Episode #15

Episode 10 â
Sakura is a huge fan of a Yumesaki High School rock band and has been asked to go to a tea party with them. She wants Misa to go as well as Shizuko. Sakura is in love with the singer, Kuuga and Misa, wanting to show her support for Sakura, agrees to go, but I donât think Takumi is very happy about it. Sakura gives Misa a cd to listen to, but she doesnât seem very impressed. However, she finds out the band is very popular and even Satsuki is considering a âGlam-Rock Dayâ at the cafĂ©.
Itâs funny that the three idiots are saving up for a splurge at Maid Latte and have even gotten jobs. They are really determined to have a picture taken with Misa, but I doubt they will ever beat her at a game. However, they do happen to be working at the very cafĂ© where the tea party will be taking place. This should be funny. While the three idiots fight over who will take Misaâs order, the band shows up and introduce themselves to the girls. Shizuko spends her time ignoring everyone and staring out the window. Misa doesnât get Sakuraâs tastes, but is happy to see her friend so ecstatic. The three idiots overhear Kuuga telling Kou he wants Misa and they panic.
The girls get invited to a live show and Shizuko declines and goes back to people watching. Misa says she doesnât have time, but Kuuga tries to talk her into going. Misa doesnât like his attention and tries to shift it back to Sakura, but Kuuga wonât be swayed. He and Kou even corner Misa outside the bathroom. Kuuga makes a play for Misa and Misa doesnât want Sakura to get hurt. Kuuga gets more insistent and suddenly Takumi is there posing as a waiter and getting between them. Kuuga wants to know who he is and Kou says that itâs obviously her boyfriend, but Misa denies it and Takumi says that heâs âjust a stalkerâ. Misa tries to explain that Takumi isnât really a stalker, but Kuuga has had enough and walks away.
Then Misa finds out that Takumi really doesnât work there, but Takumi backs her into the wall and tells her that heâs very possessive. Misa tells him that sheâs only there because of Sakura and now isnât sure what she should do. Sheâs very confused and doesnât understand these things. Takumi pats her on the head and walks away, leaving Misa even more confused.
Kuuga talks to Sakura about Misa and Sakura gets the message that Kuuga likes Misa instead of her. Misa returns to the table and sees how hurt Sakura is and becomes angry at Kuuga. Then Kuuga asks Misa for a date right in front of Sakura and thinks that Misa is some kind of wild woman, which only makes Misa angrier. But itâs Sakura that puts a stop to things and tells Kuuga not to talk about Misa that way. Then Misa gives Kuuga a piece of her mind for the way he treated Sakura. She says that she despises him and grabbing him by his tie, says that sheâd never give Sakura to âa piece of filthâ like him.
Misa did such a nice thing for her friend and yet Shizuko, who had been people watching the whole entire time, later yells at Misa for losing patience and then Shizuko yells at Sakura for being so easily deceived. Sakura runs to Misa for comfort and Misa, unsure what to do, awkwardly pats Sakuraâs head the way Takumi patted hers. This makes Sakura very happy and she now says that she will fall in love with someone that pats her head like that.
Later, Misa thinks about what Sakura said and hopes her friend finds a good man. When she looks up, Takumi is there, waiting for her and she blushes when she thinks of him patting her head. Embarrassed to be caught thinking that way, she angrily asks Takumi what heâs doing there. Takumi says that heâs just being a stalker and maybe he should follow her home in true stalker fashion which flusters her. They are just so cute together! Back at the other cafĂ©, Kou is lecturing Kuuga to be more adult and the three idiots just want them all to get out!
Maid-Sama #18
That may have been one ofthe first times Iâve seen someone get felt up in an anime on purpose. Even if she was strapped down at the time.

But got to say, that was bold and quick thinking. Impressive, most impressive.

Sadly, by the time we see those typos, they are cast in stone. Iâd love to be a proofreader for Sentai Filmworks. I think Iâd be good at it.
Episode 11 â
Itâs funny that Takumi helps a woman with her apples and it turns out to be Misaâs mother. She goes on and on about her daughter and Takumi finally realizes who her daughter is. Minako invites Takumi into the house and itâs funny that Suzuna thinks heâs there to fix the floor and then he does!
