Brain Drain

An update on the PC Upgrade train. Shamiko is working nicely, much faster on most tasks.

However, Matoi began to display the real issue that was causing her to be too slow. The 1TB Seagate HDD was failing, a repair by Windows did not last more than a day. So, I bought a 500 GB NVME PCIE drive, installed it and migrated the 1TB over to it ( Shrinking the main partition in the process, only had 90 GB on it so not a problem. ) overnight on Friday night.

Now Matoi is running very nearly as fast as Shamiko on most tasks. Looks like I will hve my choice of two good machines.

Ah yes, the two easy updates that can speed up an old computer, more memory (or in some cases, just faster, but that’s task/CPU-dependent), and HDD (even more so with switch to SSD, and in some cases, just replacing old SSDs as well)

I’m planning to start my own new twist on the old holiday traditions

We used to do the “Hot Dr. Pepper” drinks at Christmas, melted a few Red Hots cinnamon candies in it as well. Was never the same after they went to Corn Sweeteners.

Get the ones bottled in Texas. It’s the real deal.

The Hot Dr Pepper was also very good with Oranges sliced and floated in it.

Then there was sasafrass tea. That’s one that’s hard to near impossible to get anymore.

Is there a Food Lion down that way. They tend to stock most of the Real Sugar glass bottled sodas. Only place I can find the real sugar Dr P and Pepsi bottles now a days.

The closest Food Lion I remember seeing was in South Carolina

Our grocery store, HEB, has real sugar drinks. Pretty sure the stores are just in Texas & New Mexico.

And they have the Whataburger ketchup too

I don’t think the Dutch Parent company likes warm weather.

Got most of my standing bunnies on the shelves. I think all that is left standing Bunny wise is the Girls Frontline M1918 one. Tessa is out to but the case she is in is a pain to deal with taking photos of. Urd being taller then I thought messed up my original plan. Taiga being smaller helped fix things. 36 more 1/4 scale Bunnies and non Bunnies in various poses to figure out now. :poop:

On a side note: Getting standing bunnies on the stands is very much disliked by me.

On another side note: Ikea Billy’s and Anime figures not the best match.

On yet another side note: Wish they’d just only use solid stands. The clear not the best looking.

Love the Bunny Girls.

Clear stands can be helped by judicious use of colored construction paper trimmed to fit under them. Gives them contrast.

Yep, those white shelves aren’t the best thing for displaying figures.

These were originally for my Media so when they were cheap I bought a few but after doing some measurements realized I’d come up short and building shelves along the walls would be the best solution. After doing some thought I’m going to be moving these in to the closet I don’t use because all my stuff fits in the dresser part of my Media chest. Going back to built shelves on the two walls the corner setup takes way to much up of.

Anyway Bunny Snek!
