Games You're Playing

I’ve been getting back into playing Star Wars: Battlefront II after a long and arduous tackle with the apparent “sound problems” the game files have. This most recent fix, where I put another pair of ear-buds into the microphone jack, seems to have worked, and I’ve been really enjoying the game. It’s a bit different than the PS2 version I loved so much, but most of the changes are for the better. There’s nothing like starting from scratch on a game you’ve already mastered. :stuck_out_tongue:

Now I just need to fix how it freezes after every session…

Wild ARMS 3- Ever since watching a walkthrough some time ago, I was intrigued by the challenge and apparent difficuty of the game. It was portrayed right- but it’s still a load of fun. Even the fact that I fought 12 FINAL BOSSES IN A ROW. WHAT. (TYKES.)

Soul Nomad and the World Eaters- I’m not sure if anyone remembers my ‘Nippon Ichi multiverse’ collection that I’ve been working on. Well, it’s finished now (for the PS2, at least- PS3/PSP/Vita’s another story…)! I was right in making this the last game in the collection to find- the AI is totally jerkish. It’s like they automatically target the units that’ll pick at my nerves, and it gets even worse by the end of the game. It’s still a lot of tactical fun, though, tykes.

Oh man I remember playing Wild ARMS 3 and it was a blast…i never got past this one area where you’re in some sort of metallic ship? I lost the game after that. ;_;

I just moved into a new apartment, so I haven’t had a chance to even hook up any of my consoles, so as far as games played: none.

I now remember why I used to play so much, and that’s to relieve stress. Really should play something this weekend…

Picked up Freespace and Freespace 2 of GoG.com. best 12 bucks i ever spent.

Wild Arms 3 was amazing, one of my favorite PS2 jrpgs. Nothing beat Suikoden III though. Grandia 2 was great as well.
Wild Arms 3 could be pretty relentless at times. Particularly when it gave you no direction on where to go. Basically just said, “go find a person that will help advance your goal” without telling you where to go or what to do. It’s nice to not always have your hand held through an entire game.

Hey guys, need a little help here.

Lady of Wicca lives in NY and is without internet at her home because of the hurricane. So, she’s been playing a video game to pass the time. She emailed me from her work and says she’s stuck.

She’s playing Dragon Warrior. She says that she’s put in over 300 hours in the game already and she’s getting a little frustrated, can anyone help?
I have a guide from gamefaqs, but it says that the king is in the halfling cave and he isn’t. His daughter is there, but she’s useless!!
And he isn’t in the castle - it’s a casino now. Someone there said he was someplace else, but that part happened already and I can’t go there anymore.
Any suggestion?

Is she playing the original Dragon Warrior? Since there is at least 10 games in that series now, it would help to narrow it down a bit.

She said to thank you, but she’s no longer playing. She got too frustrated last night and deleted the game. (She also said that it was either VI or VII.)

Playing today Black Ops 2, Halo 4, Assassins creed 3, terraria, minecraft, fallout new vegas and fallout 3.
Btw can’t wait for Fallout 4 :woohoo:
Hrm… Were you referring to the Ark of Destiny, Rai? (tykes?)

Oh, dear, Grandia II! One of my favorite series sue to its raw sense of adventure. Didn’t like III, though- it got waaaay too boring, tykes.

I agree with you on WA3- they give you help on the bosses in the beginning, but then after a while, the training wheels come off- only with you not noticing and coming up with solutions on your own! (At least, that’s how it was for me…
Whoa, are the classic Dragon Warriors really that frustrating? I’m really going to have to take a look, tykes. I’m only familiar with VIII and IX, with IX being my most favorite DS game.

Just got my hands on a new 3DS and Pokemon Conquest. An excellent combination of two of my favorite things- TRPGs and Pokemon… oh, yes.

Really, I’m not sure why I dont hear many others trying this game out. It’s a moderate level of challenging and the AI isn’t that bad. The story’s kinda flat, though… almost hard to tell that one exists, tykes. Maybe it’s because I’m too busy fighting random battles before continuing into the next kingdom…

I’ve been pretty burnt out recently due to the amount of games that came out as well as the latest Anime and new chapters in Manga all at the same time. As of now Im only playing Battlefield 3, Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 just to level up and get acheivements as well as Spartan Ops (Halo 4) Until then Need for Speed Most Wanted is waiting right there not even opened yet not to mention I need to finish up Skyward Sword, Xenoblades, and Last Story :frowning: All I know is dont tell me about Far Cry 3 it looks fun but I have too many things going as well as I didnt play the first 2 so I would like to play them first before 3.

