I don’t believe it was there as of last Saturday. It is here now (1/23/2012). This leads into my next newbie question: Is it important for you to know whether the updates arrived on the specified day, as opposed to arriving the next day, or the day after? Or is it just important to tell you what we’ve gotten by the time we file our report? For example, no updates arrived this week on 1/19/12; they still weren’t there 1/20/12; but it did all seem to be here <Albany NY, 12203 et al, Time Warner> when I checked in the wee hours of 1/22/12. (That is, with the important exception of ef 1.) Is that something you want us to track?

Also, sometimes we seem to get updates in separate waves, some one day, some the next–would that be relevant data for you or just TMI?

Missing in Action:

One other oddity, not involving updates, but involving the way The World God Only Knows interacts with the viewer controls. When I sampled the first episode, I found that once you get past the Anime Network opening, the Fast Forward (and Rewind) causes the screen to freeze. So this week I checked the second episode, and it’s the same way. In both cases, the picture remains static, while the time index continues to increase (or decrease) and the location indicator on the bar moves forwards (or backwards). Then, when you drop out of Fast Forward (or Rewind), you jump to the point in the show indicated by the time index. So you can Fast Forward (or Rewind)–you just can’t see what you’re Fast Forwarding (or Rewinding) to. This strikes me as…suboptimal. My guess is that this is due to the way the episodes were processed, as opposed to some flaw in the viewer software. Is this the proper place place to report things like this, or is there some other thread I should use?

No, not really important for me to know if they are received on Thursday. I turn in my report on Monday afternoon, so I really need to know by then. A lot of people report in on Thursday and then report back on Monday (if they are missing eps), so I can get a clearer picture of episodes that arrive late.

It is helpful to know which services routinely update late, but it’s not essential, especially if you have better things to do with your time.

TWC, NY, 13215: all here, on time. New show Himawari Too (okay, but Free30 didn’t get the first season?) which for some reason is appearing twice in my listing. If anything changes there I’ll edit this post to reflect it.

I noted the same picture freeze on fast forward issue as mentioned in a previous post, only affecting that one show.

Here in Austin, TX 78750 on Time Warner Cable we missed all the episodes last week and don’t seem to any any new episodes this week either. I was hoping that both last week and this week would show up today, but no luck. :frowning:
