Missing TheAnimeNetwork for 10/27/2015
Rcvr is a HR22/100 access is via a Ethernet line off of a 1Gbit switch and a Centrylink 40Mbit line.

Current issues as of 10/27 2:56pm
Called Direct TV, discussed issue, as in there is no “The Anime Network”, there was no notice of TAN being dropped or moved.
Tech states that a number of VOD channels are currently missing, but TAN on 1889 is not listed among them, which tells me that it is likely that, . .
No One Bothered To Contact Direct TV First.
One of the channels affected was TCN 129? . . . 4?, used to be 1296, apparently DTV likes to re-address VOD channels to different locations differing from their original base number, i.e. 296 (TCN) + 1000 = (TCN/VOD) as are a number of local channels (now re-assigned).
In any case VOD for TCN is now back on (as 1296), some other channel had been given it’s number but it has been changed back.
On the other hand, TAN is not yet back, could it be that not .one . person . contacted . DTV . other than me?
DTV has sent an email to me stating that the issue has now been elevated, pardon me but when CSPAN suddenly is missing from your channel line-up, do you contact Congress, come-on people, priorities please.

I already know the issue with “The Disappearing Anime Network” is being worked on at the moment. But I thought I should mention that Windy Tales (09) has been uploaded. Of course, you must use smart search to find it. I don’t know when it was uploaded. It was probably uploaded the same time that TWC got it.
And still no sign of the update from last week. I am guessing it’ll show up once this problem has been resolved.

Hello Falling Tree and the Rest of the DirecTV users.
The errors that were occurring have been resolved and Anime Network’s channel on DirecTV Should be back up within the next day while they prepare to push the back log of content that is still in window out to the set top boxes.

Thanks for staying on top of this Moisme. I have had issues with them messing up your downloads for three consecutive years in a row. The average is every 6 weeks they forget or have issues with uploads / updating the guide so I had grown used to it (they blame you guys for it). After three years of mistakes and over 5 hardware swap outs all in an attempt to chase down the issue the truth comes out and it’s them. You may want to pay more attention to DirectTV because it is not just a one time thing. I will say that I am happy about the two credits they gave me to shut me up (I have been calling every other day since the 15th) however I would rather have the content. I’m actually on the phone with them as I’m writing this.
Rep JUST came back and told me that DirectTV was in negotiations with you guys and for what ever reason THEY DECIDED NOT TO CARRY YOU ANY MORE! That is direct contrast to what you posted. Someone needs to get to the bottom of this. I’m still on hold as I made them aware of your post and they are doing more research to see if they could find out why such a discrepancy in stance on behalf of both companies. Now this is just a supervisor that is relaying this information threw a regular rep. so there might be something lost in translation so to speak.
So after finally getting to speak to a supervisor and here is the NEW story: They admitted that the channel (here is the lost in translation part) is unavailable until and internet update goes out system wide (as Mo claimed). The reps. are seeing the missing channel and reading a builtin saying that the channel is no longer available and that is it the reason the “we no longer carry that channel any longer” comment came about. Technically it is true but not because they stopped working together. There is a bulletin / memo going out now clarifying things so that the next time one of us calls they can tell us the correct info.
BTW pointing them to Mo’s post on here was a huge help in getting them to admit it was their problem (which they blamed on the merger with ATT and the new systems / programs they are forced to institute) and create a memo with the correct information. Thanks again Mo for staying so open with us.
Count me in as another person not receiving the Anime Network On-Demand through DirecTV here in Portland, Oregon. I called DirecTV about it but no one could figure anything out. They said it appears that the channel is still connected but they don’t know why I’m not receiving it. Channel 1889 doesn’t appear anywhere anymore, not in my list of channel or anything, though when a technician was over here today aligning the satellite, he did manage to find it listed in some directory through the television but couldn’t connect to it, it just says “channel not available”.
So… No one here has any clue what’s going on. In fact, when the technician that was here called someone about it (I have no idea who he called) the person he talked to said that they didn’t know anything about it at all and hadn’t heard about it. I sure hope this gets fixed up, the Anime Network was my primary “channel”…
I there any sort of update at all from anywhere? It’s just kind of weird that it seems to have just disappeared from the face of the Earth. The best the DirecTV staff can say is pretty much “it exists but it doesn’t exist”.
Edit: I did just do a smart search and could find some of the series that were on the Anime Network, but they’re from a previous update, not a recent one, and some of the episodes are missing. For example, it has Brynhildr in the Darkness episodes 1, 2 and 4 but no episode 3. So it appears that the older episodes are still on the network but not all of them and it’s not being updated. The channel itself is no where to be found.

Anime Network is back up on the lineup. However, Chaika The Coffin Princess (07) and Windy Tales (11) are the only ones that were uploaded from the 10/29 update.
Meanwhile, missing from the 10/22 update are Brynhildr In The Darkness (03), Chaika The Coffin Princess (05), No Game, No Life (07-08), Hayate The Combat Bulter! Cuties (11-12), Student Council Discretion Level 2 (09) and Windy Tales (10). I think I missed a few episodes. I am not sure.
It’s good to see that channel back. Now we just to wait for the rest of the episodes from both updates to follow suit.
Channel is back up…sort of. First it came back up with a ton of stuff missing. As I was scrolling through trying to find out what did and did not get uploaded it switched to the old, “sorry there is nothing available at this time,” message. Seems like this is the norm everytime the add new stuff, so hopefully it will sort itself out soon. From what I can tell from the past upload schedule, even when it gets sorted out the following stuff will be missing.
