The Outlander Memorial Thread

YAY!!! I’m alive. And I can’t be killed until who exactly orders it? I want to know who to suck up to.

As Slowhand starts to cover Jack’s face with a towel, Wicca watched Red raise up from the rubble near him. He seemed to be distracted. “Nyu?” Wicca was still holding onto Lucy, but Lucy was now looking out towards where the impact landed. It was over half a kilometer away, but the damage it caused was immense.

“Red, what the hell!” Slowhand was shouting at Red who simply yanked the glass from Jack’s throat and face. He checked to make sure nothing was left and carefully treated the wounds with what he had.

“Give him two minutes,” was all he said. He furrowed his eyebrows and squeezed his eyes as if he were in pain. Wicca almost swore she heard him say, “Sorry, Captain.”

“Does anyone know what just landed?” Roy called out.

Eric shrugged as Himeno shook her head. Wicca said no. Tyler, Jessica, and Hawkeye were standing near Roy and both couldn’t say anything. Slowhand looked away from the group.

“It was a fallen angel,” Red said as he began to beat his own head lightly.

Eric answered in a voice that showed he was not in the mood for jests, “Funny, Red.”

“I am serious, from one of the lower dimensional forms of heaven. It is literally an angel. I can’t remember what originally got them caste out, but I do remember who picked them up.” His voice got cold as if recalling a dark memory, “Nagisa Furukawa.”

Hawkeye laughed, “The bread maker CEO from Japan? What the hell does she have to do with this?” She gave Roy a glance and was surprised to see his face.

Roy simply stated, “Good God. Red, you tangled with her and lived?”

Red managed a glare at Roy, “Not quite, but I only got it once.”

Jack’s voice made Slowhand jump a few feet, “Well, then, I take it Furukawa has done something to these angels, knowing her. What info does Section 23 have?” He glanced at the broken shards of glass and seemed slightly pleased that Red took care of him. But he was concerned at how Red was starting to look.

“All I was privy too was that she turned them into weapons and created that orbital delivery system. I was to avoid the angels if they ever dropped.” He bit into his tongue slightly, “They sound so wrong, it is so wrong, the sound in my head hurts so much…”

Jessica looked around, “I don’t hear anything.” She didn’t jump this time when Crescendo popped up next to her.

Her voice was slightly more musical and more menacing, “A song of pain, torture, and despair. Hatred beats with every note, the desire to watch all things burn and die. It is not their song alone, but amplified wills of vengeance turned into a dark tune. Red is hearing the enhancing melody, yet it does not affect him the way it should.”

Pretear spoke up, “So you are telling me literal fallen angels that have been turned into weapons by the Baker Queen have landed right next door. According the Mu there, they are bent on destroying everything. How bad is this?”

Jack smiled and said, “How fast can you guys run?”

Unending pain. That was their existence. Only pain. Not just physical, burning, grinding, tearing pain in their bodies, but pain in their souls. They were rejected from heaven, cast out long ago. Whether it was their sin or an accident, the only thing they can feel now is the loss of paradise.

From that pain rose hatred. If their life is to be hell, the rest of the world will become hell as well. The shock of the impact activated three units. The capsules opened up revealing three humanoid bodies. Anyone looking at them would have been awestruck by their beauty. The light shining from their skin, the perfect shape of their bodies, everything about them appeared to be a dream. But it was an illusion. The bodies are scarred with implants, weapons attached to their very flesh. Their bodies had become corrupted from within. Death and pain is the only gift they can give.

The lead one activates its scanners. An insistent nagging voice orders her to find a Diclonian and subdue it. Other pictures and orders fill her mind. As much as she just wants to destroy, the orders must be obeyed. She signals the male and other female to follow her. The target should be nearby, but the sensor designed to track Diclonians was only detecting a polluted signal. The feeling of the probe shooting out of her body sent the sensation of daggers tearing into her shoulder, but it did not slow her down.

A large group was running out of a damaged building towards a few vehicles. Three vampires, a few humans, one with a unknown signal, one with mu signature, one with mu and Diclonian signature, and finally one Diclonian in an inactive state were detected. The images went straight to her and one other location…

Nagisa smiled at the incoming pictures. “Ah, so Lucy is confirmed alive. Wonderful. Be sure one of the units has an anti-vector generator with it.” She looks over the other readings.

“That one we can’t get a full reading on, Wicca, take her as well. The fire Alchemist shouldn’t be a threat to our units nor the vampires. Give them the final death. The Mu pair, destroy them utterly. I hate Mu’s.” She reads the scan closer. “Wait, it can’t be…Son of BITCH! Kill them thoroughly! How did he survive?”

