Naruto / Naruto Shippūden / Boruto

Once again, there’s no listing for Naruto: Shippuden for Saturday night. I hope this isn’t going to become another one of those hide and seek series.[/quote]

I’m so curious as to hear this explanation. This is pissing me off.

It is on next Saturday night, BUT it’s not marked as NEW on my TV description.

So, all of you using DVR/TiVo might want to check, you might have to set this manually.

That’s not a good sign. There’s no holiday to speak of coming up.

A mod at Disney XD posted in the blog that Naruto Shippuden would be on Wednesday at 11PM but he also said that times and dates differ depending on where you live. Toonzone does list it for Saturday 11PM with the episode “Target: Locked On” so now I’m gonna have to find out for sure just in case so I can readjust my auto-tunes.

It IS on Saturday at 11pm ET/10pm CT on DXD, HOWEVER, my TV online guide does NOT show it as NEW, so my DVR isn’t picking it up, so I’ll have to set it manually.

At least this is cleared up.

Can’t wait for the movie.

I have never trusted that feature as I have seen new shows listed as repeats and repeats as new way to often.

I have a question.

I did not watch all of the original Naruto, so if this was addressed there, I obviously missed it.

I thought that ninjas were supposed to be stealthy and blend into their surroundings. Since the ninjas on Naruto Shippuden live in the outdoors, and, for the purpose of this question, in the Leaf Village, they live around trees and grasses.

Most of the supporting characters (and some major characters) wear the regular uniform of dark green, like Kakashi or Shikamaru.

But, others wear colors that are blazingly loud and could be seen in a forest setting, like Sakura (pink), Chouji (red), Ino (purple) and even Naruto himself (orange).

What’s the deal with this?

Really. No one?

Cause then it’d be a good show. :stuck_out_tongue:

From a technical reason most likely the same for anime characters having crazy hair, to make it easy to tell characters apart.

In story reason they use techniques to hide so does not matter what color their clothes are as they can still hide. Heck Kakashi could be standing in the corner of the room your in now, wearing a pink tutu and could keep you from seeing him.

Historically the ninja would most likely be the guy working in the garden that everyone is not even paying attention too.

I was checking my DVR for tonight and noticed that Naruto Shippuden wasn’t listed.

It seems that there’s an episode of The Suite Life scheduled instead.

Tried to check the Toon Zone schedule, but they don’t have a DXD listing. How frustrating!

Anyone have anything on their ends?

I noticed it changed yesterday between 2pm and by the time I went to bed at Midnight.

It looks like the next new episode is on the 20th.

MY DVR shows it moved back one week.

Ok, thanks.

And thanks for the explanation about the loud clothes also. I guess that makes sense in an odd way, but still seems weird to me.

The easiest place to hide is in plain sight. Naruto first 220 episodes, DID show a bit about this, as they use things to hide themselves in their surroundings other than just jutsu. Naruto had a “blanket” that looked like boards in a wall, and was using it in front of himself to follow someone, while standing against the wall. However he held it with the boards going horizontal when they were vertical on the wall itself IIRC.

Also the concept form MGS of just hiding under a cardboard box.

Substitution jutsu would mean it doesn’t matter that much if you get caught off guard or seen, you just replace yourself with a log or something and disappear to somewhere else.

Seems in the world of Naruto too, that ninja aren’t even noticed to be ninja for the most part as Naruto often has to tell people he IS a ninja, while pointing to his head-protector with the hidden leaf insignia on it. Which goes back to if ninjas aren’t noticed because they are wearing just as silly looking clothes as everyone else…they are pretty much hiding in plain sight.

Verisimilitude clashing with interest in the target audience means you have to choose the audience, or the characters. Naruto has gone much farther than many other ninja-themed manga/programs, so he must have done something right with deciding to follow the ideas and patterns of DBZ…right done to the outfits…

Naruto/Goku = orange
Sasuke/Vegeta = blue
Hinata/Ino/Chichi = purple
Kakashi/et all/Piccolo = green

etc…

Was it just me or was this not on last night?

Was not just you, looked like they ran another marathon last night.

I didn’t see it either. More ridiculous runs of Phineas and Ferb. Why was that even on?
I hope they reverse because this weekend lists the next episode "The Labyrinth of Distorted Reflection"
I swear Disney XD is making me lose it…or maybe it’s Dish’s fault. Who knows.