Misa is shocked to find Takumi sitting with her mother and sister when she comes home and drags him outside by the hand. Unfortunately, Sakura and Shizuko see them leaving Misaâs house and think theyâre holding hands. Misa and Takumi end up in the park and Misa thanks him for helping her mother but forbids him to ever come to her house again.
The next day, Sakura and Shizuko think Misa is dating Takumi and Misa has to tell them what really happened. Her friends are disappointed, but still hopeful because they think Misa and Takumi make a good couple. Sakura starts to speculate about Takumi and his life outside of school and wants them to go see his house. Of course Takumi overhears all of this.
Sakura and Shizuko then tail Takumi right to Maid Latte and Misa! Thankfully, they call Misa to tell them where they are. The three idiots are there too and Misa panics. Her boss sends her home and the three idiots are so disappointed to hear that Misa isnât working just when they thought to impress her. So much for their splurge! Misa joins her spying friends outside the cafĂ© and they give her a disguise and convince her to join them in following Takumi. Takumi must know that theyâre following him because he does everything he heard Sakura imagine about his personal life.
But itâs too much for Misa when they think that Takumi is meeting a girl at a restaurant and she leaves. Her friends join her and she finally convinces them that she doesnât want to know Takumiâs secrets. Yet, when he runs out of the restaurant in a kimono, they follow him anyway and he puts on a good show for them. As it gets later, Sakura finally gives up and they stop following Takumi. Sakura takes back Misaâs disguise and she and Shizuko go home, leaving Misa behind.
Misa ends up taking to Takumi and finds out that he knew all along that they were following him. He also liked that Misa was showing an interest in him and Misa tries to deny it. Takumi tells her that if she asks him, heâll tell her everything about himself and even gives her his address which she tosses away. Misa says that she really doesnât care about his private life after all and Takumi comes to the conclusion that Misa loves him for himself.
Misa calls him an idiot and tells him to go home. He invites her to go with him and of course Misa declines and Takumi seemed a little disappointed with her answer. But it was sweet of him to take the kitten home with him. And I see that Misa did keep his address after all. Perhaps she is more curious about him than she cares to admit.
Episode 12 â
Itâs the day of the Sports Festival and each event has a very special prize for the winner, but the Obstacle Course prize is a kiss from Sakura, much to her dismay. Because itâs Misaâs mistake, she promises to protect Sakura. Takumi plans on just watching and not participating, but I have a feeling that things wonât work out that way.
Misa pretty much wins every event and gets all the prizes for the girlâs team but the boys donât like this and Takumi overhears some boys say that theyâll do whatever it takes to win Sakuraâs kiss. When the obstacle course starts, many are disqualified and it looks like itâs down to Misa and Gouda. At the pool, Gouda tries to push Misa in, but Takumi is right there as usual to save her. Misa doesnât have the strength to keep going, so Takumi takes over for her. But Misa keeps going anyway, determined to catch up to the two of them and she does.
However, after the Volleyball Club attack, it looks like only Gouda and Takumi are tied for first place. Gouda tries to trip Takumi, but he sees it coming and wins anyway, with Misa taking second place. When Takumi gets the prize of Sakuraâs kiss, he gives it to Misa, saying that he doesnât need it and Sakura gladly kisses Misa on the cheek. Suzuna drops by and wants her sister to enter other sports competitions for prizes.
The three idiots have made Misa a maid outfit instead of attending the Sports Festival, but have to hide it when they hear someone coming and the outfit ends up in the pile for the Costumed Race. Misa is tired and plans on sitting out the race, but Takumi tries to talk her into it and even says that heâll join her. But Sakura and Shizuko tell her to rest and that they will compete instead. However, Misa canât let them do it and decides to compete herself. Takumi joins her and so does Yukimura, but Takumi just wants to cosplay with Misa.