Tomoya looked at the screen, “What is wrong Nagisa?”

She slaps him away, “Nothing! I just do not like being tricked.” The angles rapidly approached the targets. “I got you now Lucy. And I got a Whispered. Section 23 can kiss my…” The certain one she killed long ago disappeared along with the Mu. Nagisa growled to herself as even her angles can’t chase a teleporter. “Damn those *%)#ing Mu’s! I swear I am going to nuke Tokyo to the…”

For the first time in her life, Nagisa was at an utter loss of words as the angle focused on the new target.

Jack had everyone running toward the vehicles. He prayed some would be intact. “Come on!” Despite the rush, almost everyone seemed to remain calm. Jack thought to himself, “Well, I am with one tough crowd.” He looked up and saw a probe watching them. “Oh shit.”

Himeno saw the probe and instantly drew her pistol. A few crack shots struck out at the probe, but a barrier deflected the bullets. “They don’t make it easy, do they?” she said as she holstered her pistol.

Wicca tried to calm Lucy and keep her moving, but Lucy was growing more and more agitated. “Nyu! Nyu!” It didn’t help every now and then she was not able to grip her.

Jessica ran straight to Jack. “Whatever the hell those things are, they are coming up fast. And by the smell, I don’t want to be near them.”

Jack cursed to himself. They did not have the weapons to deal with this. “If only we had an arm slave or EVA or…” He looked at Redshirt1 and Crescendo.

“Red! Summon your dolem now and cover us!”

Redshirt1 shouted back, “Sorry Captain, we can’t summon a dolem. We are not fully Mu anymore.”

“What the hell were you flying back in Pittsburgh?”

“A Vermilion-slave that we ‘borrowed’. It is not available right now as it is being modified.” Red’s eyes widened as three dots appeared approaching the group very quickly.

“I don’t give a shit if it is not ready, RED COVER US NOW!”

“Aye Captain!” Redshirt1 disappeared with Crescendo.

Himeno shouted, “What the hell? He left us?”

Jessica said, “Well, are we screwed now? I didn’t want to face true death all the…”

The sight of a giant appearing out of no where gave everyone pause. It stood nearly twenty meters in height and was humanoid in shape. But no one could speak until Lucy said in Nyu’s sweet voice, “Pillbury!”

Inside the giant doughy figure, Redshirt1 looked over the controls, “Are you kidding me?”

Crescendo sighed back, “When I said it was not done cooking, I MEANT IT!” Both stared at the screen as the angles closed in…

All sentient life on the planet deserves death. No, they deserved more than just death. They needed to burn in hell. The angles scanned the new target but could not make out its contents. It seemed to be in a state of slight flux. However, no weapons were detected. They lock on with theirs and fired. Three heavy blasts streaked out and hit the creature dead center, or so it seemed. A field of some sort absorbed most the blow, and only a slight ripple rolled along the target. A sound escaped the giant, “He He.”

They fired again, and again. The field was not breaking, but the unit was not moving very much. Orders came through to ignore the new target. As they began to move around, flames lashed out at them from an unknown source while several large objects flew right by them. Too late they realized the large target was jamming their senses. A large rupture from the ground drew their attention as another giant robot surfaced…

As the three angles targeted their mecha, Red called out, “Uh, Cress, we don’t have any weapons, but do we have shielding?!” The blast hit them dead center, but all Red felt was a slight wobble. “He he, okay, we do. An ETA Field plus a harmonic barrier, nice! But Cress, we need something to fire back! Cress?”

Distantly, he heard her voice, “Found something right below us. Not sure how much of it is working, it is ancient, but I am bringing it up. Bunch of dead aliens in it though, but well preserved. You will need to take a look latter.”

As the angles began beating the mecha with more blasts, slowly weakening the fields, Roy unleashed flames as Lucy began to toss objects at them. Red emitted various sounds and jamming signals to confuse the angles. But as he listened, the wrong sound coming from the angles seemed to be oddly close, yet different. “Wait, that sound is coming from Lucy?” Red did not know what it meant, but he felt soon he will have to find out.

A giant tripod broke out of the ground nearby. It towered over his mecha and let loose a loud call

He heard Cress clearly, “Like my new toy? Lets see if the weapons work!”

A blast erupted from the machine. It bounced off the nearest angle and struck near the vehicles where everyone was gathering…

Slowhand shouted, “Roy, get back here now! Those two machines can keep them off for…”

The blast hit Slowhand, Riza, Pretear, and Jack. Everyone froze for a second, but a few quick pats revealed they were still alive. Pretear was the first to realize something was wrong, “What the &%*$!”

