The Penguins are about to go up 2-0 as they are going on a rampage in the third period scoring three goals to break the 1-1 tie coming out of the second intermission. The Penguins are is great position to repeat as champions.

Thanks Slow, I fell asleep on the couch waiting for the game to come on. Looks like it might be a quick finish this year, although both teams are really good.

Game 3 is on folks, but they aren’t showing it down here in MS :frowning: I know Pittsburgh was up by one just a while ago

The Predators are back in the series as they responded in a big way having returned home to Nashville. The Penguins went up 1-0 in the first, and then in the second the Predators went on a scoring frenzy with three goals and then took control of the game to cut the Pens lead to 2-1.

Nashville has played excellent hockey in front of the home folks during the playoffs and tonight’s game was no exception. While all of the Preds were great tonight, the third line was outstanding as they set the tone for the Preds’ offense. Game 4 is Monday night.

So far, the home team has won all the games in the Finals as the Predators tie up the series behind another strong performance on home ice by Pekka Rinne. They broke through in the second quarter and now the Predators need to find a way to win one in Pittsburgh if they are going to take home Lord Stanley’s holy grail.

Less than twenty minutes folks, don those jerseys!

Don, I totally typed don!!!

And at the end of the second period, it is 6-0 Penguins. Wow, at the refs in this game. Pretty sure that one guy was getting the ice skates to the face, and the Penguins are using the water cannon? :stuck_out_tongue:

And the home team continues to dominate as the Penguins routed the Preds in Pittsburgh, 6-0. They scored early and often as Pekka Rinne was pulled after giving up three goals in the first period to put them on the brink of repeating as champions.

I expect Nashville to win on Sunday, but Rinne needs to figure out how to play more efficiently on Pittsburgh’s ice or else Sidney Crosby will be lifting the Cup for the 3rd time in his career.

Rinne was pulled after three goals? I guess Nashville was sputtering on the ice so much at that point I couldn’t tell :stuck_out_tongue: Last night’s game was definitely one for the records

Game six, tonight at 8:00 est! Can Nashville pull through for another shot at the Cup???

The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated Nashville 2-0 in Game 6 to clinch their second-straight Stanley Cup and the franchise’s 5th Cup. The Pens are the first repeat champions since the Red Wings in 1997 and 1998. Patrick Hornqvist scored the Cup-clinching goal with 95 seconds left in the game as he bounced a shot off Pekka Rinne’s elbow in the back of the net. Carl Hagelin added an empty-netter to seal the win. A great run by the Predators but they fall two wins shy of claiming the franchise’s first cup. Matt Murray made 27 saves in the win.
.
The Conn Smythe trophy winner for playoff MVP was Sidney Crosby for the second year in a row.

Thanks Slow, yep Nashville just couldn’t pull through for a win in Pittsburgh. Shut-out the last two games of the season, that should lead to some hard training for next year.

Alright, alright! It’s that time again, Stanley Cup finals! Best of 7 between Washington Capitols and the brand new Las Vegas Golden Knights, game 1 fixin’ to kick off!

Stanley Cup playoffs, game 5 tonight at 8 ept. This year is the St. Louis Blues versus the Boston Bruins!
