She is my favorite for that and because she is a very nice person. Also no matter how hard her life is, she keeps doing her best.
Ever heard the term that someones elevator does not go to the top floor? In Liang Q case they never installed the elevator.
I watched Ep. 11 over the week-end and all I can say is : kudos to Jessica Boone for her performance as Liang Qi. Seriously, she ranks at the top of my âpsycho nutjobâ list of characters.
Please bring on more shows like Canaan Sentai !
Some editors at ANN selected Jessica Booneâs performance in Canaan as the âBest Dub Performance - Femaleâ for 2010.
Iâm just watching the first half on bluray, but this really makes me look forward to the second.
Whaaaat!!! You havenât seen it yet⌠
Shame on you⌠
Well thereâs this little show called Michiko & Hatchin that is right up that alley, unfortunatly it isnât R1 licensed yet, if ever.
Go, Sentai, Go!!!
I canât believe this one wasnât on my âMUST WATCHâ list. I decided to check it out after Newshawk cast me as Yun Yun. (I love her and her flat chest, by the way Newshawk, so thank you) I watched the first 8 episodes today. I probably would have finished it in one sitting if my computer hadnât been acting so hinky lately.
I havenât commented on this yet? HOW DARE I?? I watched this show in like 3 days, it was so good!! Really it blew me away. Itâs such a great, high octane, and intense series, with amazing characters. Really I liked each and every one of them. Not to mention the dub was my favorite dub that came out last year, perfect. Liang Qi is my favorite character, and ohhhhh Jessica Boone was insanely (I ran out of adjectives) good !! I agree with Theron Martin, she was the best dub voice actress of last year, hands down.
Just remember, under that flat chest beats a HUGE heart!
Iâm all for Michiko & Hatchin getting a dubbed release, but that ending was pretty weak. It was pretty darn good until the end, kinda like Canaan, but Canaan had a great dub to make up for it. Andy McAvin was given an, ahem, interesting role and he did it amazingly.
BTW does anyone else think that âLesley Pedersenâ (Alphard) sounds eerily reminiscent of Alice Fulks?
i watched caanan on netflix and then the next wednesday it came on anime network lol it made me sad
Whatâs sad about that? I live via my phone so being on Netflix is a plus IMO.
Though I saw this on bluray. Sadly the main cast doesnât really do cons so I canât get it signed. As awesome as Hilary Haag and Shelly Black are, they have a weakness. This is it lol.
Though Alphard totally sounded like Alice Fulks to me. Was it just me?
Hmm Iâm just not hearing a voice that sounds like Alice Fulks in this. Itâs totally Lesley Pedersen/Tesh as Alphard through and through. I personally loved the Shelley Calene Black/ Hilary Haag combo. But it was Jessica Boone who plays Liang Qi in this, that was the absolute star of this show.
If Lesley Tesh == Lesley Pedersen then I could see this. The ANN forums had flagged Lesley Pedersen as an alias
I agree that Jessica Boone was excellent in this. Liang Qi was not.
EDIT: I find it strange that both Lesley Pedersen and Lesley Tesh were credited as different roles in CANAAN. Why would one person have 2 different names in the same show?
Lesley Tesh got married and now sheâs known as Lesley Pedersen .
âŚand only did one VA role after that.
Though it is still odd to see one person credited with 2 different names, for different roles, in the same show. Things didnât get that convoluted with Christine Auten or Shelly Calene-Black.
IMDB shows a name change, but when it comes to anime, IMDB is not the place to look.
I am 100% theyâre the same person. Not sure the confusion as to what to list her in the credits, but probably just due to different people working on the same show. Iâm pretty sure she got married and thatâs why her name changed . I was familiar with her work before she got married. Iâm sure weâll hear more from her eventually, when she gets cast in some more roles. I liked her in Red Garden the most, but she was amazing in Le Chevalier DâEon too. She was also pretty good in Pani Poni Dash.
Lesley Tesh was Uno and Gilgamesh and Lorenzia (SP) in Le Chevalier DâEon. On an interesting tangent, Stephen Foster says in the commentary for that show that when Teshâs character had to make sensual moaning noises the sound techs looped it lol.
Back on track, I can âseeâ the resemblance between those 2 roles of Tesh with which I am familiar and Alphard. Part of the problem stems from watching Gilgamesh right before Canaan. Alphardâs conversation with the protagonist at the assassination attempt sounds eerily reminiscent of the Countess von Werdenberg though.
Though neither actress seems to do work for Sentai these days, which reminds me that Sentai doesnât seem to have actresses with similar vocal capabilities these days. Funimation has all bases covered on the deeper/raspier/more âmatureâ female voicing âfieldâ though.
I was looking for this show on eBay. Good thing the new release just dropped.