Of course Misa ends up with the maidâs outfit and Takumi would love to change her into it. Misa throws the costume bag at him, but hits Yukimura with it instead when Takumi ducks out of the way. In the following scramble, Yukimura ends up with the maidâs outfit and everyone says it suits him and teases him endlessly. Misa wants to go save him, but Takumi wonât let her, insisting that she put on her own costume and join the race or be disqualified.
Misa quickly changes into the costume and joins Yukimura, saying that they should run together and Takumi joins them. The three of them win, but Misa and Takumi get disqualified for their costumes, so I guess Yukimura is the sole winner. Takumi later treats Misaâs wounds in the nurse office. Isnât it amazing that the actual nurse is never around? Misa says that sheâd like to make the costumed race better so that people will take it seriously, but freaks out when Takumi kisses her hand and tells her that she did a good job. The three idiots finally find Misaâs present in the trash, but the maid outfit is ruined beyond repair and I actually feel a little badly for them this time.
Episode 13 â
Yukimura is roped in to dressing like a girl again, but is mistaken for Shirakawaâs girlfriend and kidnapped by someone that wants to fight Shirakawa. But he isnât that person anymore, so when Misa and Takumi find the three idiots outside of school and they explain what happened, Misa decides that she will have to save Yukimura.
It turns out that Aoi also attends Seisen Jr. High and fills Misa in on who Aratake is. The three idiots try to figure out who Aoi is, since he looks so familiar. Meanwhile, Yukimura is tied up at Aratakeâs hideout. Aratake unties him, but still plans to use him as bait and doesnât listen to Yukimuraâs protests that heâs really a guy. He even tries to show Aratake that heâs a guy by starting to take off his top, but Aratake throws his jacket over him and says that a girl shouldnât show off her body that way. Even so, Aratake says that Yukimura sounds like a guy and should speak more like a girl, but he leaves before Yukimura can say anything else.
The program break with the three idiots and the Misa doll was funny. Because Misa is worried about confronting the delinquents in their school uniforms and giving Seika a bad name, Aoi produces costumes for all of them and under the guise of a TV drama, they practice being delinquents themselves. Of course Aoi is dressed as a girl and the three idiots think she is even more familiar, but just canât place her.
Suzuna happens upon the group and wants to join them but Misa wonât let her and she finally goes home. Then Satsuki comes along and thinks Misa looks so cute that they should have a âDelinquents Dayâ event at the cafĂ©. By the time she finally leaves, Takumi wonders if Yukimura is even still alive. But then Sakura and Shizuko arrive. Suzuna told them they were making a move and they want to help. They even brought props and Shizuka produces a sword and a gun, while Sakura has a big bottle of fake blood. Even the Ayuzawa Cram School shows up and wants to be extras.
Iâm not even sure why Aratake even wants to fight Shirakawa since heâs the one that saved Aratake from some bullies when he was younger. The group finally makes it to the hideout and Shirakawa ends up fighting Aratake anyway. He remembers Aratake and it turns out that Aratake only wants to be a hero like Shirakawa was to him. Misa is totally confused and the delinquents turn their attention to her. I like how Takumi intentionally lets it slip that Misa tore off Shirakawaâs earring, but as they step towards her, the three idiots stand up for her and even let it slip that sheâs a maid. And with all this new found camaraderie, poor Yukimura is totally forgotten about and sits alone in the dark, locked up and hungry.
Episode 14 â
Misa would like to see the female population increase at Seika, but one girl hating student is against that and some odd incidents begin to take place within the Student Council. Then some music comes over the loud speakers that makes people sleepy, so Misa goes to investigate and gets hypnotized.
Takumi finds her asleep and takes her to the nurseâs office. She wakes up and acts drunk, but Takumi canât smell any alcohol on her breath. However, he does take her picture to show her later so sheâll believe what happened. Then Misa starts undressing and Takumi accuses her of seducing him. He ties the blanket around her and tells her she looks like a spring roll. He should have taken a picture of her like that too! Iâm glad he enjoyed himself so much. But Misa breaks out and begs Takumi to undress her because sheâs so hot and finally passes out.
