Every time Shoyo opens his mouth to The King he says “catch”. Subtitle really screwed up by this, because you are NOT allowed to catch the ball in volleyball. :angry:

I know people talk about how loose and screwy the CR subs are, but for Sentai/TAN that intends to sell this product to screw up the game being shown in it just makes Sentai/TAN look utterly stupid since they are asking for money for something they cannot even figure out how to do right.

If you are going to make a show about volleyball, you better learn the rules before you do something stupid like keep claiming someone should “catch” the ball. Why not say “homerun” or “hole-in-one” in the sub or some other stupid term that doesn’t even fit the sport that is being played?

I will bet that episode 21 of Log Horizon still has mention of “yesterday” in place when it comes to VOD next week rather than referring to a month prior because that wasn’t fixed either. If you expect people to pay the prices being asked for this crap, then you better get the right terms for something even if it doesn’t perfectly match the flaps. Better find an editor for whoever is writing these screwed up subtitles because ADV already split into 5 other companies and got into lawsuits, there isn’t much more places for it to go but out of business with this shotty half-*** work that has been done lately.

This kind of stuff is making the Viz re-dub of Sailor Moon look GOOD for crying out loud! Get your acts together and produce quality for a change! YOU ARE THE FORMER ADV FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, NOT 4KIDS! All my VHS ADV titles are rewinding in their graves because of having to be associated with this poor quality!

So, I don’t know if it’s worth posting here yet again, since I’m still only missing the same shows as last time. But seeing as the episodes would be deleted this Thursday anyway, is there any chance of them being added at this point? And if not, is there any way for me to legally watch From the New World episode 19, dubbed and online instead, aside from a subscription? I can’t just miss an episode like this. :confused:

Also, I’m thinking maybe this is a sign for me to just drop Log Horizon and wait for the dub to finish it, since I had wanted to wait for a dub in the first place, just wasn’t sure it would get one. XD

I’m sorry to tell you, but since you didn’t come back last week and post that you were still missing these episodes, I thought you had received them with your last update (August 21). You haven’t reported in since August 15.

I took your episodes off the report. You need to post every week to let me know if you’re still missing episodes.

You can watch those episodes on the Online Player (subtitled) for free. Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to watch the dubbed version of From the New World for free legally, unless you know someone who has the DVD/Blu-ray.

Oh, alright. :o I was busy last week so I didn’t really check. I also wasn’t sure if me posting every week was actually necessary or just a bother since it was the same story each time. Anyway, guess I’ll take that as they will not be added. I’ll try and find some way to catch back up then, guess I can ask around. Thanks for the help and stuff though. when making a subtitle you MUST observe proper nomenclature for the activity and not general language terms. Considering this sub/dub will be in the USA, then those speaking English AND knowing anything about volleyball, will laugh at the screw-up for for incompetence of the writer of the sub/dub when they propose one of the players purposefully does something ILLEGAL within the game that is being presented.

Look it isn’t that hard, and you can argue all you want, you are NOT allowed to catch the ball in volleyball, and the words need to be changed. simple as that.

So Sentai will look the fool risking not getting any more sports related shows and be left with only its softcore porn if that is what it wants, or it can buck up and change the word to something correct.

Rather than trying to play a semantics game, you should say thanks to the FREE editors and QA people you have that is offering a correction where the PAID editor and WRITER of the sub failed, rather than bandi around nonsense, and jsut make the simple change.

Again this is why I say the VOD is a terrific vessel for finding these mistakes LONG before anything goes to dub or to “print” but you have to be willing to use it and not feign ignorance or omniscience when a correction that needs to be made is noted but one of those people that catches these constant subtitle errors be they grammatical, timing, or general typos.

Like I said I don’t know many sports, except for general about them, in the case something seems off with the Ace of Diamond sub and wordings, but I can’t pinpoint it as I can with the fact you are NOT allowed to catch the ball in volleyball. simple as that. Okay. :o I didn’t know, I figured people usually report in telling you they got them after reporting them as missing. I thought maybe me telling you the same thing every week was frowned upon and seen as a nuisance. >.< I’ve usually been able to get these things resolved within a week or two. :confused: I figured after that it’s a case of “We know your episodes are missing and we’re doing everything we can, you don’t have to keep telling us.”

No, we don’t consider it a nuisance. In fact, sometimes, there are so many people reporting in, I have a hard time keeping up.

