Gather Anime Lovers

I’m Jissel and I love anime (obviously), unfortunately must of the people I know in real life can’t stand anime. T_T SO I hope I can meet more people so I can actually talk about anime freely. :cheer:

I live in Orlando, Florida but I am originally from Chicago.
I’m a serious gamer, reader, and computer lover.

~Jissel

Hey, welcome! I’m also a pretty avid gamer/reader myself–we’ve got threads for both http://www.theanimenetwork.com/component/option,com_kunena/Itemid,65/catid,11/func,view/id,7435/ and http://www.theanimenetwork.com/component/option,com_kunena/Itemid,65/catid,11/func,view/id,2880/limit,10/limitstart,210/ as it turns out. What games do you play? I’m actually playing GTA IV: Ballad of Gay Tony on the 360 right now. The pause music is sick.

I’m also reading The Rum Diaries by Hunter S. Thompson. Haven’t gotten too far in it, but if it’s like Fear and Loathing, I’ll love it.

Welcome to the board. Hope to see you keep posting.

Hello Jissel, I am the great and powerful VercigenariX. I have zero importance on this forum, but I do tend to Moderate my own B.S. and I am also and Administrator of dreadlocks, so if you ever want hair that you have to ring out like a towel after washing, come to me !

I originate and currently live in Buffalo NY.

I used to be a serious gamer (First Person Shooters, Textual Based Online Roleplaying Games, Actual roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Rifts, MMO’s, ect…) but now these days I stick to an hour of Halo 3 or Mass Effect).

I used to know how to read, but now im Illiterate (stephen kings dark tower series and things like that, lots of richard dawkins, and other religion based books as its always been a curiosity to me).

I am a computer lover. Actually when I first started school I my major was computer science, then I switched to Information Technology which im going to be finishing in about a week. Then Im leaving computers behind and switching to business. Though I am quite good with them, I’ve learned the difference between being a hobbyist and actually working with computers which isn’t as enjoyable as building your own machine and tinkering with your xbox.

So yes, you’re in good company. And post a lot. And the Hentai guy is pretty cool, don’t let his name and creepy picture fool ya !

Yo!!!

You should get a picture of a Tonka Truck or the tonka logo as your profile picture. That would be awesome !

Okay, I guess he can be kinda creepy.

Also man, you read Richard Dawkins? I just started The God Delusion a few days ago, it being the first book I’ve read by him. I’m not sure what to expect from it though, is it some kind of atheist manifesto or does it just bash religion? Regardless, the man can write, so it should be a fun read either way. Afterwards I’m hoping to read The Selfish Gene, that’s supposedly his magnum opus.

You are pretty damn funny, I like that ^^.
Right now I play Star Trek Online, I do not have much time to play games -
- but I play as much as I can and I read as much as I can.

No worries Hentai guy doesn’t look scary at all. It takes a lot to scare me. I will definitely post a lot. If I don’t you can maim me. haha.

Oh funny Hentai guy, I’ll pick up that book and give it a read it seems interesting.

To me chapter 5 made the book. The only problem I have is that in a way, it seems like he wrote the book for people who already share his line of thinking. I personally believe he should have toned it down a bit for people who are questioning religion and are looking to be pulled one way or another.

I hear Star Trek Online is pretty good, but I don’t want to get trapped up in another addictive game. I finally pulled myself away from World of Warcrack and things like that. As far as reading goes, Im not opening anything but a text book these days. I work full time and go to school full time, so all of my leisure time is spent either with Jack Daniels, Anime, or Halo!

Thanks. You guys are so helpful, every other forum I’ve been on people are Douches!

Very true I never said what animes I like or currently watching. Right now I’m watching Destiny Shrine, Naruto, Bleach, and Inuyasha. Plus What Anime Network has on demand. My first anime was Sailor Moon so I will always be loyal to my sailor scouts. I love Inuyasha and I must admit He is my Master was so Awesome, 12 episodes makes me sad there wasn’t more. I need to be exposed to more so that I can have a true favorite but right now I don’t. -_-

Woo! I go to school and work as well so I know how hard it is to do anything fun. Jack, Anime, and Halo…what a good threesome!

I had to pull away from WOW and Everquest, but now that I’m playing STO I’m addicted but I still do what I have to. Thankfully.

Hey Elphie. Welcome to the forums.

That’s odd, because in the prologue he stated how his ultimate goal in writing the book was to uplift religion’s veil to the masses. So it is more of a manifesto–I can appreciate that, but I agree that it would have been better if he’d aimed more towards the pious rather than preaching to the choir.

Glad you don’t think I’m some kind of creeper Elphie, haha.

Welcome to the boards! We don’t bite that much so stick around. Feel free to start posting all around the forums.
