{0) Would Anime Network take requests? I mean, if we’re going to get old shows anyway, why not ones that were incomplete (for us) the first time around, or ones we wouldn’t mind seeing again, or ones that may be old but are new to us? The floor is now open for nominations (don’t fall into the hole)–but in the interest of not clogging things up too much, let’s limit ourselves to only two from each category:
Incomplete: Glass Maiden (we never received the last episode) and Penguindrum (they only showed us an episode or two by mistake);
Old But Unseen by Me: Akikan! (such a WiJiTy premise!) and The Familiar of Zero (there certainly seems to be a lot of it);

That’s not a typo. Just about half of collection 2 hasn’t shown up yet. I am doing a system refresh which takes a couple hours to complete, and I will see if the missing episodes show up afterwards.

I’ve noticed a small anomaly I think is worth noting: the blue dots that mark an episode as “new” have not gone away for last week’s episodes–i.e., they’re still marked as “new”, along with this week’s genuinely new episodes. (Well, if you can count “Special A” , “Fate/Stay Night”, etc. reruns as “genuinely new”.) The pattern has been that the dots get removed from the old episodes before the round of four-week-old episodes are deleted.(with the exception of the immortal AoharuxMachinegun #6 and To Love Ru #8, that is). This didn’t happen this week, which may or may not be significant. (Maybe a batch job was a little off, or there was a programming change?)
Sorry! Yes, I do have that episode. I’m even trying to watch it as an LSR (Least Stale Rerun)–though I confess I’m having trouble maintaining my willing suspension of disbelief in some of these characters’, er, suspension. As well as the fact that the only reason any of the heroes survive is that they seemingly operate in a Why-Does-Clark’s-Pair-of-Glasses-Make-It-Impossible-for-People-to-Recognize-He’s-Superman?-type universe, given how careless they are. (To give just one example, they use each others’ real names over the radio, for pity’s sake!) And they don’t even have the benefit of "unconscious low-level Kryptonian super-hypnotism focused by the super-lenses of his glasses, taken from the window of Baby Kal-el’s rocketship "…
(I kid you not–that was an actual explanation given in the comic, in a story back in what I think was the Bronze Age: Superman had to use regular glasses for some reason that eludes me now, and suddenly everyone was telling Clark, “Why are you trying to pass yourself off as Clark Kent, Superman? A pair of glasses isn’t enough to fool us–you look nothing like him!”)