Jack sighed, “Well, somehow Red or Cress managed to get us naked at last.” Though standing in the buff, he managed to gesture everyone into the cars…

Cody awakes with a start as the plane shakes and bounces. Gasping for air from the shock of his abrupt awakening and the nightmarish prophecy that proceeded it, his eyes dart around the cabinet and lock on Tessa who seems oddly calm. “Oh shit, you’ve gone and crashed the plane!” he cries out.

Tessa looks over at him with a confused look on her face. “What the hell are you talking about?” The plane bounces again and the screech of the tires on asphalt fills the air. “We’re just landing to get some fuel.”

He leans forward and looks out ahead of them. A long runway stretches out in front of them, a tall control tower and building at the end. Small beads of sweat dun down his forehead. He continues to gasp for air. “Oh, sorry. But aren’t you coming in a little fast?” HIs eyes widen.

“Eh, we’ll be fine. Now which one of these is the brake?” Cody’s eyes widen even more as he looks at her in terror. She laughs. “Relax, I was just kidding.” The jet starts to slow down and gradually comes to a halt.

Tessa looks over at Cody and smiles. “I’m Captain of one of the most advanced war vessels in the world and you didn’t think I could handle a small jet like this?” Her smile fades and she becomes concerned when she notices the frightened expression and sweat on her friends face. She reaches over and places a hand on his arm. “What’s wrong? Are you okay?”

Cody nods. “Ummm… yeah. I just had a nightmare.” He wipes his brow and takes a deep breath. “Where are we? How long have I been out?”

“You’ve been out for a few hours. Long enough for us to land in Arkansas and refuel. It shouldn’t take long. We should be back in the air and finishing our flight to Houston in an hour or two.”

He shakes his head and rubs his temples. He takes another deep breath. “It didn’t seem like I was out that long.”

Tessa smiles gently. “Yeah, you looked exhausted, so I just let you sleep. Though I have to admit you did toss a little bit. What sort of dream were you having?”

“It’s hard to describe, really. I can’t even remember it well, just the words.”

“Words?” she asks.

“Yeah. It was a familiar voice, kind, gentle, but the words… They…” he struggles to put his thoughts into words.

“They what?” Tessa becomes more concerned.

A tear starts to run down his face. “She said I was going to kill them. She said I was going to kill them all.”

She pulls her hand back and her eyes widen, partly in concern, partly in fear. She looks out the cockpit window as they both sit there silently.

Jack dives for cover as Red’s dolem attempted to battle with the mechanized creature. As the two giants clash, the ground shakes violently. In the distance, he hears several loud explosions rocking the city. He covers his left ear as he reaches into his pocket for his com device.

“Gwen!” he yells into it. “Gwen are you there?”

“Yes, Jack. I’m here,” her voice comes over the speaker. “I’m trying to access the Mithril systems and find out what is going on. The entire East Coast of North America is down, so nothing is getting out.”

As Red and the creature crash to the ground, chunks of cement and rock fly through the air, narrowly missing Jack’s head. He moves further away from the battle and ducks behind a silver Chevy Mailbu. “Are you making any progress. I need to know what we’re dealing with here. These creatures, I’ve never seen anything like them.”

“I’m doing my best, but their security systems are strong. It will take me some time. If only Ianto or Tosh were here.”

Jack’s face grows solemn. “I know, but we will have to make do. Just keep trying. Get back to me as soon as you find anything out.”

“Will do. Jack, be careful.” Gwen says sternly.

Jack can’t help but be touched by her concern. He smiles slyly. “Aren’t I always?” He closes the com device and quickly runs back to the rest of the gang.

Himeno greets him. “Do you think Red can handle those things?”

Jack shakes his head. “Maybe one or two of them, but the whole city is crawling with them. In fact, it looks like the entire East Coast is being attacked.”

“The whole coast? How is that possible? What are those things?” she asks.

“Gwen is trying to tap into MIthril’s systems and see if they know anything, but right now I’ve got no answers.”

Eric joins the two. “There is something… something ancient about those creatures. I can smell the centuries in the air around them.”

“Ancient?” Jack asks. “What do you mean? Do you have any ideas?”

The vampire sighs. “I can’t say for certain, but if they are what I think they are, we’re in a lot of trouble. Red won’t be any match for them. None of us will.”

“What are they?” asks Himeno.

“I’ve only smelled this scent once, and though it’s not quite the same, I’m almost positive we’re dealing with Fallen Ones.”

