I caught this a few years ago while flipping through the channels. Unfortunately, when it played on WAM, it was extremely late at night, or early in the morning. But that’s what they make DVR’s for. It was different than a lot of the anime series I had at the time, and I really enjoyed it.
I grabbed a couple singles and the art box two years ago, but later I just bought the complete collection with the artbox for about $30 from Right Stuf. Thought it was a pretty good bargin.
Yeah, that full set of singles + artbox for $30 is a steal. I paid almost full MSRP for my set way back when, it almost makes me wish I would have waited this long to get it.
VanDread is at the top of my list of favorite animes right now, but that’s probably due to when I first saw it (2006). One of the few shows that made me both laugh and cry at times. Loved it.
Oddly enough, though, I originally picked it up at random without really knowing what kind of series it was going to be…

When Encore WAM used to show anime weekdays at 4 PM, I watched Vandread in reruns (both seasons) several times. It’s hilarious and charming with a great story.
I need to search this one up for my collection.
LOL I think this is the first showing I’ve committed to The only other time I can think of was an Air Gear showing but I forgot to bring my DVDs to school with me.
Man, I love Vandread, and I do have the DVDs, hmm…
As for a third season, I would take an OVA of Extra Stage, that would earn Gonzo some money, and Funi could license it and we could then beg and plead weith them to bring back the old cast. I am getting way too ahead of myself.
