Plot Summary: Ten years after the Bubble War, the dichotomy between the rich and the poor in the world becomes more prominent and Japan is no exception. The rich seeks to satisfy their desires and derive pleasure for themselves, and Tokyo has materialized into such a city as a result. Saiga, once a war photographer, works for Hibara Ginza in the capitalist state of Tokyo. He infiltrates into Roppongi Club, a secretive base located in the red district area of the city, to collect information about them. However, he was caught in the process and brought forward to a girl called Kagura who was in the midst of a ritual. His contact with Kagura awakens his special ability: the power to make things explode once photographed. In order to unravel the mystery behind the Roppongi Club and Kagura, Saiga begins his solitary battle.

I glad there showing this again, I forgot how it most of the ending. now i watch it again.

I tried watching a bit of this some time ago, but I could never get into it. I might give it another go, but it’s pretty far down my priority list and my DVR is already recording a lot with so many shows starting up again recently, not to mention all the shows here…lol

This is one of my favorite action titles, along with Black Lagoon and Cyber City. This is truly a fun show to watch. Dark, disturbing, sexual, violent, action packed, yet with interestign characters and themes. Gonzo can’t get enough of the rich v poor themes, but hey neither can I! It’s a strong theme, that hits deep. Plus this entire series just builds on it’s self each episode, with a top notch ending. Sadly it’s not as fun the second (or third) time around, but damn do I love Ginza (“SELF DEFENSE!!”)

once Speed grapher ends on ifc.com it says hell girl will start playing august 23.
ive never watched it before, but ive heard good stuff.

I’m loving it… I’m up to episode 8, having watched like 4 or 5 episodes today. It’s even cooler as I’ve met a couple of the VAs for the English dub. Clarine Harp (Ginza), Jeremy Inman (Kaori) and Chris Cason (Misake in eps 5-6) did a panel on DVR post production at Tokyo In Tulsa last June.

Less than two weeks after my last post and I just finished up Speed Grapher. It was a great series, if bittersweet-but that’s just like life can be.

I agree that this was a wonderful series. I really enjoyed the ending on this one too. I think it’s one of the few perfect endings to a story like this.

Yes, you’re so right. I especially liked Ginza playing the part of Nurse Ratchett!

A unique show which i thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish.
I loved the ending song for the first half of the series, but then they changed it. :(.

I thought Break the Cocoon was the best song other than the original JP opening of the series.

Yes, it is.

Also, the episodes being shown thus far on The Online Player can be viewed without having watched season 1 first.
