All I have to say is:
“Can’t wait for the second collection.”

See that’s why I don’t follow it. Then everything is just a pleasant surprise to me!
But perhaps there is a reason why the schedule isn’t up yet… Hmmmm…
But is the VOD version the dub or the sub? I haven’t looked. Guessing the dub?
English dub. With many of the same voices as used on the dub for Clannad.
this show seems pretty sweet… its an alright dub too…
in my old age im finding that i like the Japanese audio more and more…
but this one is nice.
yoka
Just watched the 1st episode and liked it.
HA HA!!!
You’re getting old.
I too like my anime in Japanese, except when it takes place anywhere but in Japan.
Gunsmith Cats - Chicago
Golgo 13 - The world
Cowboy Bebop - Outer Space
etc, etc,…
So, is anybody else digging the retro 90’s OVA style music? It seems to fit the animation style quite well.
I’m not sure if I’m a fan of all the digital grain the animators added. It makes it look grittier, but I think it also makes it look a bit dated.
This is another series I’ve been wanting to check out. It looks like a hit, and has a dub, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed. If I like the first couple episodes, I may just buy it. It starts on the online player next week.

Just saw the first episode on friday. Adult Swim would edit it to hell, from what I saw, which wouldn’t do it any justice. Best leave the good stuff to the real anime people.
I wouldn’t mind. We have the DVDs.
Just watched Disk 1. The dub is excellent and I enjoyed every single episode. A lot of people on AoD said watching Duke kill people episode after episode gets boring. To me it doesn’t because every situation is different enough for you to gain some enjoyment out of it. I love the music and that sometimes it doesn’t play at all. The video is a nice touch and the grain isn’t all that bad. Going to watch Disk 2 tomorrow but I’m sure to like it.
My favorite episodes seem to be the cop episodes(2,6). The cops know he did but can’t prove it
I watched ep. 1 the other night and have to say this looks like it will be pretty good.
have to wonder if a shot that accurate at that distance is really possible. I would imagine the initial gun, before he has it modified, is real or based on something real and the range it has is possible, but two kilometers? … actually that’s the only funny thing in the episode, they forgot to translate metric over to American measurements -

I just watched ep. 1 about half an hour ago and while I did enjoy the show I found some (make that one) glaring inconsistency that is just bugging the living daylights out of me.
It has to do with the sniper rifle-what the gunsmith said it was just doesn’t exist! Hammerli only made one rifle in .308 Winchester and it was a target rifle with about a 300-400 m. range. It had a 27 1/2" barrel. If Golgo 13 had the barrel extended 32 INCHES it would have been almost as long as he is tall, when the barrel was bedded into the stock. Also, more than doubling the length of the barrel would have decreased the velocity so much the projectile would lose its punch. I found myself yelling at the TV, “Get a Barrett!” The Barrett is a purpose designed sniper rifle chambered for the .50 caliber Browning Machine Gun (BMG) round. It has the potential for a 2,000 m. sniper kill.

BTW, rebecca1/2, the record for longest range kill was set last year in Afghanistan, but a British Army sniper. He took out two stationary Taliban machine gunners from a range of 2,475 m. The top four long range kills are all over 2,000 m.-while three of the four came during the war in Afghanistan, the earliest one was recorded in Vietnam in 1967 by a U.S. Marine sniper that used a modified .50 cal. machine gun (thus inspiring the present day .50 BMG sniper rifles.) Oh, and for the use of the metric system? It’s common to use that when speaking of sniper kills.
I wonder how well this is doing for Section 23. It’s been a top seller on Right Stuf.
This one is actually getting on shelves at Best Buy too, which can be a good thing. Or a very bad thing, if it doesn’t sell well. But I think it will do okay for them.
Post office is making me not have this by taking the day off. Hopefully it comes tomorrow cause I really want to watch.
I had an idea there was some accuracy to the range he can shoot from simply because in a couple of the Ashes series books by William W. Johnstone (which were great until he died and someone else ghostwrote about half of the next to last and the entire last one) they have snipers shooting from great distance - but described in feet, not meters. FWIW, 2475 meters is a tad over a mile and a half, maybe 1 and 6/10ths or so.
Any thoughts folks?
I had the chance to watch the 1st episode earlier. It definitely has potential. I assume he has a wide range of talents in his field.
The whole 4 hours to get a gun remade, get laid and catch a plane to the airport may have been too much, but I aspire to be more like him…
I like the old school feel, and will continue to watch this every week.