Tyler overhears the exchange. “What the hell are the Fallen Ones?” An explosion rocks the area and knocks most of them to the ground. Only Jack and Eric are able to maintain their balance.

Eric reaches down and helps Himeno back up. He looks back and forth from one member of the group to another as they stare at him in anticipation of an answer while they pull themselves to their feet. He takes a deep breath. “Quite simply, the Fallen Ones are Angels.”

Auran stares up at the sky from the top of a tall sky scraper. A sinister smile slowly spreads across his face as he watches 100s of shooting stars zoom across the sky and then disappear. He knows exactly where they are going. A sense of contentment wells up inside him. All his centuries of preparing are about to pay off. Only a few more steps, a few more months, a mere moment in the grand scheme of time, are all that remain.

“The prophecy is finally coming true, isn’t it?” a soft, feminine voice comes from behind him.

He laughs subtly. “Karrise, I was wondering when you would arrive. And yes, after all these years the end times are finally upon us.”

“Do you think he will really come to our side?”

“The Demon Lord will eventually come around. He will be unable to fight his destiny, no matter what his human nature wants. His darker side will eventually win out. It might just need a gentle nudge.”

Karrise sighs. “So that’s where we will come in?”

Auran turns around and looks deep into her violet eyes. He hasn’t seen her in almost 200 years and he can’t help but be taken back by her incredible beauty. Her sleek blonde hair wraps her face in long, golden ringlets. Her face is perfectly formed as if God had constructed it himself down to every last detail, which in fact he had. Her body is thin but curvy with ample breasts, which are currently covered by the black turtle neck she is wearing. He licks his lips as he looks her over from head to toe. “Exactly. If our plans our to succeed, he must trust us. To earn his trust and favor, we must come to him in a time of need.”

“So that’s why you unleashed the others on the Earth? But how are we going to stop them now that they are loose?”

He laughs and his smile grows wider. “Don’t worry about. I have a secret weapon up my sleeve and she’s already in place. Now, it’s time for us to depart.”

Karrise nods as from behind a dark shadow grows, slowly turning into a pair of dark wings. “I’m ready.”

A similar shadow begins to form behind Auran as a pair of wings grow from his back. “Then let’s be gone.” The pair’s wings begin flapping slowly as they lift into the air. In a flash, they ascend into the sky and vanish.

“Cress, watch out!”

It was too late, the Tripod crashed into the Mecha as the three angles fired at it. Both fell to the ground sending debris everywhere.

Crescendo was next to him in the cockpit, “Ancient piece of alien junk! However, we can absorb some decent parts. Let’s get going Red!” She glanced towards him, “Eh, your not bleeding that bad, MOVE!”

The giant Pillsbury shaped Mecha rose again. The three angles flew towards it. The male one suddenly began to glow. The bright light blinded Red for a second. He could not believe his eyes when he saw the same angel now matched his twenty meter tall Mecha.

“Okay, that is just blanking cheating.”

The angel pointed a now very large gun like appendage at him. He could ‘hear’ the hatred pouring from the creature. Still, he had been through extremely tough situations before. He reacted quickly.

Surprising anyone watching, his Mecha closed the distance in a heart beat and lifted the gun out of the way. His Mecha slammed a knee in between the angels legs. It screamed in pain, though Red didn’t think it would actually work. Still, the momentum was not lost as he knocked the angel to the ground. Unfortunately, a spear like hand of the angel reached out and pierced his shield and plunged into the Mecha. He felt as if someone was ripping out his intestines.

“Yes, it hurts, but were not that closely tied to the Mecha to cause us actual damage Red.” Cres lightly pressed her hands on his shoulders. “Think, Cres…Think…OHHH! He can have this if he wants something so bad. We don’t need it.”

Red jumped back. The angel ripped its hand out and was left holding the Tripod’s power core. It looked at its prize, only to see what appeared to be a reducing pattern of symbols. The other two angels fled as the explosion destroyed the large male. The shock wave was large but did not go very far. The AT field and sonic barrier held. Still, Red was wondering what organ felt like it was missing.

He ‘heard’ his Mecha say, “Damage threshold reached, emergency phase out to restart reconstruction and restructuring process.”

“Cress, what does it mean by…” About sixteen meters off the ground, Red got a good look of the chaos around him before he was reintroduced to the ground with a sudden stop.

Cress said, “Don’t worry about it, the Mecha should be fine. This is getting very serious, Red. We should…Red?” She looked down. “Oh yeah, you don’t float…”
