Anime Network VOD Reports/Updates/Questions Thread (2014)

Missing all updates to TheAnimeNetwork as well as some other VOD Channels (CN is one).

This is not the first time that this has occurred. Having encountered this at other times I have noticed that it usually occurs when I have remained up watching TV, and when the receiver is otherwise on, by accident or by purpose. I do IT work as well as help desk, and suspect that the update for the listings may be missed, and is probably initiated only during the beginning of the show cycles (1st day/eve or 2) and that the update, unlike a software update which requires and requests a shut-down period, makes no such request and simply drops the update. A repeated update (3-4 days) and a visual request to shut-down for listing updates with a listed period for and a description of needed updates would likely be nice.

I have already contacted and informed DirecTV of this possible issue and it may be prudent for you to do so as well.

DirecTV states that this (non-update) has occurred ‘everywhere’. Who am I to say this is incorrect, Ah, additionally the Updates missed are for 2014 12 25, all of the oldest shows were removed the others remain. Receiver is an HR22/100 with software update 0x912, Wed 11/19, 3:15a

Captain Earth ep 12 and Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun ep 07 were added this week. However, Nozaki-kun ep 06 is still missing.

I’ll throw my name in the hat for the Cogeco Coalition : Nothing has been updated yet from 12/25, but it’s understandable since it came right on Christmas. I expect the update to come up early this week. I though there were some problems with Captain Earth, but the series just took a 2-week hiatus.

2014 really has been exceptional in the updating, I can’t recall any major problems like in years past, so let’s hope 2015 can be as good on that front. I hope to see the return of dubs as well ( c’mon AN Gods ! )

Been having Issues for 3 weeks with new episodes taking 2 weeks to appear on VOD


I’m missing all new episodes(43) :anger: from december 18th onwards

I will be Contacting Rogers Cable as well
At this point I’m debating whether my $7 subcription fee is even worth it anymore.

No updates at all for 12/25. I half expected this since it was Christmas day, but it sucks to have no new anime exactly when you have the time to watch it.

Also, a few lingering questions which remain unanswered:

  1. There have been hardly any dubs on VOD for a long time; is this a policy change by TAN?

  2. It seems that every update is going into the “Action” category. Has TAN decided to eliminate the “Girl Power” and “Super Happy Fun Time” categories? If so, it’s very inconvenient to have to scroll through a single huge list.

  3. Sorry, I don’t have any word about the dubs policy.

  4. Could you give me a list of anime which are NOT listed in “Action Zone”? We’re trying to figure out what’s happening with this and I need to have a list to work from.
    They should not ALL be going there.
