'DirecTV DVR with TiVo Service' does handle VOD

I now have a ‘DirecTV DVR with TiVo Service’ (model THR22) sitting next to a DirecTV Plus HD DVR (model HR22).

The hardware looks to be identical, just the software is different.

The THR22, however, cannot access the Anime Network on Channel 1889. It does pay-per-view satellite downloads, but not free video-on-demand broadband downloads.

Update: It’s working now.

Ten days after reporting the problem, my THR22 can now get to the free Video-On-Demand selections, such as the Anime Network on Channel 1889.

Hurray!
