Aniplex of America announced at its industry panel at Sakura-Con on Friday that it plans to dub Magi - The Kingdom of Magic, the second anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtakaâs Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic manga series. Aniplex and dubbing studio Bang Zoom! Entertainment will hold open auditions for the dub at the Bang Zoom! booth at Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California from July 3-6. Participants will be able to reserve audition times in advance
The companies also held open auditions last year for the first season of Magi. The audition drew 400 participants, three of whom were awarded parts in the animeâs dub.
The second season premiered in Japan last October. Aniplex of America streamed the series on Daisuki, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Aniplex Channel.
Itâs cool that they do this. What isnât cool is the resulting dub, and the bad habits that they ingrain in the actors, but if Mignogna/Haberkorn/Leigh/Spencer canât get bang zoom onto the âstraight and narrowâ then thereâs no way that fresh-faced dubbers taken âoff the streetâ can. I can hope though.

Aniplex of America announced last week that it will premiere the English dub of Magi - The Kingdom of Magic, the second anime adaptation of Shinobu Ohtakaâs Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic manga series, at Katsucon 2015.
The dub will premiere at 7 p.m. EST on Saturday, February 14 at the National Harbor, Maryland convention. Aniplex of America will also announce some of the English cast during its industry panel at 2:45 p.m. EST.
The company held open auditions with dubbing studio Bang Zoom! Entertainment for season two last year. Aniplex of America is currently hosting a contest for fans to guess which actors will voice the two new characters, Titus Alexius and Scheherazade.
Aniplex of America released a dubbed version of the first season on home video in January 2014. The second season premiered in Japan in October 2013 and Aniplex of America streamed the series on Daisuki, Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Aniplex Channel.
