I had a online account for a while, but dropped it cause Crunchyroll was free.
Today I popped in a DVD and saw the Anime Network commercial with that annoying crying baby and checked to see if it was still online.
Looks like it is, even though you don’t show anime shows anymore
Forgot my old name and can’t really remember anyone from here. The only thing I do really remember is one of the moderators had an obsession with Roy Mustang. Is he still here?
As it’s been a while since you’ve been here, please take a quick reread of The Forum Rules
As you noticed, yes, The Anime Network no longer handles streaming programs. There however is a new website that handles streaming of Sentai Filmworks acquired shows: HiDive. It currently is $4.99 per month, and there’s a 14 day free trial.
The AN forums are still active, and it is very quaint round these parts.
I’m the newest mod on the forums, and personally I’m Yami (Golden Darkness) from To Love Ru obsessed, but the Roy obsessed mod is still here. That’s @Slowhand, and she’s the leader of the mod team now!
By the way, what types of anime do you like? Cute Girls? Action? Sports?
Feel free to post anytime! We’d love you to hang around!
Anime Network was discontinued. HIDIVE is a separate entity under the umbrella of Aesir Media (owner of Sentai, Maiden Japan, etc.) Mostly the same thing, except HIDIVE also carries a few shows not licensed by Sentai, such as Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magical Side Story, Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld and soon… Darwin’s Game.
It is the same HiDive, however you can’t sync between the VRV and regular HiDive accounts. Ergo, it’s either one account or the other. Everything listed on HiDive itself is playable on the HiDive channel of VRV however.
Well that’s a shame. Don’t want to pay for it twice. And since I already have the VERY account what’s the purpose of getting a hidive account if it has the same shows?
While I’m here anyone have some good recommendations of gruesome shows? Like on the level of the ones I posted?
Horror isn’t my thing where anime is concerned. Another has it’s moments if you haven’t seen that one. Elfen Lied is the only other one that comes to the top of my head on the more gory / gruesome side.
Off the top of my head, I can only think of Gantz, Highschool of the Dead, and perhaps Shigurui: Death Frenzy. Akira, or Wicked City may be to your taste as well.
Oh - Corpse Party: Tortured Souls and Parasyte - the Maxim - were pretty violent.
