After Neme got repaired again and we picked her up on Tuesday afternoon, we went to Lin’s Asian Garden. Got the takoyaki and the orange chicken special with miso soup!
Yami: “Geez, Maou… … Let me try it too…” She takes a bite. “SPICY!!!” She grabs and guzzles some water. “But… The flavor is super good. There’s a hot cheesy corn spread on it, as well as crushed Takis pieces and uses the spicy chicken sandwich as the base. If you like spicy, this is great!”
Yami: "We got the Whopper jr version cause the regular one was $10! Lol. Now, it is decent, with brisket, coleslaw BBQ sauce and pickles and tomatoes, but it’s definitely on the expensive side. Overall, it’s satisfactory if you’re craving BBQ and can’t get to an actual BBQ joint.
Yami: “After seeing The Naked Gun, we went to Culver’s nextdoor to the theater! Got the mushroom Swiss double butter burger with cheese curds, their famous root beer, and chocolate custard! Our favorite meal from them!”
Yami: “OH. MY. DEAR. SWEET. GOD… THEY NEED TO BRING THESE TO THE USA!!!”
Mikan: “Short version is Yami likes them. Lol. The raspberry creme has a very strong tartness to it, almost like the flavor or a raspberry jam. And it blends with the cookie wafer so well!”
Yami: “Yep!!! The blue raspberry pop tarts came back for a very limited Walmart exclusive run! And our Walmart had exactly two boxes left! You already know we got both of them! Lol.”
Yami: “It’s a 10 piece Mcnugget or Quarter Pounder with Cheese with a fry and special flavor shake. Plus a little Mcdonaldland travel kit!”
Nemesis: “The shake is cotton candy flavor, which kinda makes sense, with it’s bright blue colour and pink whipped cream.”
Mikan: “Honestly, even though the flavor has changed a bit, it does bring back memories of before McDonald’s became soulless husks of their former glory. A small bit of happiness, ya know?”
Nemesis: “One last thing though. This meal was $15. So there’s that too.”
They could have done reissues of the old McNugget buddies happy meal toys for a little added nostalgia. Or released the meal in one of the old ship shape happy meal boat boxes.
There are so many memories with happy meals in the l90’s early 2000’s. We had a ton of Legos and all those Halloween Happy Meal buckets. The Legos are still around in the collection.
Yami: “The chipotle ranch one is decent, with shredded cheddar, the slaw blend from the chipotle BBQ burrito we had a while ago, and pico, while the cheesy melt has rice, chipotle sauce, and lots of melted cheddar. … You should already know which one we like better… Lol”
Mikan: “Best part is unless you live somewhere like NY, they’re only $3 each! And steak!!!”
