Oh, I wholeheartedly concur about the highly irritating “you can’t watch the naughty bits unless you upgrade”–plus some decidedly non-naughty series, like Dennou Coil, are behind the paywall as well. But I suppose they have to make their money somehow. I’m trying to ignore the annoyance and just keep repeating “Half a loaf is better than no bread,” under my breath. There’s also the rebecca1/2 factor–as I recall, in the forgotten fora of yesteryear, she once asked why she should watch anime hunched over her laptop or PC, when she’s got her nice setup with her TV and remote and comfy chair and snack table, etc. (Yeah, I could go through the hassle of setting up a laptop to sync with my router and feed into my TV, etc., etc.–but the interface would still be a pain.) Watching one or two shows on my PC during the current repeat desert is OK, but–HDive’s “Get your binge on!” motto to the contrary–more than that is a pain in the neck. And back. And butt.
On a related note, maybe Anime Network really does take requests? Back on August 10th, when I opened the floor for nominations for what shows we’d like to see, two of my nominees were Akikan! and Glass Maiden. And lo and behold, here they are. Thanks, AN! If I’d known they were coming, I wouldn’t have started watching Akikan! on HDive. So now I’ll stop that and wait for Anime Network’s run to catch up…
Glass Maiden was shown some years back. Actually, most of the titles (at this moment) have already been shown. The only exception is Frame Arm Girls.
It makes me wonder if Anime Network is running out of titles to show or what. As for Aikikan! – it is good to see a new title is going to debut soon.

The only good news is some of this week’s updates have shown up (but not all of the new episodes). The bad news continues as none of the missing episodes reported for the past several weeks were ever reloaded by Frontier. This resulted in several weeks of missing episodes (such as the August 31 and September 7 updates) that were never available to watch.
And with only 1 new episode being added the last 2 weeks, the new episodes added today results in several shows missing their 2 middle episodes. The latest list of over 60 missing episodes is shown below.

So checking in on a random listed episode: Upperclassmen! brings up: Another Training Camp! instead.
This makes some sense because Upperclassmen!, Aka, Seniors! is episode 1 of season 2.
In addition, there are currently 16 episodes listed for K-ON! on the X1 app. All 14 episodes from season 1 are there, alongside the messed up title listing mentioned above, as well as another one: No Club Room! (S2 E17) which is actually: New Club Member!

Yes, they did show Glass Maiden a long while back–but we never got the last episode here. So, being my typically cranky self, I’ve been whining and bellyaching about it all these years. We’ll see if they show me the final episode this time around, or if it’ll be a Lucy-snatching-the-football-away scenario once again. It’s not available on HDive, after all, so it’s a perfect setup…