The next day, much to her embarrassment, Takumi shows her the pictures and asks if anyone was in the broadcasting room with her. Misa tries to piece things together and Takumi says that she was probably hypnotized. He doesnât tell her, but he has a pretty good idea of who it is as well. Takumi later determines that Soutarou Kanou hates girls and also has a âspecial skillâ. Kanou tries to hypnotize Takumi and tells him to hate Misa, but this just doesnât work on Takumi which shows how strong his will is.
Meanwhile, Misa also figures out who the culprit is and confronts Kanou, but he hypnotizes her again and Takumi is too late to save her. This time, Kanou tells them that if Misa should fall asleep within the following twenty-four hours, she will wake up hating Takumi. Misa isnât sure why Kanou did that since she claims to already hate Takumi, but Takumi just smiles and says that Kanou didnât see things that way. Of course, Takumi is determined not to let Misa fall asleep and Misa is just as determined to stay awake because she doesnât want Kanou to have his way.
Takumi plans on staying with Misa all night to keep her awake, but she wonât let him and threatens to call the cops. He relents, but keeps calling her and she keeps hanging up on him. Misa tells Takumi that she hates him, but he tells her that she really loves him. This flusters her, but maybe it makes her think too. Takumi spends all night outside of her house and is there when she opens the door the next morning to get the paper â which Takumi is already reading. She doesnât even invite him in for breakfast, but when she leaves for school, she surprises him with a pastry and tells him that she really will call the cops if he does this again.
Yukimura becomes Kanouâs next victim and Kanou gets him to give Misa something to make her sleepy. With less than an hour to go, Misa is getting really sleepy and goes to get some fresh air. Takumi follows her and she asks him to hit her, saying that the anger will keep her awake, but she wants to be able to hit him back too. Takumi tells her sheâs irrational and that he couldnât hit her anyway. He tells her that â âThe thing about hypnosis is if the listener feels distrust, the hypnotic suggestion wonât take.â Takumi also tells Misa â âYouâre the one person Iâd never want to hate me.â
Misa accuses Takumi of making fun of her but surprises him again by saying sheâs also grateful for the things heâs done and that she has yet to repay him. He says that heâll keep helping her anyway and will also make her love him. Takumi tells her to just leave things to her âMasterâ and Misa says heâs talking nonsense just as she falls asleep. Kanou appears and claims heâs won since itâs only been twenty-three hours and fifty-five minutes. Yet, somehow I just know Misa will not wake hating Takumi as Kanou wants her to. Maybe she really isnât asleep yet. Or maybe Takumi changed the clocks.
I was so shocked at the cliffhanger ending that I almost went to the online player to watch the next episode! I am thoroughly enjoying this series.
It was funny to see Misakiâs hypnotic âreversalâ, with her âcoming onâ to Takumi. Iâve heard that even with hypnosis you canât get a person to do something against their deepest held beliefs, so is this scene revealing Misakiâs subconscious desires? For Takumiâs part, he shows himself to be a gentleman and the depth of his caring for Misaki that he doesnât take advantage of her. He does quote Dustin Hoffmanâs famous line from The Graduate, though. I want to know, however, just where DID he get the rope from? I also liked the âBoys and Girls, donât do this at homeâ disclaimer when we see the mummified Misaki.
Takumi used Yukimura (dressed as a girl) to confirm his suspicions about Kanou. This has gotten to be a running gag! When Kanou found out he couldnât attack the Takumi side of the âunbeatable duoâ, he returns to destroy the relationship through Misaki. Of course, we have to wait to see if he succeeds, but I have a feeling that all this will do is peel back a bit more of the shell Misaki has around the true feelings she has for Takumi.
Episode 15 â
Iâm so happy Misa didnât end up falling asleep at the last minute! But as punishment, Misa gives Kanou to Sakura, Shizuko, and the girls that volunteered to be the cafeteria staff during the open house. Although Yukimura is in charge of the staff and keeping an eye on Kanou, Kanou still tries to run away many times, but Misa is always there, giving him the evil eye. Watching him this way, she determines that he may not really hate girls after all.
