Hey Slow, as you already know my reasoning for the late report, it seems like for this last week we are back in the “no anime rut”. We are missing the entire update. Hopefully this can get fixed quickly. Thank you for the help as always.

Also, I see what happened here. :huh: When I first watched Girls und Panzer I didn’t remember that episode having a dub either. Since I have already seen the series, I didn’t get to double check what was actually received… now I know. The past report has been corrected, and all future reports will be bumped up one episode.

  1. The sections for All and Just Added no longer show up. Those two sections had always been updated the instant new episodes arrived.

  2. Now, the only sections on Channel 1889 are Action Zone, Girl Power, and Super Happy Fun Time. Those sections usually get updated 24 hours later, which means the new episodes are not visible even though they are present.

  3. The new episodes do show up if you search for them on Channel 1000 (On Demand).

Menu -> Search & Browse -> On Demand -> Interests -> Animation

Well, I was going to say no new episodes this week, but it seems the new episodes don’t show on The Anime Network (CH 1889). Which doesn’t make any sense at all. And I don’t like new interface for the channel. And I also the listing of the episodes instead of the cover pics of the anime. I thought I would just throw that out there.

Dittos to what Joe & FK said. It appears that DirecTV is in the process of converting all of its VOD menus to this new format, with no “just added” or “all” option (for instance, BBC America’s channel still displays under the old format, as of this posting but the majority of the channels I browsed were using the new format). Having replaced my receiver in the last couple of weeks, I thought it might’ve been unique to the receiver model, but apparently not. I suppose it’s time to complain to DirecTV, since this clearly seems to be their issue.

I’ll throw this concern out to the TAN people monitoring this thread, since it may be of interest - since there is no longer an “all” or “just added” selection available, that means to me that the only way to access a show through channel 1889 is by its tag: action zone/girl power/SHFT. If a show comes through that doesn’t have one of those tags, it might only be available via channel 1000 or a search. Although I don’t remember ever seeing a TAN show that didn’t have one of those tags, that doesn’t mean that it never happened, or that it couldn’t happen going forward. In fact, it wouldn’t surprise me that the current lack of new shows on 1889 was caused by such a tag-handling issue/bug on a newly-rolled-out (and poorly tested?) menu system, but what do I know…

Update: I’ve posted a set of questions on the DTV support forum (http://forums.directv.com/community/directv_on_demand). I would think that the more of us that post there, the more likely it is that we’ll get noticed. Note - if any of you have a better place to post these questions at DTV, please let me know and I’ll post there too. Thanks.

Update 2: I’m using a new Genie receiver, model HR44-200, if that makes any difference.

  1. The sections for All and Just Added no longer show up. Those two sections had always been updated the instant new episodes arrived.

  2. Now, the only sections on Channel 1889 are Action Zone, Girl Power, and Super Happy Fun Time. Those sections usually get updated 24 hours later, which means the new episodes are not visible even though they are present.

  3. The new episodes do show up if you search for them on Channel 1000 (On Demand).

Thanks for this. I found all the episodes with this. I just have to go to 1000 and go through Interests Animation, though. I would still rather the All and Just Added Sections on 1889, though. I hate using Channel 1000, since it is so slow, though that may just be my receiver, which is considered an “oddball” receiver, since it is an SD model capable of HD and VOD, as well as access to the Ethernet ports that were initially disabled on the particular model.