You must report in every week, both here AND at your Time Warner provider. As it says in the first post of this thread, we work hard to make sure that you get your content, but we can’t do it alone, we must have the cooperation of both you, inDemand and your provider.

Time Warner seems to be the worst at getting back info so it’s a great help if you do your part and keep on them from your end.

We must keep the info flowing back and forth.

No, you just posted a definition of the word which looks like just another of your normal snide comments as you have done int he past. There was nothing except the definition you posted to indicate your intent for posting it. Not that it was YOUR opinion on why the word was used, nor that it was Sentai’s reason for using the word.

You informed nobody of anything.

Either way, the use would be wrong. When given a technical term and general use word, the use should be of the technical term so as not to confuse the reader/audience.

If you intend to inform someone of why something is used, you may wish to in the future mention that as those reading a forum or a subtitle are NOT mind readers and have no context to go on save for just a dictionary quote. Context is the KEY, because again, you may have a valid definition in the English language but in regards to volleyball, the sport in the anime in question, the term being used is wrong. Research can go a long way. so laugh all you wish, I don’t like you either, so the feeling is mutual.

Have someone at the next panel discussing Hayuki to the audience and let them reply with the answer to WHO is allowed to catch the ball in volleyball, and see what the audience, your current and future Sentai consumers say about the subtitle error and how willing they are to go with YOUR definition versus the one used by the game.

If you have issues to report about the content you’re seeing, then report them: without all the commentary. Insulting people serves absolutely no purpose at all and will get you nothing in return, except a vacation from this site.

Knowing since this that the VOD descriptions cannot be changed if they are wrong, the Log Horizon INFO on the website is now correct, so hopes the actual video product gets the correct description also.

It is about professionalism Slow, I can’t find another post about the episode 18 description where someone else commented on the website to “THANK”, so not sure who fixed or or when it was fixed over the weekend, but quality. It has gone down lately and simple things like a typo on a website is not something that should take 2 weeks to correct. The problem is not a single error or such from a professional company that I put high stakes in a quality product, but that there are so many that are rarely corrected or take so long to correct.

It was 3 years after the new forum and website begun before we got SOber? That is a long time to wait for someone to be able to get some simple fixes, and it worries me. (Knowing SOber has been absent on leave or whatever it is called with TAN/Sentai when someone has a baby she couldn’t jump to fix something during labor…or recouping from it.) But so many red names around here, It makes you wonder what int he world everyone does since “global moderator” can about after individual forums moderators were phased out. Somebody working on a website should know how to run it right? I can work a website, but don’t want to work TANs because all the social media stuff, but someone there has to know how to run it, I hope? RAI coded the old one didn’t he? (is what I was told, whether that info was correct or not I dont know.)

When you see someone failing in your field, you just got to do something to try to fix it. You don’t want your field to look back, and the programmers today just make me cringe. :sick:

Anywho…can’t find the post of who said they would fix the Log Horizon Episode 18 description on the site, but imagine i clicked the THANK YOU button on the post if anyone does ever find or or knows who was looking into it. Now only two other errors left like the video misaligned for the Hulu player, and Madiacom schedule missing (neither of which involved me, but I want to see them fixed so the inheritor of ADV looks like a quality company).

@jp72992, we will never see From the New World 19 as TWC in our area listens to neither TAN for the repitch nor the customer because we aren’t worth their time or effort. TWC is always right, thus added frustration I have when coming here because they even say those exact words as THEY are the ones controlling the VOD and it is always TAN fault or they need to send out a service tech to fix the cable boxes…blahblahblah nonsense. South East regional manager of TWC doesn’t care and never has if Virginia down to Florida and over to Tennessee has the right anything because he still gets paid and hasn’t got the time to do the work to get it right because he still gets paid whether it is right or wrong! :woohoo:

I have reported it each week, I am sure the repitch has been done, but this area is jsut bad to be stuck with TWC in because he took it personal when they tried metered billing. Lots of stuff behind the scenes and you might be able to search old threads for detials or the Computers news or Breaking News threads for the info from all that time ago. We are out of TANs hands for the most part and get what we are lucky to actually get and will never get it later even if Slow, SOber, Mo or anyone else tries to get it to us thanks to TWC. :frowning:

Unfortunately, all of these shows have expired and will not be able to be resent.

However, all shows are available to be watched (subtitled) for free on the http://www.theanimenetwork.com/Watch-Online.

Episodes are available for four weeks on Video On Demand, so it’s important to report all missing shows as soon as possible.