Takumi seems to be popular with the middle school visitors, so Misa makes him help out the sports clubs. The school tours end in the cafeteria that has been turned into a Maid CafĂ©, much to Misaâs embarrassment. Kanou has been made a waiter and still gets to wear a hood, but it has bunny ears attached. Itâs an odd headpiece, but seems to work â at least for the cuteness factor.
Kanouâs unease with girls is finally revealed in a flashback when his father tells him that âwomen are more delicate and fragileâ than he thinks and why his mother âbrokeâ and had to leave when he was four years old. But now he realizes that this wasnât the case at all. Kanou had associated this past pain of his mother leaving with all girls and thought them scary. Even as Misa sees this, Kanou realizes that girls are not as weak and fragile as he had always thought. I think perhaps Misaâs own strength may have had something to do with opening his eyes to this fact as well. At least heâs no longer afraid of girls.
I like how Misa calls Kanou âbunny four-eyesâ and he even helps a middle school girl to not be afraid of boys anymore by casting a fake magic spell to make her feel better. In the end, Kanou worked so hard that Misa forgives him for his past indiscretions and I think Misa just got another fan.
At the end of the successful day, Takumi gets Misa alone and complains that she never checked on him once all day and that she owes him some thanks. Misa does offer her appreciation for his help with the sports clubs, but then he complains that it isnât sincere enough and asks her to do something that would make her happy. So, Misa surprises Takumi by hesitatingly patting him on the head and tells him that he did a good job. But then Takumi had to go and ruin this sweet moment by asking Misa if he could âravageâ her and things are back to normal between them. And did they really have to make Yukimura a maid too?
Episode 16 â
Itâs summer vacation and the Maid Latte staff has been invited to stay at the beach by Satsukiâs sister, Nagisa. Aoi is there too, his father hoping that Nagisa can make him more âmanlyâ. I like how Nagisa takes his wig and wonât give it back. Then Misa finds Takumi lounging on the terrace. Satsuki asked him to come and be a bodyguard. Now thatâs a strange request!
The other girls have cute swimsuits, but practical Misa is wearing her school swimsuit and I donât think Takumi was expecting that â or that Misa could swim so well, thus not needing him for âmouth-to-mouthâ. The girls find out that the Beach House isnât doing well financially and they decide to have a âMaid Latte Off-Site Guerrilla Event â Swimsuit Dayâ although I donât think thatâs what Misa had in mind. Aoi wants to help too, but Nagisa wonât let him, making him clean instead. Misa elects to help him instead of being a maid and Aoi teases her about her lack of swimsuit sexiness.
Once Misa sees the other girls working so hard, she changes into a bikini swimsuit maid outfit that Satsuki loaned to her. Takumi wakes from a nap to see this incredible outfit and asks her if she intends to go out like that. When Misa says she is, Takumi grabs her and puts a hickey on her back, forcing her to wear a tee shirt to work in. I liked the smug look on his face too.
That night, Nagisa throws a barbecue to thank the girls for their help and hard work and Satsuki gives them passes to a nearby hot spring. Honoka tells them that the area is haunted and tells them a ghost story that scares Misa. But they are still going to the hot spring and someone suggests they bathe naked. Suddenly, Misa is concerned about the hickey on her back and decides not to go, telling the others that she doesnât feel well and Takumi stays behind as well. It looks like Misa doesnât want to be alone with Takumi either.
When he finds her, Misa blames Takumi for ruining all her fun because of that hickey, but Takumi thinks itâs more because sheâs afraid of ghosts. Then Misa realizes the girls forgot the passes for the hot spring and decides she should try to catch them so they donât have to end up paying. Takumi tells her to watch out for ghosts, but she goes anyway, trying to convince herself that ghosts arenât real. However, being alone in the dark woods only increases her anxiety, so that when Takumi catches up to her, sheâs terrified until she realizes itâs him.
Yet, Misa still canât catch her breath and Takumi very sweetly comforts her by hugging her and insists on holding her until she calms down. Just as she starts to hug him back, Aoi pops up and accuses them of getting all âtouchy-feelyâ and I see he got his wig back, although itâs a little worse for wear. Misa tries to explain as Takumi walks off, but Aoi tells her to just admit she likes Takumi already and it does seem to make Misa think. I like how it said that the day âled to a night that was a little hotter than usualâ.
