Maid Sama! / Kaicho wa Maid-sama!

My copy arrived today, bundled in one of those bubble mailers alongside Total Eclipse. I was expecting this BD case to be thicker than it is, meaning that I have room for one more bluray on my main bluray shelving.

Of course, I have 3 blurays + Chunibyo CE incoming so I’m still in trouble but I’m in slightly less trouble than anticipated

Now to find time to watch the dub…

About Maid Sama
Misaki Ayuzawa has enough problems being the first female student council president of the formerly all-male Seika High School. When cool, aloof and oh-so-handsome Usui Takumi discovers that she’s also a waitress at a local maid cafe by night, things get very interesting, very quickly! Toss in an organized crime cartel, a handful of extremely annoying transfer students, and the inevitable trip to the hot springs and everyone is bound to end up in hot water one way or another. But Misaki isn’t going to let any of that stop her from maintaining order in the classroom and taking orders in the tea room.

I always find it odd that RightStuf folks can get their DVDs/BDs long before these dub voice cast lists come out.

Same here. Might as well set the street date for everything a month early as that’s how it seems to happen. Maybe they’re doing it to drum up some hype to get more preorders in the final days before it becomes, well, an order?

I find it interesting that Sentai stuff ships out so early but Funi stuff, in my experience, generally does not. Currently my pending orders are being held up by a Funi release that has a street date of next week. Were it a Sentai release, I would have had that release on my shelf for at least 2 weeks now lol.

I’ve made some progress on this and I’m liking the dub.

The bluray also heightens the effect of detailed characters atop a watercolor-looking “impressionist”, Sailor Moon style backdrop, as well as the character transitions from deliberately “blurred” to sharp.

As I saw most of this in Japanese initially, I’m finding myself falling into the trap of cast comparisons and differing expectations, much to my chagrin. While the dub is very solid, I do wonder if Rial would have been the better choice for Dog and Scissors and Calvello better for this.

Episodes 1-26 (Dub) are live at ANO

Sentai on Netflix?

Not the only series either :thinking::thinking:

(Haikyu S1 and 2, Chunibyo, and Clannad were also uploaded to Netflix the other day)

And then there’s also the dubs they did for 7 Seeds, CGI and OG (2019 dub) Saint Seiya.
