Recently got my Wii back up and running (finally :P). Have been playing a lot of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword since all of my save data is on the other Wii, and Sonic Colors. Gotta go fast. B)
I also just finished the main story on Phantom Brave: We Meet Again after a couple of days. Needless to say, I got super into it by the end. Cheering at each victory, throwing my arms up to mimic the attacks on-screen, giving my characters compliments on their strength, and finally crying at the end. The whole nine yards.
It was a very enjoyable experience, and I look forward to playing some of the side material soon. :3
I’m totally glad to hear that you enjoyed Phantom Brave, tykes! There’s nothing more I enjoy than spreading NIS love for all to enjoy, dood. It’s my first NIS title, and is also my most favorite. Here’s hoping you tackle the post game stuff sometime.
You’re not alone with the attack animations. XD What was your favorite? Mine has to be Sword Dance, simple, yet elegant/classy, tykes.
It’s been quite the while, but games I’ve been playing since my last visit:
Bravely Default: I LOVE THIS GAME, TYKES. There’s really no wrong way to play, and you can do so much customization with your fighting style. I’ve maxed out all of my characters Job Levels- and levels overall- so I’ve been experimenting with my favorite matchup. My favorite classes so far would have to be Swordsmaster and… Monk, I guess (Spiritmaster has the best costume design, imo)?
As for the ‘contoversial’ part of the game, I really have no problem with. If anything, it gives you more info on your antagonists, and they are really the best part of the game, story-wise. Mephilia and Barbarossa have got to be my favorites- and Karen Strassman does such a chiller job on portraying Mephilia.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl (I received the ‘Day 1’ release, with the outtakes soundtrack and developer’s notes) - After EOIV, I knew that I had to pick up a copy of Untold. I love the game’s deep sense of adventure, and putting my job of cartographer to an even more refined level. The added story mode was really good, and made the game feel less lonely, for those who don’t like to use their imagination with their classic teams (not saying that I don’t, tykes, that’s another story). Not to mention that Yuzo Koshiro outdoes himself with another awesome soundtrack. The battle theme almost gives more testosterone than the Grandia II battle theme, and that’s saying a lot.
Mario Kart 7: I originally bought so I could play with a campus friend, but I ended up getting too into it, as usual with Mario Kart. This possibly takes up the most of my time than all of my other handheld games right now, as I’m trying to perfect the rest of the courses ( I have the mirror mode remaining).
Honestly, I’m not too thrilled with the MK7 tracks- there just weren’t any that stuck out to me. However, I’m a bigger fan with a lot of the retro tracks- Waluigi Pinball, NES Mario Circuit, and Maple Treeway, my top favorite from Mario Kart Wii.
Disgaea D2 (I got the ‘Day 1’ release, which contains a FULL soundtrack [OMG yes] and a poor excuse for a poster…): Being the NIS fanboy that I am, I finally gave in to temptation and snatched this up the moment I saw it a month ago. One who enjoys the original Disgaea story (but to a degree that I still love the other stories equally… lower than 2 and 4), it kinda felt right that the game got a sequel. I enjoy the fact that the gameplay went back to its roots with geo symbols and weapon mastery, as opposed to geo blocks and weapon forte (I HATE spending mana points for skill upgrades <_<’’). They brought the Lantern back (My favorite monster character- tied with the Marionette)… and he kicks so much tykes, dood. The new Female Heavy Knight looks totally awesome, and is the reason that I actually decided to use a Heavy Knight this time around- I hope she returns for the next game.
The story is pretty good. It really doesn’t kick in until later on in the game, and it may not hold a candle towards D1, but it gives so many feels, and even more respect for Etna. The attacks have gotten better, and very fast-paced, and I finished the post game rather quickly this time around. I guess I’m just making better tactics now, which makes me feel great. :]
So much more to say about it, really… but I’ve typed enough, except that Femharl is the greatest thing to ever happen, along with DLC Gig’s ‘Later, Bitches!’
So, as usual, I’m looking for some people to enjoy some multiplayer action with, tykes!
Mario Kart 7- I main with Rosalina, and then Koopa Troopa and Donkey Kong.
Pokemon Y- Which I’ve not played in a long while, but I raised a decent group of pokemon while on campus, so I could keep one excited for a short time, I suppose, tykes.
I would also love to exchange codes with anyone who have played Bravely Default. I could use some more help in saving the world for a second time, tykes.
