Brain Drain

FedEx is pissing me off. An order I have made recently has last been tracked in Ohio last Friday. It first entered Ohio last Wednesday… This has been the second time a package I got through FedEx’s ship to Post Office service has gotten lost in route. At least it didn’t start bouncing through states like last time (Yet). If it’s a repeat of what happened last time, FedEx will find the package, give up, and deliver it to a post office in Ohio (or whatever state it pops up in)

I need to contact the store this package came from and ask if I could have a non-FedEx shipping option for this recurring purchase.

I’ve noticed that Amazon used the FedEx / USPS combo a lot in our area ( Central Florida ) up until late 2014, they opened their own Hub in Tampa with a satellite warehouse in Davenport ( About 20 miles from us ). They do their own delivery to the USPS now and even when packages ship from out of state they don’t seem to wander around like they did with the FedEx / USPS service.

Oh I almost forgot. Did everything happen to go smoothly without complications @Slowhand?

My package finally appeared! Next stop, post office

And it may have gotten lost in Michigan now… In the past, it would have at least gotten to the post office by now…

Your package got lost in a mitten. Maybe they need a hand.

Well this is annoying…

Slow just told me that she found me on Twitter. However, it isn’t me. I have never had a Twitter or any other kind of social media account, nor will I.

So, if you see this Kellie Burnett chick on Twitter as LadyOfWicca, please know that it is not me. The only place I post is here. And it really annoys me that someone took my user name.

From what Slow tells me, some of my Photobucket album pics have also appeared on Twitter.

There is just no privacy anymore! I sometimes hate this age of technology!

@LadyOfWicca I’ve told our corporate security people this several times; “If someone professionally competent wants our company information then they already have it, you don’t know they have it and you will never find out how they got it.” Security is, beyond a certain point, theater and of little use. They never argue with me.

Needless to say you and I can’t be sure of any privacy or security, we don’t have a tiny fraction of the resources that a corporation has … and they can’t be sure either.

That is very unfortunate Wicca. :frowning: How dare they?! Though powerless to do much, that would still piss me off.
Name change to @TheRealFirstLadyofWicca.

Does anyone do any genealogy research? And kind of family tree hunting at all?

My ancestry on my Father’s side - German, French, English, Scots & Irish. On my Mother’s side - English, Scots, Irish, Native American ( Choctaw ) & Arab. This was researched when my Grandmother and her sisters decided to join the DAR.

It’s is fun to tell recent immigrants what my ancestry is, I’ve been told that most Americans don’t know. The Arab part got many surprised looks from Arab students in College back in the late 70’s. They were fascinated that a Blue Eyed Fair Skinned guy had a documented lineage that included their people.

@mgosdin

So, you don’t do any research yourself? I’m trying to find some additional free sites to do some digging. Most places want an arm and a leg to do any lookups.

yes i know

No I don’t, my brother was involved in my Grandmother’s research but that was long before the internet. My cousin did the same on my Father’s side of the family. Neither of them is missing any limbs.

I only care enough to know three of my grandparents are black. The last one is Polish.

What the heck is wrong with people?

Tow Truck Driver Leaves Woman With Disabilities On Side Of Highway Because She Supports Bernie Sanders
May 6, 2016

I would imagine these type of situations are not uncommon but it’s extremely unfortunate if you’re a victim of this. That poor woman certainly didn’t deserve that treatment, being disabled. It would’ve lessened the damage HAD he stuck around for the other person at least if he was unmovable in his views, but it sure felt like his mouth ran far ahead of the brain in this instance.

[quote]She said she has volunteered for the Sanders campaign,
and supports the Democratic presidential contender because he’s “not in
it for the money, that is probably my favorite thing,” she said.

I’ve heard the same thing said from those supporting the other guy. Odd how “not in it for the money” goes both ways.

The car wouldn’t start, but a first responder was able to move it and the AC was able to run?

Don’t those placards say not to drive with them hanging from the rear-view?

Reminds me why I’m not a fan of bumper stickers. It might have been better for this guy to have towed her and tried to engage her in politics conversationally, instead of taking the “tough love” approach.

Put it neutral to move it.

As far as the AC, maybe the engine was damaged enough to not start, but enough wasn’t damaged to allow everything else to work. Though last I checked, there is that belt that helps with the AC last I checked… so, I’m just as confused.