Once at the hot springs, Misa finds out the passes she brought them were spares. Takumi picks up Aoi and heads for the menâs side, saying they may as well go in since theyâre there. But a protesting Aoi doesnât want to go to the menâs side and I loved the looks on the other male guestâs faces! I wonder if Misa ends up going in as well. With her hickey!
Episode 17 â
Suzuna is still eating her watermelon and the gang is still at the beach. Nagisa will allow Aoi to dress as he likes if he can win the beach volleyball tournament âlike a manâ which also might impress his father just enough to loosen up towards him a bit. Aoi agrees but needs to find a partner. Of course, Misa, impressed with his passion, finds a way for Aoi to ask her to be his partner, but she had no idea that the winning pair would be crowned as the beach prince and princess. Takumi looks uncomfortable too at hearing that and later asks her not to participate, but Misa is determined to help Aoi.
At the tournament, Misa and Aoi find out that Erika and Takumi have entered as well and that Takumi is just as determined to win as they are. I think he really doesnât want to see Misa crowned princess and get all the attention that would go with it â jealous guy! Misa and Aoi win every game and make it to the playoffs, but so do Erika and Takumi. They must now face each other and Takumi plays effortlessly, hardly breaking a sweat. It looks as if Misa and Aoi may lose, but theyâre still determined to win.
Misa just canât figure out what has gotten into Takumi. Up until now, heâs always been there for her and she was starting to think he was a good guy, but now heâs just playing with her and that makes her more angry than sheâs ever been at him. Misa calls out to Takumi and asks why heâs suddenly her enemy which startles Takumi up a bit and he seems to lighten up a little on his next serve. However, the wind blows in and although Misa makes a difficult return, she loses her balance and is about to hit her head against the pole thatâs holding up the net, when Takumi literally files to her rescue and puts himself between Misa and the pole.
Takumi gets a bad bruise in the process and much later, a worried Misa follows him along the beach, saying that he shouldnât be up and moving around. Takumi tells her that sheâs worrying too much, but she says she has to since it was her fault and he asks her if sheâs following him out of guilt instead of celebrating her victory. Misa says that since she caused the other team harm, she canât be happy about winning the tournament.
Meanwhile, Erika decides to be âacting princessâ and Nagisa congratulates Aoi, impressed by his determination. Back on the beach, Takumi chides Misa for being reckless again, although he also praises her efforts. Misa apologizes to him, but Takumi doesnât forgive her and then asks what she would do if he really said something like that. He chuckles and she accuses him of making fun of her again. Misa begins to yell at him, but Takumi cuts her off by saying that he didnât like the idea of her being the beach princess. He admits that he didnât want to see her in clothes that would make other guys happy or having her âpicture taken with guys thinking lewd thoughtsâ â he just didnât want to see her like that.
Misa asks Takumi if that was the only reason he wanted to win and when he says it was, she tells him that Aoiâs winning was so much more important than that. But he sweetly disagrees with her and tells her that she still doesnât get it. She asks him âget what?â and accuses him of always playing around. Takumi takes her arm and tells her to look at him closely; he says that he isnât playing now and moves towards her. Takumi is just about to kiss Misa, but is interrupted by a fireworks display that is closing the festival. Misa seems both a little annoyed and a little relieved that the kiss didnât happen. She closes her eyes and Takumi cups her cheek with his hand and tells her sheâs âhotâ. Between that and his big grin, a flustered Misa insists that itâs just her sunburn and says that they should go back to the others.
When they do, they find Aoi dressed as a princess and she tells them that she is the best choice to be one! And since their trip is over, Satsuki gathers everyone together for a picture, but it really didnât turn out all that well. However, I think Misa might be more open to Takumiâs affections after this. And I canât believe that the three idiots spent their entire summer vacation sitting outside of Maid Latte waiting for Misa to come back! Actually, Iâm surprised that they didnât somehow end up at the beach as well. And I wonder if Suzuna will ever finish all that watermelon!
