Witch Hunter Robin is still only on DVD? Besides saving space, is it an upgrade from the Bandai singles that I picked up?

Kinda wishing Funi would join the rest of the industry in doing SD/ED blurays…DVD’s day is done, time to retire it.

Yamada and the 7 Witches was just released in January 2018 on bluray, but now it is getting a re-release 9 months later?

I’m glad I didn’t yet pick it up as this new Essentials version is on preorder for less than half the cost of the original. It’s almost too bad, as it was a fun show and a contender for Funimation’s Dub of the Year IMO.

Tales of the Abyss is still sub-only? Sad.

Angel Links? Why wasn’t it bundled with Outlaw Star, and why isn’t it on blu-ray? Is this a case of Funi going low effort on a release because they don’t want to release it but contractually they must?

Black Clover? Maybe, most enjoyable shounen I’ve seen in ages, but the Funi dub is so mehdiocre. So far I’ve found myself unintentionally boycotting Funi shows that I liked subbed but received sub-par dubs, so I dunno about this pickup.

I’m tempted by Garo VANISHING LINE as it was one of the few recent Funi titles (and their first GARO) where IMO the dub > sub, but I’ve been burned by Funi’s “Part 1” releases on titles like this before

Imouto is all you Need was something that I was entertained by far more than expected so I might pick that one up. From what I sampled, the Broadcast Dub on that one seemed better than average too.

Given the awful reputation this show’s dub has, is Funi not doing a redub?

…You know, i think I sampled the dub of this when I watched it a few years back, but it doesn’t sound bad to me in the trailer.

Even if it is just to have fewer discs with no quality loss, I’d prefer to get this on bluray. I’m still gun-shy about Funi rereleases of old shows on DVD as they bungled the video with Initial D & Vandread.

As far as I remember Robin has never even got a Blu-ray release in Japan . I’m thinking that might be the issue right there as to why not even a SDBD . I think it’s been since 2003 since it was last released on DVD Japan and if I remember right it went over better here then in did there .

The way they’re movies are doing, you really think they’d spend even more on anime. Anime is just a drop on the bucket, a side order for their streaming service/PS4…not a main dish.