What I have been playing, is a bunch of old(er) games, as well as some new ones…

World of Tanks: I play a lot of this, despite its many unrealistic flaws. Which isn’t so surprising considering my fascination with tanks… The best part is, it’s free to play! :woohoo:

Assassin’s Creed III: I’m slowly working my way through this, and while I’m finding the whole game to be just as fun as all the other Assassin’s Creed games, if not even more fun, what I find to be the greatest addition to this game is the ship combat, which is wonderful.

Company of Heroes: My friends and I have started playing this again with a really interesting mod which adds a lot more to the game.

Borderlands 2: My friend and I finally finished our first play through the game, and are on the first DLC now. I haven’t played much recently, since I just don’t feel like it.

Planetside 2: Another free to play game which is a whole lot of fun to play. I’ve been playing with my friends, and despite our chosen faction being completely outmatched all the time, usually fighting against the other two factions at the same time, It’s not as frustrating as you would expect. Of course, I think the other two factions have some kind of secret alliance…

Civilization V: I’m getting back into this again. It’s always a lot of fun to play, and even more fun to play with friends. I always play Japan because their special ability (called Bushido in the game) allows all military units to fight at full strength no matter how few hit points they have remaining… Plus, Samurai are probably my favorite early game unit.

League of Legends: Every time I say I’m never playing this game again, I end up playing it again anyway… I can’t escape it!

And that’s all the games I played this week. I would love to get back to finishing Persona 4 on the PS2 before starting it on the Vita, and I also need to get around to finally finishing Skyward Sword. I had rented Valkyria Chronicles a while back, and never finished it before I returned it. A few months ago it was on sale somewhere, so I picked it up and it’s still sitting on a shelf unopened. :frowning:

I have so many games that I just never play anymore, I’m considering just selling them to Amazon and making a little money off them, since they just sit on a shelf and collect dust anyway.

Final Fantasy X-2 and Red Dead Revolver.

I’ve got the new AC3 game and Lord of the Rings Lego game but I can’t stop playing Minecraft.

I know exactly what you mean regarding ‘burnt out’ when it comes to games. So much to play all at once and so little time! There is simply too much left unfinished to start anything new… I am so behind! Awww… the life of a gamer.

Also, I am kind of like you when it comes to starting at the beginning of a game series. However, Far Cry 3 to the best of my knowledge is a completely new story that is getting the game back to its ‘open world’ roots.

Bought Pokemon: Black Version 2 during Black Friday remains. Yup, Timber’s wrapped into catching 'em all for the 4th time in a row. I finished the main story in no time flat… but the Gym Leaders and even trainers were remarkably tougher than the Gym Leaders and trainers in Pokemon Black. Instead of having just one pokemon faint through a trainer battle, I’d suffer from at least four of them being KO’ed before defeating the second poke. (tykes, tykes)

…Also, has anyone heard the Battle Theme for Colress? Listen to it. Like, RIGHT NOW, tykes.

Also finally bought ClaDun x2 from Steam (A half-price special! Glad I waited, tykes!), but I cant play it until my laptop is fixed.

Also, also, with my new Pokemon game, I’m looking towards completing the pokedex again and could use some help, along with some friendly battles now and then. When I return home for Winter Break, I’d appreciate anyone’s friend codes who’re willing to lend a hand, tykes.

The only comparison I have is the old Dragon Warrior IV for the NES vs its DS counter-part. DWIV was one of my favorite game growing up because the world was absolutely huge, the dungeons were long and you had to level-grind often because you would get your party slaughtered whenever you went to a new continent. I picked up the DS version a few years back and it felt like a pocket version of the original game (well…it is but you know what I mean). The overworld and dungeons maps are much smaller and there’s no real challenge except for winning at the casino.

I picked up a while ago the Fist of the North Star game on XB360. I didn’t expect a masterpiece but, for the $ 10 I’ve payed, it can be classified under the “entertaining crap” category. If you’re not familiar with the Hokuto no Ken story and characters, this isn’t the game for you as the game takes for granted that you already know everything about HnK. That being said, playing as Raoh is truly a blast. The guy is an absolute tank that could squish King Kong under his toe.

A gruesome, painful death to those foolish enough to dare challenge the King of Fist !

So over the past few weeks I haven’t had much time to play anything other than osu and what little Sim City 3000 I could, but now I’m slowly getting back into some of the games I left off.

The first one I picked back up in was Star Wars: Empire at War, which I haven’t been playing too much, but have been setting up random skermish matches here and there.
Another one I have picked back up on was my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in Hero Mode. This time I have no problem with having too much money, and it’s just the right level of difficulty for me. :stuck_out_tongue:

One game that I have highly considered picking back up (which I probably will sooner than I post back here) is Phantom Brave. I think it’s about time I gave it another shot.

Happy Gaming! :3

You have no idea how hard it was to resist putting “The Legend of Groose” down. X3
