What's Bugging You?

I’ve been to 12 years worth of MegaCons in the 13 years we’ve lived here in Kissimmee, including that one-off where they had a spring & fall convention.

This past Saturday was busy, but not as heavy as it has been at times in the past. Took us longer to park than normal, they added a right turn lane in a strategic spot that actually made it harder to get a right turn in a couple of hundred feet later.

The con’s food court was better organized than in the past, I think this is due to being in the newer of the two convention center buildings this year. The old building just doesn’t seem to handle food service as well.

Also noted that the newer building has better cooling and ventilation than the older one.

@mgosdin

And did you happen to stop in at McDonald’s?

No, we were exhausted and the traffic was bad enough to nip that idea in the bud.

Time for another MaouSadao venting session!!!

So in the past 3 days, I’ve worked 41 hours without breaks…

A little side story, I don’t get breaks anymore because I’m a DM now, and DM’s have to eat something quickly while clocked in, but regular managers do get breaks.

For anyone not in the know, this weekend was “The Classic”.

This Friday I was scheduled 5pm-2am with two other managers working the entire weekend from 8-4 and 10-6 respectively. (From now on, 8-4 is J and 10-6 is E.) We were getting slammed all evening, and slowed down a little about 12:30. J came to me and asked for a break cause he was really hungry. I said ok, and he clocked out. 2am rolls around, and he still hasn’t returned. Concerned, I tried to call him, and it went straight to voicemail. I sent him a text, and no reply. I couldn’t just leave E by herself, so I stayed until 5:30ish helping her run the store. I documented J and informed my GM about the situation. She says she’ll take care of it.

Saturday I’m scheduled 5p-2a again, and 8pm Saturday evening rolls around J doesn’t come in. I call him and no answer. It ends up being even busier than Friday, so I stay to help E until 6:30am.

Now I’m dead now, and as a bonus, I’m scheduled to come back in at NOON. Thankfully the opening manager says to come in when she leaves at 3. (Those 3 hours were a godsend BTW.) I go in at 3, and low and behold J doesn’t come in again. So keeping on working, 10:30pm rolls around. E isn’t there. I call her, no answer. Calling my GM, it turns out E had texted her that she wasn’t feeling well and wouldn’t be coming in right after she left the previous “night”, and my GM totally forgot to try to contact another store to see if we could get a replacement.

The opening manager came in at 6, and I got to finally come home and relax.

This weekend has been hell, but as a slight comfort, J is terminated. It’s not nice to say that, but if you don’t need the job enough to just walk out, then we don’t need you.

/Rant.

(I feel a lot better getting this off my chest…)

This is very true. A job is a serious responsibility. If you disappear with no word because the job gets a little crazy, then you deserve to be fired.

It also doesn’t seem fair that you can’t take a break. Is that even legal?

I am glad you finally got to rest though. And I thought doctors / nurses had it rough!

Yes, it’s not nice to have to say that someone lost their job, but it’s the truth and the truth does not have to be nice to anyone.

Ask McDonald’s that…

I do know it depends on the state. In Florida, breaks are only 100% mandatory for anyone under the age of 18 or people with medical requirements…

It still doesn’t seem right.

Looking up rules for McDonald’s is also confusing. LOL

McDonald’s policy: A 30-minute break may be given when working 3 ½ hours or more.

That word may really bothers me. I guess McDonald’s is just as bad as everyone else. Just go ahead and squeeze the life out of an employee and don’t worry about it.

No. They’re at the store, and the DMs don’t get breaks…

Then I would have a face to face time with them when they R at the store

The only text messages I ever get are groups related to the Community Development Distric and the Owners Association, since I’m on both boards.

They can be incovenient, but usually aren’t annoying.

i should write a letter to all these anime company but for now this is a upsetting Fan based rant about the way they R making My Only Love of Anime terrible and yes trashy @mgosdin . Anime is suppose to be a nice and pleasant experience not a crazy and fill with trash. Anime is an Art form for ppl with class and exceptional taste of the animation skills of artist and good dialogue. now they are making these outrageous stuff that should be on the network adult swim with the adult cartoons.

i mean every anime release they have, i keep wanting for something new with the 90s feel to it but like always i keep getting let down.

so i will stop there
but im still upset at where anime has gone down the extreme pointless hill
