This is one of the more anticipated series of the season, but so far, it looks like this one hasn’t got a simulcast yet.
I wonder if this is the last CR simulcast announcement.
Or maybe we’ll get really lucky, and Sentai/TAN will simulcast two series this season! -one can dream-

OK, did anyone else look at the Subject and go “Wha? What does ‘Scarlet Ammo’ have to do with an anime about female gondoliers on a terraformed Mars?”

That, is actually the exact reason I looked into it when it first popped up on the season charts.

I was like “Oooo! Another Aria! Yay!”
Then got all disappointed it wasn’t.

But it seems to be fairly high in the season anticipation rankings, I would venture to guess because they enjoyed the Light novel/manga.

This looks like it might be good. I’ll admit; after watching the trailer, I already have a favorite character! I think you’ll know why…

Hidan no Aria was actually the one I was expecting to be TAN’s simulcast this season, primarily because until TAN simulcast Infinite Statos this season, no series that had TBS as the primary network had been simulcast in the past 2 years, and Aria is also a TBS series.

With the simulcast they announced for Spring 2011, they actually broke another long dry spell, as it had been a year since the last anime from SHAFT had been simulcast.

As for Crunchyroll’s last(?) simulcast announcement of the season, there are strong indications it will be Ao no Exorcist.

I expect the best we can hope for Aria the Scarlett Ammo is that Sentai licenses it quickly, as they did with Yumekui Merry (another TBS series) not long into the Winter season. An eventual DVD release and possible rollout to the online player is certainly better than no license at all.

I sure did.

It looks like it might be interesting.

sbitzer, I didn’t know you were a fan of the Dragunov…

Hmmm… Girls with guns… My kind of anime! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

 Ok, you got me too. I saw the title of the thread and thought a new Aria the Scarlet would appear, but then I couldn’t figure out what Ammo had to do with it. Now I know!

After watching the trailer, I’m intrigued and the music is catchy. Another one to check out!

Not sure it will be what we get if TAN gets another simulcast this season. I’m leaning more towards it will probably end up on Funimation if CR does not snatch it as their last one.

As I said, one can dream.
I really didn’t think they’d pick up Maria Holic Alive as a simulcast, particularly since they passed up last seasons Shinbo/Shaft project (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) which I was really disappointed about.

I was hoping they’d shoot for something a little more popular/anticipated this season to go along with Maria Holic.

Though, Sentai did pick up Yumekui Merry in the middle of last season, which was actually one of the two things I wanted to see picked up last season, so I figured I’d throw out my wish for this one as well.

New PV that actually shows the animation.

I love the song as well.

Well at least looks like she has good taste in pistols.

Hmm music isnt enough to get my, but I am rather liking that animation, will have to make sure to watch this.

Anime of Chugaku Akamatsu’s light novels debuted on Thursday

The seventh Blu-ray Disc and DVD volume of the Aria the Scarlet Ammo television anime series will ship in Japan on December 21 with the 12th television episode and an unaired episode. The anime adaptation of Chūgaku Akamatsu’s light novel series just debuted in Japan on Thursday, and the first Blu-ray/DVD volume will ship on June 22.

That video… The guns! The detail!!!

Colt M1911A1s

Beretta 92FS INOX (that’s stainless steel) And the greatest thing, is when he takes it out, the safety is on, and he has his thumb ready to take it off… OH THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL!!!

And I think I caught a glimpse of an Uzi…

I figured this was going to happen, I still wished Sentai grabbed it though.

Press Release

Flower Mound, Texas (April x, 2011) – FUNimation Entertainment announced today it is partnering with Media Factory, Inc. for the exclusive U.S. online simulcast of the action comedy series “Aria the Scarlet Ammo.”

The first two episodes will be available at www.funimation.com/video (or do we have a new link to use?) starting Tuesdau, April 26 at 10:00 am CST, following its Japanese broadcast debut on TBS. Each week a new episode will be added to the site in addition to third-party streaming partners.

Takashi Watanabe (“Freezing,” “Slayers” franchise) directs this anime adaptation of Ch?gaku Akamatsu’s light novel series about a special school where the teenaged students are trained to use weapons and become mercenaries. Kinji Tooyama is a second-year-student who has a special ability, but he keeps it a secret to maintain an ordinary, peaceful life. Unfortunately, this ability is beyond his control - especially around girls. This becomes clear one day when he is targeted in a bombing and he meets H. Aria Kanzaki, a fiery transfer student who wants to recruit him as her partner.

Added the link to watch it to the first post.

Just finished up the first two eps.

I love the OP song! (same song from the promo I posted)
Not sure if I’ll like the series though.
Interesting concept as it is, Aria is one serious tsundere character. Enough to be really annoying at times.

Yeah…this show’s all over the place. Not sure where exactly it’s going or what the overall vibe it’s gonna take. I have a felling it’s gonna be like IS in that the whole guns and swords aspect is going to be relegated to second place, and instead be wacky rom-com.

Aria reminds me so much of Taiga and Shana, what with her trademark “Urasai”. And being voiced by the same VA kinda helps with that too.

Liked the ED more so than the OP.

Watched the first two episodes. Definitely not the Aria I was used to, hehe. It will be interesting to see where they take the series, but I read it was based off some light novels first.