Am I wrong to get a sense that Aoi also likes Misa, if just a little?
Episode 18 â
Misa finally wants to thank Takumi for helping her all those many times, but he still wants her to be his maid for a day. Sheâs still reluctant, but then gets a fortune at Maid Latte that tells her to repay her debts, which I think Takumi planted. While she considers this, the vice president of the Miyabigaoka student council, Kanade Maki, walks into the closed cafe with two other boys and asks for Satsuki. He says heâs with the Maki Dining Group and wants to buy the cafe. In fact, he wants to buy the entire building, but the owner wonât sell it, so heâs approaching the individual tenants.
Then Maki tells them he wants to open a Butler Cafe and of course the three idiots strongly protest. The plan is to demolish the building and put up a restaurant that looks like an English manor house. Tora Igarashi shows up and I figured he was behind this somehow. He invites everyone to the footman auditions and Maki leaves a proposal with Satsuki, before the Miyabigaoka boys take their leave. Misa runs outside and confronts Igarashi. But when he approaches her, Takumi is right behind her, silent, protective, and glaring at Igarashi. Misa has her say although Igarashi just thinks she likes being a maid and will make a career of it. He tells her to show off her skills at the footman auditions, but then tells her that girls canât compete and leaves. Igarashi must really think he has her beat, but Misa vows revenge.
Misa and Subaru pose as guys and show up at the footman auditions being held at Miyabigaoka with some of the other Maid Latte staff and the three idiots have also tagged along. However, Maki wants all the hopefuls to run a marathon and Misa is confident, but Satsuki has doubts and wants to give up. Misa wonât let her and is very determined because she knows itâs personal.
The marathon is a piggyback race and only the first fifty pairs to complete the race will move on. Although Misa has Subaru on her back, she still comes in at 38. During the race, a masked man passed her with little effort, carrying a smaller masked man under his arm. I get the feeling that this was Takumi, but Iâm not sure who he was with - maybe it was Aoi. Misa sees Kanou and Yukimura competing and adds to her disguise with Erikaâs glasses. Itâs funny that Kanou is hanging out with Yukimura to help overcome his fear of girls over Yukimuraâs protests that he isnât girl-like. And yet here he is wrapped around Kanouâs arm with Kanou being very protective of him. Too cute.
The first event winners are called to the gym for the second event. Somehow, Shiroyan and Kurotatsu of three idiot fame also made it to the next event. Igarashi is going to be one of the judges for the event, with each round consisting of typical footman chores. Once again, Misa and Subaru pass and the contenders are then asked to change into the provided uniforms â in one minute or less! Furthermore, the changing rooms will collapse at the end of that one minute, so if Misa and Subaru donât want to be exposed as girls, they had better hurry.
After the allotted one minute, the dressing rooms fall down and a half dressed Subaru squeals like a girl. She is heard by the others and they try to figure out who the girl is. Fingers are pointed at the masked duo and they have to unmask. It is Takumi and Aoi! Subaru had a feeling it was them as well, but Misa didnât have a clue. However, Maki needs Aoi to state his age and gender since only high school aged males may participate in the competitions. Although Aoi is male, he is only 14 years old and gets disqualified. Subaru is then asked the same question and also gets disqualified for being a girl.
Although the rules state that both partners must be disqualified, Igarashi suggests to Maki that Takumi and Misa be paired and allowed to continue with the auditions. He has to know that itâs Misa in disguise. However, Maki still needs to verify that they are both high school aged males, since Misa looks very suspicious. Takumi answers without a problem, but Misa suddenly becomes very nervous and hesitates a bit too long before stating that sheâs a high school âstudentâ.
But then she rips open her shirt and places Takumiâs hand on her bound and tee shirt clad chest and says sheâs a male as well. I think Misa has just re-paid her debt to Takumi in full!! This action has shocked all of her friends and Igarashi as well. But when Takumi announces that the chest in question is as âflat as a boardâ the others laugh and the tense moment is broken. Takumi pats Misa on the head and Igarashi smiles at her and allows Maki to continue with the auditions.
