That makes sense, but I’d expect at any time to get a more or less constant stream of both types- the subs of new series and the dubs of those a little while back. It just struck me when I realized that I was beginning to forget the names of the usual stable of English dubbers that the dub stream seemed to have dried up in my VOD. I was wondering if it was a new policy for VOD.

One other small thing I’ve noticed is that most of the new series are being filed in the “Action” category. This classification has always been a bit arbitrary (was Dusk Maiden really “Super Happy”?), but it seems pretty lopsided now. The distribution of episodes for Girl Power / Super Happy Fun Time / Action is currently 8 / 14 / 63. Action also includes Glasslip, Mental Choices and Love Stage which is a bit of a stretch.
Not really a big deal, but it’s inconvenient to have to scroll through a single large list to find episodes. Just wondering if the people on the other end have gotten bored of trying to classify series and are just shoveling them into one big bin to get it done faster.

The report for the last week & all follow-ups was compiled and sent to Anime Network today.
I doubt it’s a new policy as much as it’s a case of availability. We’re getting a lot of newly licensed shows by Sentai and very few of them have dubs already in place. For those that do (like Broken Blade and Towanoquon did), Anime Network will sometimes show the dub first and the sub later. But I think at any given time, the ratio between subs and dubs have generally leaned in favor of subs, although perhaps not to the current extent in quite awhile.
I think when I first subscribed to Anime Network many years ago, the ratio between dubs and subs were closer, but then there were also fewer shows being presented at the time.
