Full pull this week. As always, thanks to all who made it happen.

That said…

Four of those episodes had one or more “skips” that occurred during playback. These episodes also were missing the usual start-of-episode TAN intro, as reported earlier by @Jababbi/TWC. None of the episodes that displayed the usual TAN intro had any playback problems. The skipped sections can be played if playback is paused just prior to the skipped section, then advanced frame-by-frame until you’ve advanced into the skipped area. The remainder of the skipped section will then play normally, however another skipped section seems to appear shortly thereafter.
I can’t tell from what I’ve seen so far if the skips & missing intro are related or merely coincidence.
The four affected episodes were:
Chunibyo #7
Pastel Memories #11
Tsurune #4
Ushio & Tora #39

This also happened last week, but I didn’t log anything when it happened.

Am I the only DTV user seeing this?

Okay,

Clue the First (the most obscure one):
It involves the namesake of the crooks who threw kegs into a pond.

Since I’m posting, let me mention that I’m going to go back and do a revision of my post about the kludges: I figure that’s more efficient than taking up space by posting them yet again. It turns out [1] Ye Olde Kludge sometimes takes a different path for unknown reasons (Basically it kind of skips straight to note “a”, which still lets you get to #15), and [2] there’s an obvious shortcut in Ye New Kludge that I missed (sorry!). So I’ll revise the post accordingly.

The short version:

Well. this is a bit of a mess.

I’m missing two episodes on Cutting Edge–Chunibyo #8 and Dimension High #3–and three on On Demand–those two plus K-On! #4. One episode’s expiration date seems to have changed–Ushio & Tora #38 is now set to expire on 8/27 instead of 8/20–and for some reason Ushio & Tora #37 and #38, Pastel Memories #9, and Chunibyo #6 are all dotted as though they were new episodes, when they aren’t. (I don’t know if this represents some bug on TW/Spectrum’s part, ot whether it represents something about AN’s shipment, but maybe it’ll give wiser heads a clue as to what’s what.)

On the plus side, everything started up all right, but Tsurune #5, like its predecessors, is missing its AN intro promo, as are Basquatch! #1 & #2: “Somewhere out in the universe, in a single galaxy, lay the planet Earthdash…” (I’m glad it’s not so big that it takes up more than a single galaxy, or you’d be hard-pressed to call it a planet…but I’m not sure why the marital status of its parent galaxy is particularly relevant, even if two-galaxy households are preferable…I suppose you could have a planet that dropped into our spacetime from a Texas-style mutiverse where the physics was different and planets–and everything else–was much, much, much bigger…)

This is weird because all of the episodes are being sent with the promos intact.

There probably won’t be anything done about these, so please let me know if the absence of the promos is causing the sound to delay.

Basquash #1 and #2 (new series)

Dimension H.S. #3 (note - #1 and 2 were OK-this is a first for this series)

Tsurune #5

For the new wrinkle - it appears that an attempt is being made to correct the “missing intro/outro/skipping” issue…

Under the “Missed it? Watch now!” category, five additional episodes have appeared that at first glance appear to be duplicates of prior, non-current episodes. These “duplicates” are shown alongside their “originals” under their regular (SHFT/GP/AZ). Titles are identical - in fact, the only difference I can see between them are a one-minute difference in run time. It appears so far that the newly-loaded dups contain the missing TAN intros/outros that were missing in the originals. I’m currently in the process of downloading both originals and dups, and will advise once I see them.

New “duplicate” episodes are as follows:

Chunibyo #6 (run time 24 vs 25 minutes)

Pastel Memories #9 ((24 vs 25 minutes)

Tsurune #3 (25 vs 26 minutes)

Ushio & Tora # 37 and 38 (both 24 vs 25 minutes)

Explanation:

Clue the First (the most obscure one):

This refers to the source of the term “Moonraker”, which refers to a local legend of
[oops! have forgotten the name] [pauses to Google] Wiltshire County in England, where the townspeople were smugglers. They hid contraband kegs of brandy in the town pond, and when the taxmen happened by at night and caught them trying to recover the kegs with rakes, they pretended to be trying to get 'that cheese floating over there", namely, the full moon’s reflection. The taxmen mocked the country bumpkins, but after the taxmen left…

Clue the Second (a less-obscure one):
In an early chapter, a namesake of a Guardian of the Galaxy cheats at cards.

As you deduced, this refers to Hugo Drax, the villain of Moonraker, whom Bond bests despite Drax’s cheating.

Clue the Third would have been

O-O-O-O: Onscreen. Orchids. Orbits. Orthodonty Extreme.

Onscreen–it’s the movie version; Orchids–the source of the poison Drax plans to use to exterminate the world’s population. Orbits–the rockets, Drax’s space ark, etc. Orthodonty Extreme–the movie features the return of Richard Kiel as Jaws. (Check me on this, but I think he’s the only villain other than Blofeld himself to ever survive a Bond movie to “die another day”–and he doesn’t die at all. Ah, the power of love…)

As for the quote itself, it’s said by General Gogol, M’s Russian counterpart, when a phone call rousts him out of bed in the middle of the night. After the call, he returns to his bed…and his beautiful secretary.

After lengthy conversations with Admin, I’ve been informed that most Subscription VOD providers are moving to HD only. This means that any missing SD episodes that are on the report will not be repitched. Any SD content you have now will remain until it expires, and possibly some more SD episodes will be delivered for awhile, but they are working away from it all together.

So, I will be removing anything that has a missing SD episode; and you don’t need to include any more on your reports.
