So this is kind of an office myth. If you listen to “Only Shadow” By My Bloody Valentine (old shoegaze band, NOT emo band) with the bass low and treble high, you can here most of the mystery behind all of the new names.

SPOOKY!
So there is really nothing to it someone just thought it sounded cool?

Will you pay my internet bill? I can’t watch stuff on the Online Player because of the load as you go, if I could pause and build a buffer I can watch stuff on the already mentioned Crunchyroll, Hulu, and even Joost(some reason Funimation’s player doesn’t work for me now either) and I have DSL internet.

Also did you say the dub studio was active earlier in this thread?

Sorry I can barely pay my own internet bill, I’ve been living on sandwiches and fruit punch for a while now. >.>

I dont see how “rattling around” translates to dub work being done. They could just be hunting for rats, or something. But realistically, who knows?

We don’t really have rats around here, just so you know. >.>

Mita where do you think they record all the Anime Network promos? Like the new one released, the sequel to the 110% commercial.

Wait this is going into a whole different tangent. Sub only releases are done by the American companies. If you read one of my earlier posts, you’ll see the flow of how some sub only shows can eventually be dubbed over with English.

=D

I probably broke the whole quote sequence since I can’t see anything on these forums or make heads or tells of them, but hope this post still makes sense…

What I mean is, in the past I think dragoon, stated on the old forums or maybe yourself, that Japan decides on how the subs are to be, and what color to use, or something like that…or maybe some international sub deciding group because you see the same yellow small words on many subbed things. Well someone needs to explain to them that by being bigoted against those with poor eyesight, they are excluding many people that may purchase they wares IF they were given an equal chance to enjoy them as those with good eyesight; if only the subs were in a manner that took into account people with poor eyesight. Elderly, those born with only one working eye, or otherwise have partial eyesight due to tragic mishaps and such.

(not excluding blind because they would likely benefit no different no matter how the subs are presented. :frowning: And the 100% blind should have the options to speak for themselves until I join their ranks within the next few years.)

So why, if some conglomerate is making such a decision, don’t the people doing the subbing (legally), explain that this narrow view (no pun intended) of sub treatment is cutting off not only viewers being able to enjoy a good sub, but their own profits and market growth?

I understand that fansubs use soft vs hard subs and things are a bit different, but you can alter the standard sub format to make the words more available to the partially sighted such as closed captions do for non-subbed material.

B) Hope that makes the questions a bit more clear and less hostile sounding?
So TAN can’t do simulcasting at the moment?

What are all us members wearing? Oh, I think I forgot that you never claimed to be psychic.

Can we get a TAN promo with Rai in it soon?

Rai answered that in page 2 or 3.

The problem with simulcasting is TV companies who fund production of anime want exclusivity. They are after all paying for it.

Here’s an analogy: If you spent a ton of money on a videogame or DVD, would you lend it to your friend before you had a chance to play/watch it?

tits goon you have 1337 posts =)

anyway, if that’s the case then you either have to make it worth their while to lose exclusivity OR find a date adjustment where they can retain the exclusive rights for a month or two then you guys do your thing.

Funi somehow magically did it with FMA? Are they better than you?

Oh nice number.

Well right now they have domination of the retail market with a lot of mainstream titles, so yes they have a great deal of leverage and they have a very generous parent company.

ADV was hurt badly post-Sojitz split last year, so they are rebuilding.

Nothing can stop Gen.

 ADV is dead. :S

Except for Papa Navarre. And Funi won’t be able to do a ‘bleep’ thing about it. So I assume.

I was talking about post Sojitz. There was an ADV up until a few days ago. As far as dead, the name is gone - yes, but ADV has evolved as a result of that. What the future holds though, remains to be seen.

Yeah ADV went with the divide and conquer route. Split up to take over other things with focused management and priorities. Sad the logo is gone, but what the other anime people in NA neglected was that by striking ADV down, they would only make them stronger.

POWER! UNLIMITED POWER!

Well hopefully.

Why do I have a cursor blinking in dragoon’s post…I think I broke something. :frowning:

 A quick reply that doesn’t quote…but how did I do it to begin with.

Yeah ADV will get stronger, it is the path of the Sith after all.

At least they didn’t pull an Andross.

Dear Rai,

I think The Anime Network should hire me. I haz Skilz