Episode 19 â
Once again, Takumi saves Misa from getting injured, but he hurts himself badly this time. Maid Latte is saved and it was really sweet of Misa to visit Takumi. She finally gets to see his home and learns that he lives alone. I think she was also surprised to see that he wears glasses. But once she realizes he has a fever, she also nurses him. She even cooks a horrible rice soup for him that he truly appreciates because she made it just for him and he eats every drop.
Episode 20 â
The first part of the episode was all about Yukimuraâs little sister, Ruri, being a princess. And as a big brother, Yukimura wants to treat her like one. Takumi gets roped into being her prince, but it kind of backfires. Enter Misa as a second princess and even Ruri can see that Takumi and Misa belong together.
The next part features Aoi and she turns out to be the real princess! She has Yukimura and Kanou slaving for her, as well as the three idiots. But towards the end, she doesnât understand just how it happened, but realizes these boys have become her friends and actually care about her. This was a nice episode.
Episode 21 â
Kanou canât figure out why Takumi and Misa just donât admit their feelings for one another, when itâs so obvious to him that they like each other. However, a transfer student arrives, looking for his lost love. Shintani Hinagata is very odd, with an odd background, but Misa befriended him a very long time ago and now heâs back to âalways be by her sideâ. Takumi looks disturbed by this and I wonder what he will do. Does he think heâs lost Misa? More important â what is Misa going to do about Shintani?
Episode 22 â
It was so funny that the boys turned into wolves and had to be separated from the girls. Takumi has turned out to be a really jealous guy, but with what Misa said to him, he was able to read between the lines and feel reassured of her true feelings. Really sweet that he contrived to get some time alone with her too.
Episode 23 â
Once again Takumi sees through one of Misaâs disguises, but then again, so did everyone else. Takumi has become quite the pastry chef too, although he only thinks of it as a hobby. However, knowing that Misa is participating in the sweets eating contest, heâs become quite the sadist!
Since the other final contestant is Hinata, Misa canât lose to him. Otherwise, she will have to have her picture taken with him and someone else will know her secret. But by eating an entire cake, Hinata wins the contest and I think even he recognized Misa. Later, in the park, Takumi finds Misa resting after eating so much and teases her, but also takes care of her and even kisses her shoulder when she isnât looking, then tells her she imagined it.
Itâs really hysterical when Hinata wants to take Misa to Maid Latte where heâs won a free meal, thinking sheâd enjoy going to a maid cafe. Instead of just refusing, she comes up with another elaborate plan to go and disguise herself again for the picture Hinata also won. Hinata also gets annoyed that Takumi tags along, although heâs there in order to âhelpâ Misa.
It was nice to see more of Hinataâs back story and why heâs so attached to Misa, but Takumi sees that he really will have to fight for Misa this time. As for Misa herself, she hates to lie and ends up revealing her secret to Hinata. He looks excited at first, but then accuses Misa of lying to him and causes a scene.
A dressed up Takumi steps in and smacks Hinata. Acting as the owner or manager of the cafe, Takumi rescues Misa once again and takes her in the back. She explains to Takumi that she just couldnât lie to Hinata and thanks him for his help, but Takumi accuses her of being cruel. Before she can question that, Hinata interrupts them and gushes over Misa, causing a jealous Takumi to step in again and give Hinata another warning â âTouch Ayuzawa again⊠Next time, Iâll bite.â As the two guys stand off against each other, a clueless Misa watches them and wonders whatâs going on. I liked the image of the two dogs growling at each other too!
Episode 24 -
The Magical Girl event at the cafĂ© was funny with all the cute spell casting. It seems Takumi has changed his tactics a bit and asks Misa what he is to her, but she still canât give him a straight answer although she does hold on to him when he hugs her.
And it was nice to see Hinata finally find the cherry tree that seems to mean so much to him.
Iâm not of the same opinion as you, Wicca.
I an concerned that Hinata is seeing everything as âfateâ and his finding the cherry tree only confirms to him that he and Misato are destined to be together. That being said, I am so fighting the urge to watch the last two episodes online.
